Rena Hirose is a major character in the video game Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere. She is a UPEO ace pilot who aspires to stay in the skies due to her Silverstone disease limiting her in physical activity, and said aspiration allows Abyssal Dision to manipulate Rena into assisting him in his plans.
She was voiced by Yuri Shiratori.
Biography[]
Past[]
Rena was born on April 27, 2021. Due to having Silverstone disease, sunlight was deadly to her, and she had to stay indoors or wear a protective suit in daytime.
At the age of nine Rena joined General Resource, where she met Abyssal Dision. General Resource used the girl as a test subject for the Darkness of Enigma project, which involved her flying the Night Raven plane. When the project was shut down due to ethical concerns, the Night Raven was taken away. Rena quit GR and joined UPEO, eventually becoming one of SARF's top pilots.
Electrosphere[]
At the start of every game, Rena is one of Nemo's wingmen, alongside Erich Jaeger and Fiona Fitzgerald, attempting to subdue General Resource and Neucom before their conflict can become a full-blown war. Though most story branches see her defecting to Ouroboros under the promise of getting to fly the Night Raven again, her ultimate fate largely depends on the player's choices thoughout the campaign.
General Resource path[]
During the Ouroboros uprising, Nemo and Keith Bryan fight Rena in Geofront, destroying the city and taking her with it.
General Resource-Ouroboros path[]
Nemo turns on Dision and Rena and kills the latter thanks to Keith's sacrifice.
UPEO path[]
Assuming Nemo hesitates to kill Fiona and delegate Clarkson as ordered, Rena does it for them. She still joins Ouroboros, just as Gilbert Park orders the rest of SARF to do, but soon after turns on Dision and apparently dies fighting him. The ending reveals that she survived the crash, and shows her waving at Erich and Nemo after they've defeated both Dision and Park.
Neucom path[]
Nemo and Fiona defear Rena with Simon Cohen's help. While she doesn't die in this rending, the crash still renders her comatose.
Neucom-Ouroboros path[]
Nemo and Cynthia defect from Ouroboros and defeat Rena and Dision.
Trivia[]
