Rocket "Rocky" J. Squirrel is one of the main protagonist of the The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. He serves as one of the two titular protagonists (alongside Bullwinkle) of the franchise of the same name.
He was voiced by June Foray from 1959 until her retirement in 2014 and death in 2017. In the 2018 series, he was voiced by Tara Strong.
Heroic Actions[]
Throughout the series, Rocky and Bullwinkle would go on adventures while running into their arch enemies Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale, who would often disguise themselves; or sometimes their leader Fearless Leader.
Powers[]
Rocky was known for his ability to fly, which was presented with a jet engine sound effect. During the opening title of Rocky and His Friends, Rocky is show performing a solo air show. In some episodes, he either merely knows how to glide, or he has the actual power of flight, such as flying from Minnesota to Washington, D.C.
Sometimes, he would need Bullwinkle's strength to give him an extra boost in flight speed.
Trivia[]
- In the 2014 short film promoting Peabody and Sherman, the film featured his original voice actress June Foray, which was curiously her last performance as Rocky, since she passed away in 2017.
- He is clearly based on the Northern Flying Squirrel as he can fly just like these squirrels in real life.
