Red (Banished From The Hero's Party)

Hero Overview

Gideon Ragnason, also known as Red (レッド, Reddo), is the main protagonist of the Japanese light novel, manga, and anime series Banished From The Hero's Party I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside. He is a D-Rank adventurer from the nearby settlement of Zoltan who makes a living gathering and selling herbs in the hopes of one day making enough to open his own shop and living a quiet life. He is blessed with the "Sign of the Guide" which allows him to summon and lead heroes on their journey, he was once a member of a very famous party.

He was voiced by Yūichirō Umehara in drama CD and Ryōta Suzuki in anime series in Japanese and Aaron Campbell in English.

Biography[]

Red is a young man blessed with a thirty-level headstart since birth. As his Blessing indicates, his role is to guide people down the paths they are destined to live. Having trained with the Bahamut Knights since childhood, by seventeen he was deemed powerful enough to be an obvious addition to the party of the Hero, who so happens to be his younger sister Ruti.

However, as his Blessing is limited to that headstart, he began falling behind his comrades-in-arms and was eventually kicked out by the party Sage, Ares. Ever since, Gideon has settled down in the frontier town of Zoltan as "Red", where he uses the knowledge he gained throughout his journey to run an apothecary.

Appearance[]

Gideon is a tall man, with short, unkempt, black hair, pale skin, and black eyes. He's always seen wearing a white shirt partially covered by a small blue cloak. He has a brown belt with a brown waist belt strapped to it, dark blue pants, and extremely long brown boots on his feet and covering his legs.

Personality[]

Red is naturally affable and is a very pleasant companion to be with; this quality of his is what made Rit immediately fall in love with him, and is the reason the Hero's Party held together for as long as it did despite its members' wildly contrasting personalities. Additionally, he is easily able to befriend people due to his likeability and his humility. Red puts his pride behind if it can save lives, which quickly changed Rit's opinion of him.

Trivia[]

Red truly gets a happy ending he justly deserved. He got to open his own shop. Gets to be with the love of his life. And even his sister Ruti joins him, becoming free of the curse of being a hero. He finally killed Ares. All in all, getting banished by the entitled jerk from the hero's party was the best thing that happened to him.
