“ | Kevin, I'm a divorced guy with no balls who has to wear a testosterone patch to keep his mustache from falling out ... so I'm shittin' rainbows YAYYYY! | „ |
~ Randall Crawford |
Chief Randall Crawford is the deuteragonist of the Netflix original series, Paradise P.D. He is the chief of police at Paradise Police Department and the father of Kevin Crawford.
Randall is a furious, boisterous, unhinged middle-aged man with an extremely low tolerance level for bullshit. The main reason for his rage comes from the fact that years ago, he was shot in the testicles by his son and he now has to wear testosterone patches just to keep his mustache from falling off. On top of that, his wife Karen divorced him and his idiot son is now working at his police station, against his wishes.
As heroic as he is, Randall's rage can often get in the way of his police work and he'll do some unlawful and regrettable things that make him rather anti-heroic at times.
He is voiced by Tom Kenny.
Heroic Acts[]
- In "Welcome to Paradise", Randall was shown to be a boss of busting criminals and putting them in his place, during his youth. Kevin looked up to him as a kid and wanted to be just like him. Randall helped with capturing and arresting Terry Two-Toes, saving the town as well as his distressed wife, Karen from being blown to pieces.
- In "Ass on the Line", Randall investigated the case of the murdered ass man only to find out he has been tricked by his archnemesis, Dean Hancock. At the end of the episode, he solved a different mystery of a severed ass.
- In "Black & Blue", Randall protested for Blue Lives Matter.
- In "Dungeons & Dragnet", Randall busted all of the D&D players in Paradise to save the town from their alleged "demonic magic". Personally, Randall didn't actually believe the board games were Satanic and only got rid of all the games because Preacher Paul offered a ton of reward money to whoever could help him destroy all the D&D games. In the end, Randall fought against Satan in a game of Dungeons & Dragons.
- In "Meet the Jabowskis", a flashback showed Randall chasing The Jabowski Family (a family of criminals) on a speedboat and shooting at them.
- In "Christmas in Paradise", Randall had Dusty arrested, wrongfully thinking he was the argyle meth kingpin. Although he arrested an innocent man, he thought that guy was evil, so his actions were in good intent.
