Rafe Cameron is the former secondary antagonist turned major character in the Netflix TV Show, Outer Banks.
He is Sarah Cameron and Wheezie’s older brother, once a mentally Ill murder, started with Sheriff Peterkin, by his father, Ward Cameron, who always was hard and violent with him, and then the hereditary of his billionaire aristocratic family company.
He also became the fiancé of a girl called Sofia and a friend of The Pogues, even if he remains a kook.
He is portrayed by Drew Starkey.
Personality[]
Rafe is a violent, aggressive and dangerous boy. At the beginning, presented as one of the main antagonists, he is a despicable and ruthless maniac, also using drugs and cocaine, which makes them have certain problems. Rafe is aggressive with anyone he considers a threat, especially the Pogues, but even if he is a kook, he does not feel much sympathy towards the other kooks, especially Topper. Although, at the beginning he is murderous and cold-blooded, Rafe is capable of regretting what he does. He did not seem very much like the idea of having killed Peterkin and shot Sarah, so much so that he tried to kill her, thinking that she was the cause of his problems; but he cares about her. Rafe, despite having killed some people, does not really like it, showing himself to be sensitive in certain cases. Rafe is aware that he has certain problems and that drugs are those problems, but when he tries to explain it no one believes him and he remains isolated and alone, making him grow certain insecurities.
Rafe can be emotional, crying when he bitterly regrets what he has done and even panicking when he believes something is very serious, this shows that he is a bit pessimistic. The fact that Rafe behaves like this is because of the ways in which his father treated him, never feeling good enough and trying to imitate him as best he can.
Starting from the third season, after he collaborated with Kiara to escape from Singh, he becomes more mature (not that he wasn't before), determined and altruistic. Also, a little less arrogant and aggressive. In the fourth season he finally reconciles with Sarah after the mission. Rafe also cultivates a genuine friendship with Barry, even though in the second season he had temporarily betrayed him, since he is the one to whom he confides his most personal thoughts and Barry helps him. Furthermore, he also shows that he is romantic, starting a relationship with Sofia.
