Rayshelle Peyton is the new permanent Bart's teacher at Springfield Elementary School in The Simpsons.
She first appeared in the episode "My Octopus and a Teacher" and is voiced by Kerry Washington as recurring role, who also plays Alicia Masters in Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Appearance[]
Rayshelle Peyton has black hair with a rose hairband. She wears deep sky-blue glasses, purple earrings, wristbands, pink collarless inside blue skirt with a belt, purple pants leggings, and rose low-heeled shoes.
Biography[]
Before becoming a teacher[]
Rayshelle Peyton and her husband Darryl have moved to Springfield from Ghana and staying at Paradiso del Mare to find her new job.
In Bart's flashback, while Lisa is doing the documentary, Rayshelle sees that Bart is drowning and needs to be saved. She jumps into the pool to dive in to save Bart from drowning. However, instead of being grateful, Bart was embarrassed and shouted at her claims that he was an amazing swimmer and then ran away from her. She didn't know his name and referred to him as an "angry drowning boy."
Becoming a teacher[]
At Springfield Elementary School, in the office, Principal Skinner and Chalmers welcome a new teacher. As Skinner and Rayshelle leave his office, she meets Milhouse and Nelson, but Bart encounters her again after she saved Bart from drowning at Paradiso del Mare. He hides behind a locker. She states that looks familiar to him while she was in Paradiso del Mare. Subsequently, Bart starts acting weird.
In class, while the kids are doing work, she goes to Bart where he writes his paper with glue which he couldn't control himself. The next morning, before the assembly, she has an assignment for the kids to take their homework out. She goes to Milhouse first, but Bart destroys his own project. Bart then takes his stone and throws it out of the window. All kids keep away from Bart due to out of control. Later day, Ms. Peyton discuss with Homer and Marge about Bart behavior problems. She has tried to do her every intervention.
In the gym, Ms. Peyton is doing the new Seven Wonders of the World assembly, but Bart turns the worst and ends up screaming and destroying everything when an octopus Molly stuck him on his face. The assembly ends abruptly due to Bart having destroyed everything. Ms. Peyton was about to give up her career, but Skinner suggested switching classes. The next day, back in the classroom, Bart apologizes to Ms. Peyton for ruining everything. He has one more thing to tell the truth and wears his swimming goggles. She was then shocked to see him familiar while she was in Paradiso del Mare. Bart asks to want to pack her up, but she decided to stay and continue teaching.
Later the episodes[]
In "Hostile Kirk Place," during the PTA meeting, Kirk demands to stop teaching Great Springfield Gazebo. Ms. Peyton admits that it was his fault.
In the episode "A Mid-Childhood Night's Dream", Ms. Peyton picks up collapsed Marge. When Marge wakes up and tells her during the meeting in her dream, she told that wouldn't say that and Bart's childhood isn't over.
Rayshelle Peyton appears in Clan of the Cave Mom. During the parent-teacher association meeting, Marge got angry at Luann over what her son did to the third-grade production of West Side Story. Then the fight broke out, but she pulls Marge away from fighting Luann.

In the non-canon episode "Bart's Birthday", Rayshelle Peyton appears in the Simpson House for Bart's 11th birthday with crowds.
She also appeared in The Simpsons: Tapped Out during the Season 33 Prize Track Promotional (part 4) for a limited time.

- The former fourth-grade teacher Edna Krabappel was retired from the show since the episode "The Man Who Grew Too Much" from Season 25 after Marcia Wallace died from breast cancer.
