Rocky, known as Manuke in the original Japanese version, is the deuteragonist of the Pocky and Rocky series. He is a friendly Nopino Goblin (Yokai in Japanese) who frequently assists Pocky in her adventures.
Biography[]

Manuke was originally one of the mischievous Yokai Sayo-chan had to fight on her journey to save the Seven Lucky Gods. She defeated Manuke and freed him from the spell possessing him.
Pocky and Rocky[]
When his fellow Nopino Goblins suddenly began causing havoc once again and he needed her help to find out what was wrong with them. Suddenly, Pocky's shrine was attacked by a group of Nopino Goblins led by Bean Head, leading Pocky and Rocky to team up to fight them. After defeating the Nopino Goblins and curing them, Pocky and Rocky learned from Bean Head that the Nopino Goblins had been having a party one night when they were visited by a mysterious figure in a black mantle, who had brainwashed them into rampaging. Hearing this, Pocky and Rocky believed the Nopino Goblins in the forest must be in danger and ventured into there to search for any clues.
After fighting through the rampaging Nopino Goblins in the forest, Pocky and Rocky came across the Bamboo Warrior, who declared that he would tell them where the Black Mantle was only if they defeated him. After beating the Bamboo Warrior however, he simply fled the scene and left the pair with no clues as to where Black Mantle was. Nevertheless, Pocky and Rocky ventured onward and eventually entered a riverbed, where they encountered the Gorgonzola Octopus. Revealing the Gorgonzola Goblins were behind the Nopino Goblins' rampage, the Gorgonzola Octopus declared that they were of no more use and that he would defeat Pocky and Rocky himself. After beating the Gorgonzola Octopus, Pocky and Rocky spoke with a group of Kappa, who had been brainwashed by the Black Mantle but were now cured. The Kappa told her that they had seen the Black Mantle talking with a strange group of strange goblins that including the Octopus at the cemetery down below the river, leading Pocky and Rocky to travel there to search for more clues.
The pair went to the graveyard and fought their way through goblins until they got to the Skeletal Bishop, who was surprised to see they had found him. The Skeletal Bishop then declared he'd give them a "reward" and attacked them, but Pocky and Rocky were able to fight him back, causing him to flee inside of the house behind him. Pocky and Rocky then followed him inside the house and came across more goblins. After encountering and defeating a genie, Pocky and Rocky entered an underground passage where they encountered the Skeletal Bishop again. Annoyed by their persistence, the Skeletal Bishop attacked them again but was defeated. After his defeat, Pocky and Rocky discovered that the Gorgonzola Goblins had cast a spell on the Nopino Goblins that was what was making them act up, and that they were coming to invade.
After reaching the end of the underground passage, Pocky and Rocky came outside to find themselves on the side of a mountain near the ocean and noticed a creepy looking ship in the distance, the Gorgonzola fortress. The pair decided to take a bridge across a mountain pass to get to the fortress but encountered more Gorgonzola goblins along the way. They eventually got to a sinister pirate ship crewed by Gorgonzola goblins that attacked them, and boarded it to get to the other mountain where the Gorgonzola fortress was floating by. They eventually came to the other end of the ship where they encountered the Harpy (Eagle Knight in the English version) who stated that Black Mantle was in the castle, but that the pair would never reach him and would die there instead before attacking them. However, Pocky and Rocky managed to defeat it before riding the Gorgonzola pirate ship to the Gorgonzola Fortress where Black Mantle resided.
As Pocky and Rocky stood outside the fortress, Black Mantle congratulated them on making it there but declared that the fortress would be their grave as the pair went inside. The pair fought their way through the fortress until they were confronted by the vampiric Gorgonzola scientist Dr. Lee. After flying in and reverting from his bat form, Dr. Lee announced that Black Mantle had given him permission to use Pocky and Rocky for his experiments after he caught them before attacking the pair. Pocky and Rocky managed to defeat him, causing him to revert to his bat form before disappearing in a poof, and set free all the Nopino goblins being held captive in the prison block of the Gorgonzola fortress.
With the Nopino Goblins freed, Pocky and Rocky headed into the depths of the Gorgonzola fortress to find Black Mantle and face him in a final battle. After fighting through many knight-like Gorgonzolas, Pocky and Rocky were met by their preeminent foe before Black Mantle, the Ghost Knight, and beat him before entering the chamber where Black Mantle resided. Upon being confronted by Pocky and Rocky, Black Mantle expressed his surprise to see that they had made it to him but declared that it would end here before attacking them. After a tough battle, Pocky and Rocky were able to defeat Black Mantle, freeing both the Nopino goblins and the Gorgonzola goblins from his spell, leading Pocky and Rocky to realize that the Gorgonzola goblins were good goblins too who had only been forced to do evil by the curse placed on them by Black Mantle.
Afterwards, the Gorgonzola goblins returned to their faraway home and Rocky said goodbye to Pocky before leaving with the rest of the Nopino goblins to return to their home as the sun set and peace returned to the land.
Pocky & Rocky 2[]
When Princess Luna was kidnapped by evil Oni, Rocky went on an adventure with Pocky again to rescue her.
After they rescued Princess Luna and Pocky said goodbye to the friends they made along the journey, Rocky, Pocky, Bomber Bob and Shinobu climbed on Gordon to ride him back to Pocky's village to celebrate the harvest festival.
Pocky & Rocky with Becky[]
When an evil ghost that Pocky had previously sealed away escaped again, Rocky teamed up Pocky with and their new friend Becky to seal it.
The first major foe Rocky and her friends encountered on their journey was Crow Tengu, who vowed to defeat them, but Pocky and her friends managed to beat it. Their next foe was Nue, who declared itself the strongest and vowed to defeat them, but they beat it as well. Nue was then struck with lightning, disappearing and leaving a portal behind it for Pocky, Rocky and Becky to enter through. The three friends then ventured through a graveyard until they were attacked by Gasha, but defeated it and continued with their journey. They ascended a snowy mountain until they were attacked by Snow Woman, but beat her and caused her to melt before continuing through the portal behind her. Venturing through a grassy field, Pocky, Rocky and Becky were then attacked by a Giant Spider, but defeated it and reverted it to its normal size. The spider then apologized to them before fleeing.
Entering the portal that appeared after it brought Pocky's party to an area littered with stones, which they walked through until they were attacked by Smart Boy. The three defeated Smart Boy and entered the portal behind him to bring them to the final area, where the evil ghost, Giant Snake, resided. Pocky, Rocky and Becky fought Giant Snake and defeated it before sealing it once more. With Giant Snake and the evil ghosts all sealed, Pocky, Rocky and Becky returned home.
