Ri Hyou, formerly known just as Hyou, is a deuteragonist and posthumous character in the historical seinen anime and manga series, Kingdom. He is the adoptive brother to Ri Shin and a member of the Ei Sei Faction as he was employed as a body double to Ei Sei, the 31st king of Qin in order to protect him from any assassination attempts.
An orphan who lost his entire family through the acts of war, Hyou was taken by a local village mayor in order to be raised as a servant. But knowing he wasn't satisfied with a life of servitude, Hyou trained himself in the ways of martial arts as he dreamt of one day going to the battlefield to achieve fame and reward while one day becoming the Greatest General underneath the Heavens as a Great General. Later in his childhood, he met a fellow war orphan and his future adoptive brother, Shin as he inspired him to take up the sword while also sharing the same dream as they both trained together for years to come while hoping to someday go to the battlefield. However, at around 15 years old, Hyou would die before realizing his dream after performing his duties as the official body double for the king of Qin and his death would bring about the meeting of Shin and Ei Sei.
In the anime series, he was voiced by Jun Fukuyama who has provided the voices of Ren Amamiya from Persona 5, Yuuta Togashi from Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai!, Korosensei from Assassination Classroom, Yukio Okumura Blue Exorcist, Lelouch vi Britannia from Code Geass, Yumichika Ayasegawa from Bleach, Halequin/King from The Seven Deadly Sins, and Kimihiro Watanuki from xxxholic.
