Rory Regan is a former vigilante who sought initially revenge for the destruction of his home, Havenrock, leaving him the sole survivor. However, the Green Arrow convinced him to cease his crusade and use his powers for good. For some time he operated as a member of Team Arrow, using mystical rags of the Devarim to fuel his magic, operating under the codename Ragman, as suggested by Rene Ramirez. Though, after absorbing a nuclear explosion, the rags seemed to stop working, causing Rory to retire from vigilantism.
Biography[]
Rory makes his debut in season five episode "The Recruits", where he comes to Star City to seek vengeance by attacking Evan Wander and Janet Carroll, the Vice President and CEO of AmerTek, who developed the nuclear missiles that destroyed Havenrock. While contesting with Tobias Church/Charon, Oliver Queen / Green Arrow convinces him to let his quest for vengeance go to become a hero and he agrees to join Green Arrow's team. In "Bratva", when the team travels to Russia, Rory is willing to risk his life to stop a nuclear bomb by enclosing it within his suit. Though he survives, he reveals that his rags have lost their power. Considering himself a liability without his powers, Rory leaves the team, but tells Felicity Smoak that he will return. In season seven, Rory has a cameo appearance as part of the "Emerald Archer" documentary, where his identity is made public, and returns to Star City for Oliver Queen's funeral and rejoins Team Arrow to rescue William when kidnapped.
Powers and abilities[]
Rory acquires corrupted souls by absorbing them and adding them as a rag in the suit. Doing this, however, makes the Ragman weak and sick. He could use the physical powers of any number of the corrupted souls that make up his suit. This increases his strength, speed, and stamina with every soul. However, it is difficult to tap into a large number of souls at one time. The Ragman suit will materialize whenever he is in danger, and it can teleport the Ragman to wherever he's needed. Also, The Ragman suit can turn into other forms and weapons.
