She however found herself in a scheme plotted by the Cult of Diablos, becoming a victim, but subsequently joined Shadow Garden to acquire control and power to save her kingdom from the schemes of the Cult of Diablos. After Perv Asshat and Mordred's death, Rose become the Queen of Oriana while remaining operative with Shadow Garden.
She is voiced by Haruka Shiraishi in Japanese and by Donna Bella Litton in English.
Appearance[]
Rose is an elegant girl in her late teenage years with beautiful long blonde spiral-style hair, comprised of several bangs that reach her waist, and bangs framing her forehead. As a Midgar Academy student, she wears the female student uniform, comprised of a short frilly white skirt adorned with dark blue and golden linings, dark leggings that match her high heels. Her sheath and sword is located on her left behind her waist.
As a shadow garden member, she switched to typical slimebody suit orned with golden linings around her body. Her hair has been cut into shoulder-length by Lambda at the end of Season 1 of the anime. She uses the same sword as she did when she was a Midgar Academy student.
Personality[]
Rose harbors pride, composure, strength, altruism, charm, and sincerity. Her innate trustfulness devoid of any comprehension of deception or falsehood. She consistently exhibits gracious and thoughtful conduct towards all, her respect for Cid blossomed as she witnessed his resilience in their duel, notwithstanding numerous setbacks and injuries. Her affection for Cid grew even stronger when when the latter endangered himself to rescue her from terrorists at school, sparking romantic sentiments within her.
As a child. Rose had unknowingly encountered Cid - disguised as the Stylish Bandit Slayer - who defeated her kidnappers and watching his outstanding swordsplay, Rose perceives swordsfight more as a form of art imbued with profound potential; thus, despite being a princess, began diligently practicing swordsmanship due to the inspiration, fueled by her fervent passion, which propelled her to excel in her endeavors. Although, sometimes her passion would lead her to impulsive decisions, such as her mercy killing her brainwashed and deathly ill father, despite knowing it would vilify her in the eyes of her people.
However, she demonstrates the capacity to change. In practice, her decision to confront the Cult of Diablos and thwart the machinations of the Black Rose upon discovering the truth about the shocking relationship of her mother with Perv Asshat; upon learning her mother had betrayed both her and her father, she collapsed in disgust and profound depression, but was elevated from her stupor by Cid's strong words and his (accidental) gesture of leaving her a wedding ring. This motivated her to rise in her ascension to the position of the queen of her kingdom for a better outcome.
Rose became motivated to rise as a queen worthy of such a title, as to honour her late father, and reject her late mother; she hoped to rescue her people from the machinations of the Cult, even if the people still treat her with scepticism. Another factor is becoming a woman worthy of Cid, as she interpreted all of his inadvertent and self-serving support as his ardent love; thus strangely hoping to be with him some day, while he mistakenly believes that she is on the path to becoming a tyrant that he wants to topple to "save" her people. Ironically, Cid believes the tragedies and his support would ensure her rise to evil, when in fact the opposite is the case.
