Rose (ロゼ Roze?) is a playable character in Tales of Zestiria. She is the leader of the merchant guild, the Sparrowfeathers, as well as the assassins' guild, the Scattered Bones. Her true name, given to her by Sorey, is Wilkis Wilk, which means "Rose is Rose". She's voiced by Mikako Komatsu in the original Japanese version of both the video game and the anime/TV series adaptation, and likewise, by Caitlin Glass in the English dub of both versions.

Overview[]

Rose is very sociable young human woman, who often sets the mood of the group. She's the boss of the Sparrowfeathers merchant guild and possess high resonance with the Seraphim, becoming able to armatize with them immediately upon making the Squire's Pact with Sorey. She wields twin daggers in battle, and is capable of Armatization. After the Final Boss, she succeeds Sorey and becomes the Shepherd. Her true name, given by Sorey when she made her Squire's Pact, is Wilkis Wilk, which means "Rose is Rose."

Personality[]

As the boss of both the Sparrowfeathers and Scattered Bones, Rose has a natural talent for leadership. She has a strong sense of justice and evaluates what kind of person each of her potential victims is before she decides whether to kill them. She does not let her personal feelings get in the way of what must be done. Rose does not like dwelling on negative emotions and may at times appear flippant because of this. She is also very honest, sometimes bluntly so, telling Sorey that his hesitation toward killing hellions that cannot be purified is holding the group back. Rose makes several of her decisions based on instinct, such as when she saves Sorey's life in Glaivend Basin and later tells him that she does not know why she rescued him. She also has a finely-tuned sense of when something is wrong, and her "bad feelings" are usually correct.

Rose is said to be the mood-maker of the party.

Fighting Style[]

Rose fights using two daggers, having two weapon slots for each dagger to emphasize her dual-wielding abilities. Similarly to Sorey, she can perform Armatization with the Seraphim, due to her naturally high resonance. Her mystic artes are Jade Luminescence and Crown of Torment. She also shares a mystic arte with Sorey known as Ultima Elementia. Also, she has an extremely high compatibility with seraphim just like Sorey (which is pointed out as being extremely rare in a human). She is able to effortlessly fuse with them in her first battle, ''and Sorey was barely learning the ropes of fusing with one when he started out. The party learns that Rose has been exposed to seraphic power for a long time by extension of Dezel using her as a vessel to prevent his anger from turning him into a Hellion, and to aid in his own quest for revenge. While Sorey has been around seraphim much longer than Rose, none of them were periodically taking control of his body without him knowing.
