Nice to meetcha, Mochizuki Touya, Touya being your given name. I used my foresight to see you a lot in the future, so it doesn't really feel like I'm meeting you for the first time ever... Even so, howdy.
~ Regina revived as an android and her first meeting with Touya.

Professor Regina Babylon, also later known as Airframe 29, is one of the three overarching protagonists (alongside the World God and Ende) of the In Another World With My Smartphone franchise. She serves as the posthumous overarching protagonist of Light Novel volumes 1 to 9 and one of the secondary protagonists in Light Novel volumes 10 onward.

She is a foremost genius and a legendary magitechnician from the ancient past, 5000 years ago, who hailed from the ertswhile Partheno Sacred Empire. She is the namesake creator of the Babylon Sisters and the Phrase-destroying robots known as the Frame Gears. Due to perceiving within Touya Mochizuki's future through clairvoyance, and with her posthumously playing on Touya's goodwill within the new world to initiate her resurrection, Regina is retroactively responsible for the present events of the entire series.

She is voiced by Minako Kotobuki in Japanese, who voiced Rikka Hishikawa in DokiDoki PreCure, and by Terri Doty in English.

Appearance[]

Regina is shown as a woman in her 20s with long, untidy blonde hair that falls to her waist, round glasses, and a cigarette in her lips. She is dressed in a sloppy-looking jacket, skirt, and white lab coat.

After a brain transplant, her mind was transplanted into a gynoid, giving her the appearance of a 10-year-old girl with long golden hair that reaches her waist and jade eyes. It is that she was once mistaken as a child, despite having a five millennia-year-old mind.

Personality[]

She is a genius, but is known to have unrestrained sexual tendencies. When she first saw Touya Mochizuki, she lowered her skirt to reveal her go-to black lace panties. She enjoys making Touya laugh by creating inappropriate scenarios.

She has an obsession with coming up with new innovations and learning about novel technology that can be studied, repeated, and improved. She is a die-hard mecha anime enthusiast and gets her ideas for Frame Gear's designs and weapons from watching robot animes in Touya's home world. She is incredibly curious about Earth's technology and keen to understand how things operate there.

Background[]

Past[]

Before the current events of the story began, Regina Babylon lived some 5000 years ago. In her era, she was the most brilliant person to ever exist. Professor Deborah Elks, a master of magic craft in Partheno Sacred Empire and her longtime rival, arrives in second place much behind her.

She used her magic tool to glimpse into the future, and it was around 5092 years ago that she started to develop the gynoids and the Babylon. She discovered Touya Mochizuki via her clairvoyance ability and developed a significant interest for him. She then built the Babylon as her gift to Touya, along with nine gynoids—the same number as the number of Touya's wives, according to what she saw in her clairvoyance — based on her best-guess assessment of his tastes.

To the dismay of others, several of the gynoids either proved to be pointless (Fam's unwillingness to put down the book when necessary, Noel's laziness, and Parshe's awkwardness), or bothersome (Cesca's frank perversion and Tica's lolicon obsession).

The King of Partheno begged Regina to take the Royal family and nobility to Babylon so they could escape the Phrase, but Regina refused him out of disdain since she thought he would desert his people in order to protect his own reputation and not out of genuineness. Regina had her brain taken out and put in the final gynoid, airframe #29. She chose not to live out the rest of her days organically.

Regina had Atlantica put up a timer to force Touya to provide the magic because she needed a lot of power to activate her new nigh-immortal eternal body. Regina was capitalising on Touya's morality to save lives.

Revival and the Present[]

Later, Touya discovered the Research Lab and carried out her predetermined strategy, resurrecting Regina from the dead as a gynoid. His smartphone caught her attention right away since she thought it was modern technology. Touya explained that he was from Earth, an other world that was much more developed than the one we live in. To avoid jeopardising her world, Regina made the decision to concentrate on more mundane technologies after hearing Touya's warnings about the two World Wars his world had experienced.

She currently spends her time designing new Frame Gear models, weapons, and gear in addition to replicating Earth technology, such as Touya's smartphone and constructing automobiles for public use.

Regina made trouble across Brunhild Dukedom during the events of Interlude II: Doctor Babylon's Strange Love. In the Storehouse Parshe discovered a magic transfer bag and presented it to her. Yumina, Lu, Elze, Yae, and other girls were among those who had their panties taken by Regina using its 【Apport】 ability. When Touya saw what Regina was planning, he swiftly stopped her. Yae spanked Regina, but not realising she wasn't the small girl she looked to be, much to Regina's chagrin.

Abilities[]

  • All Magic Attribute - Along with Touya Mochizuki, she is the second individual who has been presented who is adept at all aspects of magic. The distinction between Touya and Regina is that Touya was endowed by the God of Worlds with all of the magical traits, whilst Regina possessed them all by nature.
  • Analyze - Her own personal Null Magic. She may use it to investigate any artifact's internal mechanisms.
  • Genius-Level Intelligence - She is possibly one of, if not the smartest characters in the whole series. She produced a great deal of fantastic works that were much ahead of their time during her time in Parteno. The Babylon Sisters, Babylon, and the Frame Gears are among of her most famous creations.

Trivia[]

  • In the light novel illustrations, her eye colour as an Airframe android is red, whereas in the web novels and light novels it is coloured green.
  • After Touya told her Albert Einstein's famous theory warning about how World War Three would destroy all technology, Regina doesnt look into earth weaponry and focuses solely on domestic appliances and machines.
