Reg (レグ, Regu) is the deuteragonist in the anime/manga Made in Abyss.
He is what people call an “Aubade”, a mysterious being of unknown origin and age who lost his past memories before his encounter with Riko. He was named after a dog she owned, known as “Reg”, which happened to be also his past name before meeting her. Possessing a seemingly artificial body, he is completely immune to the Strains of Ascension, giving him the alias of “The Treasure of the Deep”.
He was voiced by Mariya Ise in Japanese.

Personality[]
Strong in Body, Weak in Mind: Reg possesses insurmountable amounts of survival skills and fighting ability, but in contrast, he is timid, naïve, insecure and unassertive. He often blushes and cries when in distress, proven when he lost someone dear to him.
Soul Searcher: After being discovered by Riko and awakened with jolts of electricity, he lost his past memories, not knowing where he came from or why he was here. As a result, he had made it his goal to discover his past.
Embarrassment: He can get quite embarrassed when anyone picks on his private part, which happens to seem organic and not artificial. This is shown when Riko asked Reg about it.
Sworn Duty: Despite having not enough courage to do so, Reg made it his sworn duty to protect Riko at all costs, and wouldn’t hesitate to put up a fight.
Fight-or-Flight: When he’s in danger, he can get hot-tempered, contrasting Riko’s calm, analytical side. He also shows amounts of cowardice, as he nervously made a crude cut on Riko’s arm.
