She is a Pegasus pony, who serves as Tank's owner, Scootaloo's idol and adoptive older sister, and Applejack's best friend.
She was voiced by Ashleigh Ball, who also voices Applejack in the series, and Miles "Tails" Prower in Sonic Prime, and his alternate counterparts. In the spin-off series, Hello Pinkie Pie, she was voiced by Jessica DiCicco.
She has a sky-blue body, sky-blue pegasus wings, magenta eyes, a rainbow-colored mane and tail, a rainbow colored lightning bolt cutie mark with a cloud on the end, and three eyelashes visible for each eye.

She is very loyal, cocky, sometimes boastful, arrogant, brash and impatient, but selfless, friendly, very protective, accepting, sisterly (to Scootaloo when they are having a sister bond) tolerant, helpful, warm, kind, forgiving, responsible, understanding, compassionate, strong and powerful.
Powers and Abilities[]
Pegasus Physiology: Rainbow Dash is a pegasus who is responsible for maintaining the weather and clearing the skies in Ponyville, She naturally has wings and the ability to fly.
Enhanced Flight: Rainbow demonstrated remarkable speed and agility in the air, Rainbow Dash has proven herself to be a capable and accomplished flier.
Proportional Strength: Rainbow Dash is very powerful and strong, enough to shake solid stone and rock walls when pounding her hoofs onto them and kicking the rocks to block the cave to keep the Fly-ders from getting inside.
Weather Manipulation: Rainbow Dash has demonstrated her ability to manipulate the weather numerous times. She clears the skies of Ponyville of their clouds "in ten seconds flat", dispersing the clouds by kicking them into nothingness. She leads water droplets out of a cloud, and creates a rainbow above her when the droplets splash against her. She teams up with other Pegasus ponies to create a whirlwind that sucks away clouds and snow from Ponyville, and she creates a tornado to vacuum the parasites.
Sonic Rainboom: This stunt is performed when Rainbow Dash flies up to the sky and flies down at speed, then releasing a large vibrantly-colored ring that expands from the point of the sonic rainboom's occurrence accompanied by a large shockwave and a rainbow wake trailing behind it.
Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy are childhood best friends who knew each other long before the events of the show.
Rainbow Dash makes a cameo as a toy in Transformers 4: Age of Extinction.
Season 3 is the only season where Rainbow Dash appears in every episode, with One Bad Apple and Apple Family Reunion as its only episodes where she does not have a speaking role.
Rainbow Dash is the only member of the Mane Six to not have any known siblings. However, she does share a sister-like bond with Scootaloo.
Flight to the Finish and Parental Glideance are the only episodes in which Rainbow Dash appears without any of the other Mane Six.

In the test pilot from 2009, My Little Pony: Adventures, Tara Strong provided the voice of Rainbow Dash, as well as Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie, instead of Ashleigh Ball.
