Rosie is a supporting character in the adult animated musical comedy series Hazbin Hotel. She is one of the Overlords of Hell, and the owner of fellow Overlord Alastor, who made a deal with her in exchange for power. She is also the ruler of Cannibal Town in the Pride Ring in Hell. Rosie is the sole owner of Rosie's Emporium after Franklin's death and is one of the many Overlords in Hell.
She is voiced by Leslie Kritzer.
Appearance[]
Rosie is a very tall and slender humanoid demoness who stands taller than Alastor and she has a elegant demonic appearance, with wide hips, ghostly pale gray skin, and a mouth with black lips and razor sharp light pink teeth. She also has dusty-pink cheeks, short chin-length white and gray hair in a 1910s bob cut with pink streaks, and like all residents of cannibal town, her eyes are pitch-black with no irises or pupils and displays no physical evidence of having a nose, Rosie has a long black neck.
Rosie's clothing suggests high-class fashion of the 1910s era, which consists of a large, pimped-out sun hat that is colored in a shade of maroon, with two skulls that are colored in a grayish-pink and red-pink, three dark burgundy flower-like decorations located at the brim, and large plumes which are black and pink-red respectively. In addition, her hat also includes pink frilled-trim around it, along with black lining inside.
She wears a long-sleeved pale-maroon and pale-burgundy long dress which includes puffed shoulders, thin pale-maroon swirly-like stripes on the high black collar, black-trimming around the waist and on the long sleeves' ruffled cuffs, and three black stripes and black trim located on the hem. Under her dress, she wears a pair of black kitten heels.

Personality[]
Contrary to what you would expect of a cannibal, Rosie is quite a pleasant and energetic person with a sense of humor. Always speaking amicably to others and giving advice to couples, stating that romance is her specialty. She is not above taking advantages like the rest of her Overlords, even giving Alastor intel on how to gain control of more souls via deals.
Rosie is fond of musicals and vaudeville (which were a prevalent form of entertainment in the 1910s), which became a cornerstone of how she came to lead Cannibal Town. Her leadership speaks for itself in that her territory is the most pleasant and peaceful areas of hell; plus she doesn't live in extravagance like other Overlords.
Thanks to the years they've known each other, Rosie is often in agreement with Alastor's machinations; putting on a show for Charlie to convince her that the two haven't had contact in 7 years (the less closely knit they looked, the less Charlie would suspect Alastor's motives) . During their duet, Rosie agrees with Alastor that they would be on "the winning side" in Hell if they backed Charlie; having it known they support the heir to the throne of hell would give them some superior notoriety compared to other Overlords lile the Vees.
Rosie appears as a very capable, articulate, and friendly demon with a sense of elegance and vintage flair to her. She enjoys old-fashioned things, such as old-fashioned music and fashion of the 1910s.
Rosie displays a strong sense of composure most of the time. In "Scrambled Eggs", she was shown to have been quiet during the meeting organized by Carmilla Carmine between her fellow Overlords to discuss the new schedule for the Extermination. Rosie quietly, but respectfully acknowledged her fellow Overlords as they went to the meeting room. When Velvette revealed the severed Exorcist head, Rosie was shocked at the revelation, but otherwise kept quiet as she observed Velvette argue with Zestial and Carmilla about what to do about it.
Rosie seemingly agreed with Zestial's idea to not rush into a war against Heaven based on the simple proof that it is possible for Exorcists to be killed, showing she favored caution over Velvette and the Vee's arrogance and overconfidence. Despite her patient attitude throughout most of the meeting, Rosie herself would show shock and some outrage as Velvette repeatedly disrespected her fellow Overlords, suggesting she can only tolerate so much before the offense comes at the expense of her associates.
More of Rosie is explored in "Hello Rosie!", where Rosie presents herself as gracious and charming when interacting and socializing with others. Among the residents of the Cannibal Town, Rosie is gracious and kind to the cannibals who who visit her Emporium, offering advice or her personal assistance in solving them. Later, after warmly greeting Alastor, Rosie politely greeted Charlie and wasted no time in being a gracious host, giving her a place to sit and rest and offering to give her food before agreeing to hear her problems, showing Rosie's friendliness and graciousness.
Rosie is especially kind and loving to those she considers her friends, such as with Alastor, whom after meeting up with him again after his "sabbatical", she eagerly greeted him as a friend. After meeting Charlie and taking a liking towards her, Rosie kindly offered to hear her out her dilemma and repeatedly gave Charlie suggestions on how to overcome them. During this conversation, Rosie was very empathetic and understanding to not only to Charlie, but also to Vaggie, whom she correctly deduced was ashamed of her past and didn't want to reveal it to Charlie in fear of being rejected by her. Due to her past experiences, Rosie believes that words are cheap and only action is what ultimately shows the truth, particularly when Rosie remarked that Vaggie trying to make up for her past actions by helping Charlie was telling of Vaggie's love for her.
