Rodney Cullen is the deuteragonist of the Netflix series, Supacell.
He is potrayed by Calvin Demba.
Biography[]
Background[]
Rodney grew up with mum and his sister. Not much is known about his father. However, it is likely he was not in the picture during Rodney's childhood. His mother meets Gregg, who Rodney has a strong hatred to due to his racist nature.
Rodney would be torn out of the family and would move to a hostle at the age of 16. He also grew up with his best friend and business partner, Spud. His mother always liked Spud and predicted that they'd remain friends for life.
Season 1[]
Rodney is first seen trying to sell drugs to Andre, who explicitly tells him to go way. He later bumps into Michael and attempts to do the same. Rodney asks for Michael to put his number on his phone, but the latter declines even after insinuating he would. Later the same day, Rodney chases after a bus, he picks up speed, as he does, his eyes turn yellow and he outpaces the bus. Within a flash, Rodney finds himself in Scotland. Rodney is later seen in Michael's vision of the future, mastering his superhuman speed and electricity manipulation.
After learning about his superhuman abilities, Rodney uses them to his advantage. However, he doesn't use them for the best of things. Himself and Spud continue to sell drugs and uses his speed to travel around the city to do business. Later down the line, Spud is kidnapped and Rodney tracks him down. As he peruses his mission, he comes face to face with fellow Supers. He is the first to leave the showdown and takes him Spud with him.
He later informs his mum about his friends attack, whilst confronting her about her decision to reject him as a teenager. But not much has changed as she continues to turn her back to him as an adult. In a fit of rage, he paces home and smash up his room. He later contacts Michael so they can track down Spud's attackers as well as finding fellow Super, Andre.
They later group with Sabrina and Tazer. The encounter Krazy and The Hooded Figures. The battle ends with both parties losing life. A few days down the line, the gang of Supers meet and agree to defeat Ray's organisation once and for all.
