“ | So it's like, I need that, you know? To get the aggression out. I mean, that's what the others don't understand. I'm talking about physicality. I'm a doer. I mean, I listen to my body, and a lot of times, my body is just telling me to punch stuff. | „ |
~ Raphael in the Tales of the TMNT episode "Raph vs. Water". |
Raphael is one of the four protagonists of the 2023 animated film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and the upcoming spin-off series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He is the most hot-tempered of his brothers.
He was voiced by Brady Noon, who also voices Greg Heffley in the Disney+ Diary of a Wimpy Kid film series, and Thor Miller in Good Boys.
Biography[]
Personality[]
Raphael is very hot-tempered and the most aggressive of his siblings. He has what his brothers call a "rage problem" because of his aggressive fighting. However, Raph denies it and claims to have dreamt of fighting every night, and wants to be accepted by humans. After he, his brothers, the mutants, and April help save the city, Raphael starts enjoying life in high school, becoming a member of the wrestling team at Eastman High School. He can also be immature as he, Donnie, and Mikey laugh at April when they learned about her nickname "Puke Girl". Raph also dislikes when Leo tattletales on them to Splinter.
He is, by far, the Turtle who treats their foes with the most hostility. However, Raph becomes kinder by the end of the story and rises to protect his family and New York City when it is threatened by Superfly.
Physical Appearance[]
Raphael is an anthropomorphic turtle with bright green skin and a brown shell. He has brown eyes with black pupils, but they turn white when he is fighting. However, unlike most incarnations of the character, he has a gap between his teeth (much like the 2012 version of Donatello). Raphael wears a red mask that covers his head, and red cloth around his elbows, knees, and wrists. He also has a dark belt with his name's initials printed in yellow on a round buckle.
Powers and Abilities[]
Since a young age, Raph and his brothers have all been trained in ninjutsu by Splinter. He fights with Sai. Raph is said to be the strongest of all the turtles. He has the ability to flip a car off its side by himself and can throw and charge at multiple adult humans too.
Trivia[]
- This is the first incarnation of Raphael and his brothers to be voiced by actual teenagers instead of adults. Seth Rogen, the writer and producer of the film, believed that the teenage aspect is always forgotten.
