Robert McCall, aka the Equalizer was the protagonist of the television series The Equalizer.
He was portrayed by Edward Woodward and Queen Latifah in the remake of the tv series.
McCall was a former agent of an undisclosed agency. After retiring from the agency he took it upon himself to form a business in which he would help innocent people facing what appeared to be insurmountable problems. Working with a group of friends he would deliver vigilante justice to "truly deserving" individuals, including rapists, robbers, bad cops, corrupt politicians, and bullies, among others. He would often work with Control, who was the head of the agency McCall used to work for.
