“ | Rabbid Yoshi is a crazy, out of control fighter. Rules don’t apply to him, and he prefers shooting before thinking – which usually ends in destruction. Some say he can sometimes behave quietly… but only when he is smiling foolishly at his team after shooting crazily at the enemy. His infatuation with heavy weapons and explosions can change the tide of a battle in an instant. | „ |
~ In-game description. |
Rabbid Yoshi is one of the Rabbid protagonists that appears in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle.
Personality[]
Rabbid Yoshi is a crazed and hyperactive character who tends to act without thinking, regardless of the consequences. His personality is similar to most other members of his species; reckless, crazed, mischievous, and playful. However, when compared to other Rabbids, Rabbid Yoshi could be considered even more hyperactive, a trait supported by his decision to keep his own weapons in his mouth, as well as the many wild facial expressions he pulls. He is also shown to be trigger-happy during the defeat of Calavera in Spooky Trails, where the Rabbid chose to keep shooting at Calavera despite the battle is over. He's the Rabbid which the group probably has the most difficulty controlling.
Appearance[]
Rabbid Yoshi wears a green and white outfit that bears a resemblance to Yoshi. It has a large round green orb that resembles Yoshi's nose on top of the outfit and a tail on the bottom that Rabbid Yoshi can stand on. The suit also has three red spikes which run down his back toward a red saddle with white edges. The saddle seems to be held on by some rope that has partially come undone.
Aside from these distinctions, Rabbid Yoshi has many of the usual Rabbid features in terms of appearance. He has white fur covering most of his body, stubby legs and hands with no visible fingers, a rounded head with long ears, a pair of bulging blue eyes which unlike most Rabbids is cross-eyed, and a mouth containing two teeth that can open very wide.
Powers and Abilities[]
In combat, Rabbid Yoshi utilizes long-range weaponry that he stores in his mouth. He has great defensive capabilities while also having good offence and mobility. His primary weapon is the Rumblebang, a Gatling gun-like weapon that can shoot multiple shots at foes and can obliterate full cover while dealing some damage to hidden foes; it would result in either sub-par or tremendous damage. His secondary weapon is the Grenaduck, a rubber duck that is similar to a grenade that explodes after being thrown. His Dash is similar to Rabbid Peach's Stylish Dash, but he is allowed five Dashes instead of four. Rabbid Yoshi's first ability is Outer Shell, which can nullify all movement and weapon-based damage though it can only take one hit unless upgraded to take two hits, making it high-risk, high reward. His second ability is Scaredy Rabbid which he will do the Rabbid scream to repel any foe that is too close to him, which any ally's active line-of-sight and status affecting weapons can make it more dangerous. Rabbid Yoshi's outer shell. The Outer Shell ability can be used in conjunction with Princess Peach's Protection to reduce damage to a greater extent.
Biography[]
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle[]
Rabbid Yoshi is first seen at Spooky Trails where he is held hostage by the villain Calavera halfway through Chapter 3. He is used by Calavera in battle against Mario and company by forcing him to cough up Grenaducks at them. However, the heroes manage to defeat Calavera and rescue Rabbid Yoshi who joins them on their journey to foil Bowser Jr.'s plans and stop the Megabug from destroying existence. They head to the clock tower where they turn the hands back to place the full moon into position to open the Moon Gate. After passing through the gate, Bowser Jr. is revealed to be behind the mysterious messages of "Tom Phan" and makes Spawny fuse a Rabbid with a Boo balloon and a gramophone, resulting in the Phantom of the Bwahpera, who proceeds to sing a degrading song about Mario and his series, but they managed to defeat him.
In the Lava Pit, it was revealed that Jr. had turned the volcano into his base of operations for his army. During their expedition, they run into Jr. running the Mecha Jr. to fight against them. They defeat him, but Spawny falls off the ledge as a result, with Jr. leaving in distraught. Rabbid Yoshi's namesake, Yoshi managed to save Spawny from falling to his doom and he joins them on their way out of the crystal caves. However, Spawny was hypnotized by the energy emitting from the phoenix form of MegaBug, who managed to absorb him and fly to Bowser's Castle to begin the next step of its plan. Bowser Jr. returns to criticize them for their carelessness in handling Spawny before he gets a text from Bowser that he is returning home from vacation early, causing Jr. to freak out and head home in alarm, realizing that his father is in danger. The heroes fight Bwario and Bwaluigi as well as the Lava Queen before heading to Bowser's Castle where they witness the MegaBug fuse with Bowser with Jr. begging them to save him. They manage to oust the MegaBug from Bowser and combine their attacks to destroy it, closing the vortex and saving Spawny. Bowser Jr. is grateful and asks them to speak to Bowser on his behalf. After that, they return to Peach's Castle where Rabbid Peach's statue is inaugurated, and she was happy enough to get everyone in for a group selfie.
