“ | I'm a scientist, really. I prefer thinking, strategy, and proving hypothesis to physical altercations or fisticuffs. But that's not to say that I'm inexperienced in them. In fact, I've studied and mastered the martial arts and fighting techniques of cultures and societies from B.C. to the end of time. You say you're doing what should be done? I say something else entirely. Simply put, Junior... your ass is mine. | „ |

Biography[]
Earth One[]
On Earth One, Ripley "Rip" Hunter is the leader of the Time Masters, and goes on adventures with his girlfriend Bonnie Baxter, friend Jeff Smith, and Bonnie's brother Corky. Hunter was later recruited into the Forgotten Heroes by the Immortal Man, and later helped Superman stop an alien invasion. After the Immortal Man was killed during the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Hunter helped many heroes fight the Anti-Monitor. The fight against the Anti-Monitor resulted in the destruction of the multiverse, which created the New Earth and left it as the single reality. Hunter would later receive help from Adam Strange, Captain Comet, and the New God Darkseid on stopping the Anti-Monitor for good.
New Earth[]
Rip Hunter spent his entire adult life preparing for enemies a time traveler would face. Fearing that someone might try to travel back in time and kill him as a child, he hid his true name, birthplace, and other details from the public. "Rip Hunter" is, in fact, an alias, and his real father is the time-traveler Booster Gold, a fact that not even Booster knows.
As the inventor of time travel technology in the Post-Crisis universe, Hunter aided heroes Booster Gold and Animal Man in their own time-traveling adventures before taking on the vast Illuminati conspiracy. Hunter was eventually stranded in the prehistoric past. Returning to the present by unknown means, Hunter began protecting earth's heroes from time-traveling villains. In one of his most notable adventures, he took members of the modern day Justice Society back in time to fight the villainous Per Degaton.
New 52[]
On New 52, Hunter witnessed the birth of the new multiverse, and later helped the heroes defeat Mister Mind when he attempted to destroy multiple multiverses. Hunter later revealed to Booster Gold and Daniel Carter that the multiverse was restored thanks to Alex Luthor escaping from the heaven dimension after his Earth One counterpart stopped the Anti-Monitor.
