Cleo Cazo, also known as Ratcatcher 2, is the deuteragonist of the 2021 superhero black comedy film The Suicide Squad.
She is the daughter of the original Ratcatcher, who taught her how to live a life crime by communicating with rats. She would be sent to Belle Reve due to her actions, but would be recruited into Task Force X to destroy any evidence of Project Starfish on Corto Maltese.
She was portrayed by Daniela Melchior (who also portrayed Isabel Neves in Fast X, and voiced Spider-Gwen in the Portuguese dub of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), as Maya Le Clark played the character young.

Cleo Cazo was born in Portugal to an unnamed father who was a criminal under the name "Ratcatcher", who manipulated rats to pull off crimes. Cleo was deeply loved by her father, who, despite his drug addiction, who spend time with Cleo to teach her how to control and communicate with rats. Sadly, her father would suffer from a drug overdose, leaving her alone on the streets where she found some solace with rats. Once she reached adulthood, Cleo would try to live the "American Dream", but turned to a life of crime and gave herself the name "Ratcatcher 2" to honor her father. While evading the police when an armed robbery with rats, she was arrested and sentenced to Belle Rave.
The Suicide Squad[]
In 2021, Amanda Waller decided to reform Task Force X to destroy any evidence of her being involved with Project Starfish, which was being done in Jotunheim and Corto Maltese. After Rick Flag's team were mostly killed, Waller decided to create a second team to continue the mission, and Cleo was chosen to lighten her sentence. Once arriving on the island, Ratcatcher was nearly eaten alive by her teammate King Shark, but he was stopped by Bloodsport before she decided to befriend the creature. The following day, the team are tasked by Waller to find Flag, whom she believe is still alive and is being held by the Corto Maltese government. She assisted the team in distracting soldiers, but was shocked to see the men were led by Sol Soria, who led a resistance against the Corto Maltese government and agrees to help them.
While driving to a bar to find the Thinker, who is a member of Project Starfish, Cleo bonded with Bloodsport after speaking of her past and him speaking of his daughter. The team manage to kidnap the Thinker to have him bring them to the lab where Project Starfish is held, but Flag decides to first rescue Harley Quinn despite the initial protest of Peacemaker. Afterwards, Ratcatcher, Peacemaker and Flag split to find the laboratory and learn from the Thinker that the United States government was involved in the project of experimenting on Starro. Flag decides to instead to take this information and expose Waller, but is stopped by Peacemaker, who kills Rick so he complete the mission to have his sentence lightened. Terrified, Cleo attempts to evade Peacemaker, and is saved by Bloodsport, who defeats Peacemaker in a duel once learning of his treachery.
Due to the explosives being planted in Jotunheim, Starro escapes from its confinement and goes on a rampage on the city after brutally killing the Thinker. Wanting to save the citizens of Jotunheim, Cleo decides to fight against Starro alongside the team under the leader of Bloodsport, who disobeys Waller's order to leave the city. With the assistance of Waller's team and teamwork, Cleo uses rats to overpower Starro, which resulted in its death. After stopping Starro, Bloodsports blackmails Waller into letting the surviving members of the team to be free since he has the information on America's involvement with Project Starfish.
Personality[]
Ratcatcher 2 was a very friendly and approachable person who managed to win the good favours of her teammates very quickly, she was also very compassionate and sympathetic as shown from how even after he tried to eat her she still was kind to King Shark, offering for her and the rest of the team to become his friends in exchange for not being eaten. She also had a strong bond and love for rats as her name would suggest and was particularly close to her rat companion Sebastian. Over the course of the film, Ratcatcher 2 became increasingly attached to her teammates and was left devastated by the deaths of both Polka Dot Man and Rick Flag.
As a child, Ratcatcher 2 was very close to her father and even after growing up, she still remembers him fondly with her taking up his original mantle of Ratcatcher following his death.

- Mind Control: Can control the minds of rats by giving them tasks, such as cornering King Shark and later eat Starro.
- Genius-level Intellect: Despite growing up poor, Cleo is highly intelligent, being able to create better technology than her father to control rats.
- Bilingualism: Cleo can speak native Portuguese and English.
