I am Richter Belmont, last descendant of the Belmont clan and I kill vampires! Who's fucking next?!
He is a member of the legendary Belmont family, who tries to find out the mysterious "Vampire Messiah", a rumor that has been spreading all over Europe and other vampires alike. After the death of his mother, he was taken in by Tera, a Speaker magician, and works with her daughter, Maria, on hunting vampires.
He is voiced in English by Edward Bluemel and by Kazuki Ura (who also voiced Yoichi Isagi in Blue Lock) in the Japanese dub.

In the year 1783 in Boston, Massachusetts, a little boy name Richter Belmont is guided by his mother, Julia, to a ship where it will take him to France to be with his distant cousin Tera. Despite his protest, Julia is doing it for his safety until they were interrupted by a vampire named Olrox. He witness the two fight each other until she was killed by the vampire, who revealed to be doing this for the price of vengeance for his fallen lover, who Julia have killed. Traumatized by the event, Richter grabbed his mother's whip and head to the ship to depart to France. From there he was taken in by his cousins, Tera and Maria Renard, who raised him like thier own.
Nine years later in Western France, Richter teams up with Maria on their revolution against the upper class while also fighting vampires along the way. While killing one, a vampire tells Richter about a "Vampire Messiah" and incoming events that will come but Richter takes it with a grain of salt. Both Maria and Richter report this news to the Abbot, who rebuffs the news thinking of it as nonsense. They want to look into the Marquis but the Abbot refuse claiming that the Marquis is a pillar of his community. They leave and ready to head back home since Tera is making them dinner. While having dinner, Richter has a nightmare of his mother's death, he wakes up and express his love for Maria and Tera until they heard night creatures outside. They fought against them until Richter got overwhelmed by one and is reminded of his trauma again until he was saved by two people. They reveal themselves to be Annette and Edouard and explain what those monsters are and mention that there is a forgemaster in France.
Later on, they explain the Vampire Messiah rumor to them and mention her name is Erzsebet Bathory, which shocks Tera. Tera explains her traumatic background relating to Erzsebet Bathory with Richter understanding what she has experience. Richter, Maria, Annette, and Edouard heads to the chateau in order to find out what the Marquis is planning with the other vampire nobles. But when the vampires notice them, the group fights back until they decided to retreat due how many vampires are in the chateau. They finally return back but with the cost of Edouard's life, who died at the hands of the vampires. Later on, during Annette speech to the French revolutionaries they are attacked by night creatures. One night creature attacks another to save Annette but Annette informs him that it was Edouard as a night creature since she recognize its face.
He tries to cheer Annette up and tells her that it is too late to save him then they start their infiltration plan of the Abby's basement due to the suspicion of a Forgemaster in their mitts. They go into the secret passage that Tera has mention and discover the many night creatures in the basement of the Abby's church. They fought the many night creatures in thier way with Richter fighting the Marquis. But when Olrox appears he is once again visited by his trauma then runs away from the chaos with everyone doing the same. Richter runs to a lake and starts to cry from what has transpired. While walking in the street, he encounters three female revolutionaries, who gave him a white bandana. They ask him to join them but he sadly refuse and walks to a bar. He tries to order some food but somehow it has been already paid for by an old man sitting in the corner. He tries to talk to the man until a vampire arrives looking for him. Richter tries to find his whip until the old man took it from him to kill the vampire. Richter ask who he is but gains an unexpected answer that the old man turns out to be his grandfather, Juste Belmont. Furious, Richter ask Juste where he has been all over his life Juste responds that he thought it was for the best. Juste goes further to explain his depressing past and how much he has fallen in life, they start to bond for a bit until they were interrupted by a group of Bathory's minions.
Richter gains the confidence to fight back and finally finds the motivation to be a vampire hunter.
After successfully capturing them, the leader of the group mocks them, saying that his family will be threaten or be turn into vampires if they are lucky. But after having a quick flash of his mother's death realizing it will happen the same to his new family, he managed to summon powerful magic and with the help of Juste, killed their captures. With this new found motivation, he returns back to his family before its too late. He finds Maria nearly killed by the Marquis's wife but he saves her in time by using his magic-induced whip to kill the vampire. They go back home and he went to apologize to Annette for running away and promise to get Edouard out with the power of his ancestor's magic at his side. Later on, they found Olrox in the area and split up to find him. Richter tries to confront the vampire but Olrox tells him that he is not here to fight him and ask him to read the Abbot's book in order to destroy the machine in the Abby's basement.
Richter witnessed the eclipse caused by Erzsebet Bathory.
Next day, they are visited by Mizrak, who gives urgent news on Maria being sacrifice by Emmanuel. They quickly head their way to the church until they notice the blackened sun, which means Erzsebet succeed in her plan of blocking out the sun. Once they made it into the church, the Abbot's night creatures start to attack them. After freeing Maria, Drolta and her minions arrive with Richter being the one to fight her while the others face her minions. Once Erzsebet arrives, everyone throws all of their power on her with Richter using his magic to burn her but backfires. After the reveal of wanting to turn Tera into a vampire, Richter takes the unconscious Maria and leaves the church with Annette at his side. They run far away as possible and is reunited with Mizrak until Drolta arrives attempting to kill them. All seems to be lost until a mysterious warrior arrives and kills Drolta. He reveals himself to be Alucard, the son of Dracula, who is here to assist the group on defeating Erzsebet Bathory.

