Retz is a supporting protagonist of the non-canon film Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rouge which was only a character for this film, and is not related to the main story whatsoever. She was a traveling puppeteer and is the sister of the main antagonist Omokage, who has killed her to make her a puppet since he has perfected the technique of transferring eyes.
She is voiced by Aya Hirano in the Japanese version, and by Kayli Mills in the English version.
Appearance[]
Retz is a short young female who first appeared to dress as a boy. She had short blonde hair wearing a light-blue skull cap which keeps more of her hair hidden. She wore light-blue overalls, blue gloves, and yellow sneakers. Throughout the whole movie, Retz had turquoise eyes, which is later revealed that its actually her brother's eyes, but her original eyes were disembodied which is the same color as her brothers.
Later in the movie, we see more of her long blonde hair that is somewhat a little wavy with bangs. She wore Gothic-lolita red and black dress with black leggings and gray shoes. She also had a fancy red and black bow on top of her head.
Personality[]
Retz was a young talented puppeteer who would dress as a boy due to protect herself, claiming it is dangerous for girls to travel alone like she is. She was a happy and very sweet to others, who was able to bond with Gon quickly. She seems to be more augmentative and determined when talking to Killua. After Retz told Gon and Killua that she has longed for the day to feel alive, Killua became suspicious of her. She also had an intense desire to help Gon and Killua with their mission.
Retz has claimed to be jealous of Gon and Killua's friendship, such they are so close. She also seems to be afraid of her brother, since he was the one who revived her into a manipulable doll so he could control her whenever he wants to.
As a doll, she has always wondered what life would truly be like. She has also developed her own feelings and intentions with her bond with Gon and Killua, and grew to be fond of them. She thanks the both of them of what they have done, claiming that she can now live a real life, not as a puppet but in people's memories.
History[]
Sitting lifeless in front of her Retz, she is shown to be a eyeless clothes-less puppet, with bloddy eyeballs laying on the ground. During the process, Omokage apologizes to his little sister for not mastering the technique of transferring eyes, killing her so he can make her into a puppet.
