~ Reptile to Taven in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon's Konquest Mode.

Syzoth, nicknamed Reptile, is a reptilian warrior from a destroyed realm called Zaterra who has acted as both a villain and a anti-hero in the Mortal Kombat series of fighting games. His main goal is to resurrect his race, The Zaterrans. While Reptile acted as a villain throughout the original timeline, he becomes more anti heroic in the rebooted timeline when he serves Kotal Kahn.

He was voiced by Marz Timms in Mortal Kombat (2011) and prolific voice actor Steve Blum in Mortal Kombat X.

Biography[]

Backstory[]

Syzoth is a member of the Zaterran race, who originated in Earthrealm, but fled to the Realm of Zaterra in the long distant past. After milennia the Zaterrans were conquered by Shao Kahn of Outworld, seemingly leaving Syzoth as the last of his people, and he would be nicknamed Reptile afterwards. As revealed in the Mortal Kombat X comics, Reptile was ordered by Shao Kahn to participate in Shang Tsung's Mortal Kombat tournament in Earthrealm, the emperor expressing doubts over the sorcerer's true intentions. Though Reptile intended not to compete, he dreamed of winning and possibly discovering a way to revive his people.

Main article: Reptile (3rd Timeline)

As well as the New Era incarnation of Reptile, an alternate version of him can be seen as part of the Union of Light.

Appearance[]

Reptile's appearance is always mutating due to been moved along from his homeland, going from a humanoid green ninja to a humanoid reptile.

Personality[]

Reptile can be described by one word: Tragic, He is somewhat incompetent and honorable, accepting deals from others and always paying with gratitude, He harbors a great hatred towards Shao Kahn for exterminating his race.

Reptile is loyal and is respectful to his allies, even towards Shao Kahn, even though the emperor only used Reptile and his race to benefit himself. Reptile also enjoys striking fear into his enemies, and he doesn't like weakness or cowardice. He prefers the new rules and laws of Outworld that were created by Kotal Kahn far better than Shao Kahn and Onaga's rules because the changes now help all Outworlders.
