Rolf is one of the main characters of the Ed, Edd n Eddy series.

Rolf is an immigrant from a curious and possibly a fictional (probably European) culture labeled "Romania" with odd customs, and he has a thick foreign accent to match. He works on his parents' small farm within the Cul-de-Sac, and leads a scouting group called the Urban Rangers, a Boy Scout like group which includes Jimmy, Plank, and Jonny. Rolf often refers to himself in third person, as well as being the son of a shepherd, in which he takes pride. He hardly minds the Eds unless they make a fool out of him or insult his culture, after which he is not afraid to use brute force. When his superhuman strength is unleashed, it rivals Ed's; however it should be considered that he is the second strongest character in the show since he is seen lifting a tree with difficulty while Ed can lift a house single handed. Rolf's strength depends on his mood rather than his biology.

Rolf confuses the rest of the kids with his unusual customs and food-making. He is one of the few characters who gets respect from all the kids, but his best friend is Kevin, and relates well with Jonny, being an outsider too. He is also exceptionally hairy, and although he has not revealed his age, he claims the hair is premature. He has a strong liking for meat and when he agreed to a bet to not eat meat for a whole day, he became extremely malnourished and had severely lost his muscle tone almost instantly, not even having enough strength to open the cafeteria door or bite through celery. Nobody except himself and his family knows what country he is from, but as every single thing that's linked to him is known, he is most likely from Eastern Europe, however this country he comes from is apparently fictional. Rolf has good terms with the Eds as he called them Ed-Boys. He has a great relationship with Ed (who always loves his animals). He hires those to become "nincompoops" who wished jawbreakers. He only forgives those of their troubles by using either the hat of discipline or eels of forgiveness.

He is voiced by Peter Kelamis, who also voiced Goku and Master Roshi in Dragon Ball Z.

Appearance

Rolf is a young man who has a fair skin complexion, and blue hair. He wears a yellow T-shirt with a red horizontal stripe, light blue jeans, and red shoes with white linings.

Personality

Rolf is a quirky, odd, and usually happy immigrant and culture with odd customs (which he displays frequently, and it often involves a wide variety of meat) and has a thick accent to match. He is the son of a shepherd, a fact in which he takes great pride. He works on his parents' small farm within their backyard, and leads a scouting group called the "Urban Rangers," which includes Jimmy, Jonny, and Plank. Rolf usually refers to himself in third person. His faithful farm animals are three pigs (one of which is named Wilfred), a goat named Victor, at least six chickens (two named Bridget and Gertrude), a cow named Beatrice, and five sheep. He generally appears to be friendly with the Eds (whom he calls the "Ed boys") unless they make a fool out of him or offend him in some way, in which case he is not afraid to use brute force. He seems to be very muscular, but this is usually only shown when he is angry. With his unusual customs and strange food, Rolf confuses the rest of the kids to no end, and his inability to comprehend the culture and customs of his new home is a running gag in the series.

Trivia

• Rolf has the same color clothing scheme as Eddy, a yellow shirt with a red stripe, light blue pants and red shoes.
• Rolf is usually friendly towards the Eds at the first time in the episode he meets them. After all, he will at unexpected times seek them for assistance. In "Scrambled Ed," he asks Edd for a solution to getting rid of the lobsters and leaks in his garden. In "Too Smart for His Own Ed," he asks Ed for help on his homework. In "Mirror, Mirror, on the Ed," he wants Ed's help to stomp on raspberries. In "Who's Minding the Ed?," he asks Ed to look after his farm animals while he was at his family reunion.
• Rolf owns an accordion and is able to play it exceptionally well, as revealed in "Key to My Ed."
• He is also known to own a unicycle, as shown in "Button Yer Ed," "Avast Ye Eds," "Ready, Set... Ed!" and "Mirror, Mirror, on the Ed." In "Ready, Set... Ed!" Rolf claims to have the record for "Unicycle Shenanigans". In "Fa-La-La-La-Ed," he gave the unicycle to Kevin.
• Like Ed, Rolf has a unibrow, but it is thinner and therefore less noticeable than Ed's.
• Rolf fears Eddy's Brother, because he fears Eddy's Brother will steal his chickens, and implies that he has done so before. When Rolf ultimately has the chance to confront Eddy's Brother in Ed Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show, he appeared to stand up for himself, only to send Kevin after him instead.
• Despite his high level of strength, Rolf is still wary of Sarah, and was easily pummeled by her in "Urban Ed." He is also, like the other children of Peach Creek, terrified of the Kanker Sisters.
• Rolf is apparently good at basketball; as he states in "A Pinch to Grow an Ed," he is capable of making up to five baskets in a row. He is also seen frequently playing basketball with Kevin.
• In "Ed or Tails," Rolf mentions that he comes from a long line of village buffoons.
• In "Boom Boom Out Goes The Ed", it is shown that Rolf is a fan of the Miss Arduous Field Worker Pageant and enjoys it so much that when the Cul-de-Sac is struck with a temporary power cut, he and Kevin travel into the sewers in order to use a generator to get his television to work again.
• Rolf, alongside Shaggy, is GeekHeavy's favorite characters to voice impersonate. Rolf appeared in several rap videos such as Where Did All The Love Go Part 1-Final, Hard Time, Love is All We Need, Goodbyes, Where is Edd Boy?, Single D, Edd Boy, and Home, Like Plank Did.
