The Raven Guard are recurring protagonists in the Warhammer 40K franchise.
They are the XIXth Legion of the Adeptus Astartes and one of the original 20 of the First Founding. Lead by their Primarch the shadowy Corvus Corax, the Raven Guard are the stealth and covert specialists of the Space Marines, infiltrating and eliminating their enemies without them ever even knowing they were there. Tragically, they were one of the Loyalist Legions who fell victim to the dropsite massacre, and while their losses were still extreme, they survived the crisis much more intact than their cousins did. 10,000 years later in the Era Indomitus, they remain the elite shadow warriors of The Imperium and have many successor Chapters. They are the most bitter and hated archenemies of the Alpha Legion.

The Raven Guard are the foremost masters of stealth and guerilla warfare of the Space Marines. While they share many traits with their fallen brethren the Alpha Legion, while the heretic hydras prefer infiltration and slow corruption to win their wars without spilling a drop of blood in open warfare, the Raven Guard are the most elite blades in the dark the Imperium has to offer. Master assassins and terrifying in combat, they find and destroy their enemies without ever giving themselves away, like a suffocating shroud of darkness of which escape is impossible and silences its target in the blink of an eye. One can even they say are the Space Marine equivalent of ninjas, shadowy warriors of the night. They even shun the standard Space Marine power armor in favor of a much lighter, and quieter model that better serves their specialties and goals.
