I must really be dynamite. Everything I put on is so cute, amazing!
~ Rosie

Rosie (ブーケ Būke?, Bouquet) is the deuteragonist of the Japanese exclusive film Animal Crossing: The Movie (Gekijōban Dōbutsu no Mori). She is one of Ai's best friends since the latter moved to Animal Village. She also befriends Margie as well.

Personality[]

Much like her video game counterpart, Rosie is described as a peppy villager who is often in a good mood who can easily befriend people. In the movie, her traits are noticeably more overt and is prone to extreme amounts of excitement over many things and will ask TV drama-esqe questions which annoys some villagers. There is a running gag in the movie about Rosie not knowing what "cherry pie" means, often asking her friends but receiving no answer.

Appearance[]

Rosie is an iris blue cat with dark blue hair on her head. She has gray eyes and light pink blush circles on her cheeks and a white strip and white tip on her tail. She favors dresses and they change depending on the seasons and events in the village that happen. Like all other villagers, Rosie wears a red kimono at the fireworks festival.

Biography[]

Rosie has lived in Animal Village long before Ai moved in. When Ai delivers her maid outfit on the job, Rosie dances in joy much to her surprise. Upon acknowledging her new neighbor, Rosie asks of her arrival, with TV drama-esque questions. After their first encounter, Rosie, Ai, and Margie, become best friends. Later at the beach, Rosie whispers a rumor to Ai that Apollo is dating Whitney. Soon after informing Ai, Margie explains her on how spreading gossip is wrong, making Rosie miffed. Later, while watching and Alfonso celebrate finding an Ammonite fossil, Rosie wonders why they are happy, stating she has seen more in the beach cave, and soon is swarmed by an ecstatic Yū. Unable to tolerate him, Rosie agrees to help him find them. This sets off a mini adventure, leading them into the depths of a waterfall cave. Despite going through the rough currents of the cave, they stumble upon a Seismosaurus fossil which is the only one not found in the museum. However, the cave collapsed, but the group managed to escape safely. Rosie later celebrates the Fireworks Festival with her friends.

Later, sometime in fall, Rosie questions why Ai did not show up to Margie's farewell party, of which an unknowing Ai replies, asking "Did she go somewhere?" Shocked, Rosie reveals to her the truth that she moved away to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer, to which a depressed Ai runs away. Concerned for her friend, Rosie checks on Ai later that day, who shows her Margie's letter. After Ai and Rosie's conversation, shooting stars appear at the coast, making the two amazed.

Sometime in winter, Rosie decorates her house, hoping to be "this year's winner" of the winter festival. Once the UFO lands, Rosie helps her comrades find the missing UFO pieces. Yū dashes to the beach cave where the piece is located and all attempt to push the boulder away but to no avail, until they are surprised by it moving thanks to the visiting Margie. Yū, despite the struggle and almost falling a few times, climbs up the fossil and retrieves the part and returns to the crash site. Once they return to Gulliver with the parts, several UFOs arrive and one of the gears that Ai was holding turns into a small alien life form and appears to thank her before heading to the other UFOs and makes a constellation of Ai's face, which results in Ai winning the Winter Festival, helping her feel like a true resident of Animal Village.
