Rio Futaba is a supporting character in the light novel, anime and manga series Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai.
She was voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki in Japanese and Jenny Yokobori (who also voiced Kumiko Albertson in The Simpsons, Naganohara Yoimiya in Genshin Impact, and Elice in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light) in English.
Personality[]
The only Science Club member, Rio is very intelligent and passionate about science, with extensive knowledge of chemistry and quantum physics. She's blunt by nature and has an even sharper sense of humor than Sakuta. She was skeptical about Adolescence Syndrome at first, but since she experienced the syndrome herself, she did acknowledge the supernatural phenomena, connecting them with scientific theories and principles. Despite coming across cold, she's kind and supportive, helping Sakuta solve Puberty Syndrome cases. She's also more sensitive and insecure than she lets on, as seen in her arc where she deals with the self-consciousness about her early developed body. During the summer break where she still went to the club, her Puberty Syndrome case happened, with two versions of her existing - one of the two seeks validation of her body, frequently posting pictures online.
Appearance[]
Rio Futaba is a bespectacled and attractive girl of average height, with light brown eyes and grey hair. She normally wears her school uniform and her lab coat. Her precociously developed and slender yet very voluptuous body, with a large bust, is a source of anxiety for her. This causes her case of Adolescence Syndrome, with her splitting in two - the split version of Rio having her hair tied in a ponytail and wears contacts instead of glasses.
