Red Ruby (레드 루비, 紅心妍) is one of the main protagonists of Rainbow Bubblegem, being one of the Seven Mermaid Princesses. Hailing from the Seahorse Kingdom, Red Ruby helps Purple Star in her quest to stop Black Diamond. In her Magical Girl form, Ruby gets the identity "Shining Red."
Ruby is voiced in the Korean dub by Jo Gyeong-Lee. In the Chinese dub, she is voiced by Qing Leng. The Indonesian dub has her voiced by Marin Ifa Hasmarina. In the English Dub, has her voiced by Lexi Piñata.

Physical Appearance[]
Ruby has fair skin, red eyes with hearts in them, and long vermillion hair. As with her fellow Mermaid Princesses, Ruby can shift between three forms.
Ruby is naturally a mermaid; in this form, she has a vermillion tail whose fins have a heart shape and wears a golden tiara with a red heart on it and a pinkish-red top. As a human, she has a pink dress with a purple skirt, and a black necklace with a heart on it. Underneath the dress's skirt is a pair of purple trousers. As footwear, Ruby has purplish-red Mary Jane shoes and white socks. When she powers up into Shining Red, Ruby wears a reddish-pink cap and pink dress with a rainbow heart, pinkish-red gloves, and pinkish-red boots with rainbow outlines, and wields a wand with a heart-shaped head. This form also gives her pink heart-shaped wings that can retract.
Personality[]
Ruby is undoubtedly the most feminine Mermaid Princess, being very concerned about her appearance and looking at her own face in the mirror. She is very confident, though this can give her a spoiled, haughty, and condescending persona at times. She is also short-tempered and hates being humiliated, but is very sweet and caring to those close to her heart.
Powers and Abilities[]
As Shining Red, Ruby wields a wand known as the "Heart Wand," which she launches heart-shaped lasers from. Ruby can transform the wand into whatever form she desires. Additionally, she can grow and retract heart-shaped wings to fly, and can use them to blow wind. The impacted area is marked with glittering sparkles.

- Due to her personality and her habit of looking beautiful, Red Ruby is similar to the Disney version of Princess Alana from The Little Mermaid.
- While she is themed around the colour red, Ruby actually looks more pink than red.
- Ruby's obsession with looking beautiful is similar to Lola Loud from The Loud House.
