Roll is the kind-hearted humanoid robot and the little sister of Mega Man and Proto Man, who is created by Dr. Light and became a house keeper for helping around Light's laboratory by both cleaning and cooking. Sometimes, her dream is to open a hospital and use it to help people one day.
Roll is also one of the few female characters in the entire classic Mega Man series so far, and introduced as the only female robot before Plum and Splash Woman orderly appeared throughout the series. Although she was seen in all games except the second, she didn't get a name until Mega Man 3 identified her as "Roll". She and her brother Rock were given their names as a pun on the musical genre "rock-n-roll".
In the Japanese version, she was voiced by Satomi Korogi in Mega Man: Upon a Star, Hiroko Konishi in Mega Man 8 and Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge, Konami Yoshida in Super Adventure Rockman, Kaoru Fujino in the Marvel vs. Capcom series, Yoshimi Ninomiya in Mega Man Powered Up, Hiromi Igarashi in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Yuka Iguchi in Mega Man 11.
In the English version, she was voiced by Robyn Ross in the cartoon series, Andrea Libman in Mega Man: Upon a Star Michelle Gazepis in Mega Man 8, Angie Beers in Mega Man Powered Up, Michele Knotz in Street Fighter X Tekken and Erica Lindbeck in Mega Man 11.

She is the younger "sister" of Mega Man, and plays a supporting role in the first game, and plays a major role in the following games.
