Of this life, I have not a single regret!
~ Raoh's final words before sending his soul to the heavens

Raoh is the (former) primary villain of the manga/anime series Fist of the North Star series.

In the Japanese version, he was voiced by Rikiya Koyama in Legends of the Dark King, Takashi Ukaji in Fist of the North Star: The Legend of Yuria, Fist of the North Star: The Legend of Toki, Fist of the North Star: Legend of Raoh: Chapter of Death in Love, Fist of the North Star: Legend of Raoh: Chapter of Fierce Fight and Legends of the Dark King: A Fist of the North Star Story, the late Kenji Utsumi in Fist of the North Star: The Movie and Fist of the North Star, Tessho Genda in Fist of the North Star: Legend of Heroes and J-Stars Victory Vs+, the formerly Fumihiko Tachiki in the video games and currently Masami Iwasaki. In the English version, he was voiced by Wally Burr in the movie, John Snyder in Fist of the North Star, Andrew Love in Legends of the Dark King: A Fist of the North Star Story, the formerly Dave B Mitchell in video games and currently Patrick Seitz.

The self-proclaimed "Conqueror of the Century's End" Raoh is the older brother of Kenshiro and Toki and leads his army to deliver order to the land with an iron fist. Despite being a cruel, ruthless tyrant, Raoh is shown to have compassion deep in his heart and mourns for the fact that he has to kill his brothers to achieve his goals, but places his ambition above anything else. When he discovers that Yuria is the Last General of Nanto and takes her for himself, he finds he cannot defeat Kenshiro, who has learned the ultimate Hokuto Shinkentechnique Musou Tensei. He decides to kill Yuria, believing that by killing her he will come to learn of sorrow and achieve the technique, until she reveals she is already dying from radiation sickness. Admitting his love and sorrow over her impending doom, Raoh extends her life, which also enables him to learn Musou Tensei, but at the cost of being unable to best his adoptive brother.

When Raoh is defeated by Kenshiro, he commends his younger brother and raises his fist, dying in a pillar of his own energy and restoring sunlight to the dying world.

Powers and Abilities

As a master of Hokuto Shinken, Raoh boasts extraordinary fighting power. He uses the hidden vital points to inflict a slow and agonizing death on those who oppose him - as was the case with Rei.

His Strong Fist style overpowers enemies with immense force and enhances his own strength depending on his opponent. Toki describes his style as being akin to a strong current that becomes raging and more violent in face of another strong current. Raoh had great strength to go along with his size, and could (in particular in the anime) send several people flying with a mere swing of his fists, destroying them in brutal ways and even pulverize through steel and bone instantly.

In general, Raoh was an extremely powerful adversary and could defeat Rei, Kenshiro, Toki, amongst many others by himself. It took until Kenshiro mastered Muso Tensei for the King of Fists to be truly defeated.
