Ranzal is a major protagonist from Dragalia Lost. Once the heir to the throne of St. Lotier, Ranzal left the adobe of his father Zacharias due to a disinterest in politics and instead became a mercenary. Later on in his life, Ranzal meets the young Prince Euden and while initially reluctant to help him, the two slowly bond and Ranzal becomes one of the prince's most steadfast and loyal allies.
He is voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi in the Japanese version, and by Richard Ian Cox in the English version, who also voiced Inuyasha.
Appearance[]
Ranzal is a tall and muscular dark-skinned man with messy, medium-length brown hair and eyes. In his normal attire, he wears a yellow shirt with only one sleeve and brown pants, bearing a large pauldron on one arm. He wears brown pants with metal-tipped shoes.
His Gala attire is similar to the above but more elaborate in design, with white metal plates with gold outlines. The pants are also darker in color.
His summer attire consists of a blue open shirt, a pair of exotic shorts, and sandals.
After accidentally being transformed into a child, Ranzal takes the appearance of his younger self. He wears a white sailor's hat, a red waistcoat with a white shirt, a turquoise scarf, black plaid pants and socks as well as brown shoes. He also wields an orange baseball bat with stickers on it and carries an orange messenger bag.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Superhuman Physical Attributes: Ranzal is incredibly strong and durable compared to most people, being able to hold his own against Volk. one of the strongest Agito and defeat him. He is also capable of fending off hordes and hordes of powerful demons and the like for long periods of time without getting exhausted.
- Indomitable Will: Ranzal's willpower is exceptionally strong, as he managed to will himself into summoning the strength to repel Volk and beat him down. It's stated that this willpower is so potent that it managed to clear away the black mana corrupting Zephyr and grant him rebirth into a more powerful form.
- Unending Appetite: Ranzal is notorious for his huge appetite, being an infamous glutton in the Halidom along with Luca, annoying Cleo to no end. As such he is frequently seen eating and during meals eats enormous amounts.
- Elemental magic: Like all other adventurers, Ranzal is attuned to the elements and can channel them through his weapons. In his Regular and Gala variant he uses Wind, he uses Water in his Summer variant and Fire in his Child variant. He can cast protective barriers, attack bonuses and healing spells depending on his variant.
- Weapon mastery: As a mercenary Ranzal is skilled in the usage of numerous weapons, mainly the axe and sword. He uses the katana in his Summer variant and a baseball bat (which functions as an axe variant) in his Child variant.
- Military prowess: While uninterested in politics initially, Ranzal has a good mastery over military matters thanks to his upbringing and is capable of commanding and leading the forces of New Alberia with ease.
- Charisma: Ranzal's charm and loyalty attract many to him, allowing him to establish close ties with other mercenaries and form close bonds with his friends.