~ Richter talks about wanting to live up to his family's legacy.
Richter is a young overconfident man, who carries the Belmont legacy of hunting monsters. He is kind and loving towards his family and is supportive of them despite their standings on the Revolution. He admits that though may not care about the revolution or Maria's opinions on it, he will always be at their side because he loves them dearly. Unlike his ancestor, who was a depress misanthrope, Richter shows eagerness when it comes to fighting vampires and other monsters alike to the point of overconfidence. While at that, he claims to not really care much of the reason to fight vampires other than the excitement of it. Anytime, he is fighting them he gets ahead of himself for a bit while yelling his own name out during the infiltration of the Abby's basement. But in actuality, Richter is a traumatized boy, who is angry with himself for not confronting his past trauma and what he wants in his life, which leads him to develop a lack of motivation to be a vampire hunter. He witness his mother's death in the hands of her enemy and became frustrated with himself that he was unable to do something about it other than fighting vampires. He claims to not care about hunting vampires but this is lie since he wants to kill all vampires after what he has experience. Richter really wants to honor the legacy of his family but can't due to his flaws including the fact that he views himself useless after losing his ability to cast magic.
When he discovered that he has a grandfather, he became furious with the man and wondering where he has been all over his life. This gotten worse when Juste mentions he was hunting vampires for money to donate to Tera and wanted to keep his identity a secret especially the fact he was watching over him. But after bonding with him, he started to develop a bit of an connection to him and relating to his grandfather's depressing attitude. All seem lost when they were captured by vampires, who seek to kill them both, but Richter notice this moment is a repeat of his mother's death. Out of defiance to the vampires, he threw a huge horde of magic at them. This is because Richter has finally found the motivation on being a vampire hunter, which is to protect his loves ones in that way he was able to confront his trauma and gain the confidence to stand up against those who seek to harm them. After his moment of prowess, he thanks his grandfather and gain an understanding with each other. In a way, Richter showed Juste that there is a means to overcome grief.
Appearance[]
Richter wears a long blue coat with a belt around his torso, bracers, and high-knee boots. On the back of his coat is a silver crest of the Belmont family. Physically-wise, Richter is a 19-year-old young man with brown hair, blue eyes, and light skin.

Maria[]
Maria and Richter have a sibling relationship that is fitting for teenagers. The two tend to talk back at each other with Maria calling him a "wanker" and expecting him to have beer one time despite how young he is. They get along just fine as siblingings despite Maria and Tera being his cousins. They strongly love each other as a family with Maria understanding what he has went through when his mother died. Though Richter does not care much about the revolution, he says that he will always be there for Tera and Maria, showing how supportive he is for those that are close to him.
Annette[]
Annette was sent to find Richter in order to defeat Erzsebet Bathory and stop her plans of blocking the sun. Interestingly, both suffer the same form of trauma of witnessing their own mothers being ruthlessly killed by a vampire. Annette witnessed her mother killed by the ruthless slave master Vaublanc and Richter witnessed his mother killed by Olrox. In a way, they do relate to each other about what they experience and are willing to work with each other to fight the vampires in France despite being argumentative with each other but that soon changes when Richter meets Olrox again. When Richter ran away Annette's opinion on him start to change, where she starts to view him as a coward and useless. But they later regrew their bond when Richter got his magic back. When showing his magic both of them started to blush, implying they are attracted to each other.

Richter's appearance in the anime is a combination of his original and Dracula X Chronicles designs.

Richter is shown to not be aware of the rest of his family after his mother, suggesting he may not be the last Belmont as he thinks. Pay in mind at least 30 generations after Trevor and Sypha would have mingled with the other families at "Treffy" village, where Alucard lives.