However, despite her general kindness, Rosie is shown to have a dark side as an Overlord. Following the latest Extermination, Rosie wasn't particularly sensitive to the death of her associate, Franklin, as she is seen crossing off his name on their sign, seemingly without a care. Rosie is also highly intelligent and cunning, as shown where she had intimate knowledge on the territorial disputes in sections of Pentagram City between the various demon factions of the city. Rosie herself can also be quite commanding and intimidating towards the cannibals when she wants to be and can lead them efficiently as their leader, being fully aware of the mentality of the cannibals and offered Charlie sound advice on how to properly appeal to them to get them to help her.
Alastor himself attributes Cannibal Town's relative peacefulness and pleasantness, especially when compared to the rest of Hell, is due to Rosie's excellent leadership. She likewise collaborates with Alastor to ensure their mutual success as Overlords, as seen when she offered Alastor information regarding a slot of territory he could easily take over with the right deal.
Later, after Charlie successfully convinced the cannibals of Cannibal Town to help her, Rosie took note of Charlie's charisma and the immense power she inherited from her father, agreeing with Alastor that taking her side would ultimately be beneficial for them both in the future.
Rosie also indulges in the morbid environment of Cannibal Town, being nonchalant and even friendly about its cannibalistic tendencies along with her Emporium selling numerous cannibalistic treats. Rosie even casually offered to feed Charlie a demon leg and some pinky fingers as hospitality to her when she arrived at her Emporium.
Biography[]
Past[]
Not much is known about Rosie's past, although she was likely once a human who died and went to hell and married at some point. Later down the line, she had been summoned by Alastor, who desired to become a powerful demon in Hell, where he continue his fun of slaughter and bloodshed. She agreed, in exchange that he would assist her in helping her achieve her own goal. Shortly after, Rosie would meet Alastor in Hell, after he had been shot by a hunter who had mistaken him for a deer.
Season 1[]
Rosie first appears in a cameo in the pilot, shortly after the annual extermination, crossing off the name "Franklin" from a sign on her storefront. Presumably, Franklin was a business partner who perished during the extermination.
Her first appearance in the series proper occurs in "Scrambled Eggs" when she attends the meeting between the high-ranking Overlords to discuss how to counteract the upcoming Extermination. She then notices one of the Egg Boiz, Frank, standing by Alastors chair and waving at her and she grins widely at him in a friendly but scary manner, which scares him away. During the meeting, she expresses surprise at Velvette's presentation of the decapitated head of the Exorcist killed by Carmilla Carmine. After Carmilla cancels the meeting early after Velvette confronts her over her knowledge of the Exorcist's death, Rosie leaves with the others.
Her first speaking role is in "Hello Rosie", where she's first seen giving advice to a cannibal regarding her marital affairs. She notices Alastor and Charlie and happily greets the former while taking a liking to the latter. When asked to provide aid to the Hazbin Hotel in preparation for the upcoming Extermination, Rosie agrees once Alastor assures her that they have a plan in place and promising that the Cannibals will be able to eat the angels. She then calls a meeting in the center of Cannibal Town where she has Charlie attempt to win over the Cannibals, which fails due to Susan's heckling. Taking the princess aside, she learns about Charlie's strained relationship with Vaggie in the wake of learning her past as an Exorcist Angel. She advises Charlie on her relationship by pointing out that regardless of what Vaggie did before, her support of Charlie in her efforts to redeem Sinners as proof that her love and loyalty to the princess is sincere. Renewing Charlie's confidence in herself, Rosie watches with pride as Charlie rally's Cannibal Town to her side by singing "Ready for This". She and Alastor privately acknowledge Charlie's potential and that they will be on the "winning side" by supporting her.
She's last seen seeing and listening to Katie Killjoy's announcement of Extermination Day cancellation following the defeat of the Exorcist angels and the death of Adam, with her smiling in pride at the Hotel's victory while drinking tea.

- Rosie was originally going to be the love interest of Sir Pentious before it was changed to Cherri Bomb, as shown in old storyboards for the series.
- It's unknown how many souls Rosie has from making deals, but it must be a good amount for Carmilla to have invited her to the Overlord meeting; as Overlords with a "controlling interest" of the Sinners were in danger of losing their power if the Exterminations doubled yearly.
- As shown in Vivziepop's old drawings, the beginning of the Hazbin Hotel pilot, and in The Radio Demon comic, she seems to have some association with Hell's cannibals. In "Hello Rosie!", she is confirmed to be the leader of Cannibal Town.
- Rosie is the first known person to be aware of Alastor's asexuality while he himself isn't, as shown when he expresses confusion about Rosie calling him "an ace in the hole".
- Rosie likes "old fashioned music", that is, according to Faustisse, "old enough to be on celluloid".
- Rosie's design shares similarities with the character of Hilda from ZooPhobia. Both have several things in common, such as a very similar color palette, shapes, and their black eyes that lack irises and pupils. Furthermore, Hilda is a native of Hell.
- According to Faustisse, Rosie is a 2 or 3 on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of power when compared to the other overlords.
- The prior statement is likely invalid as of now, seeing as she was the one to grant Alastor with all of his immense powers, in turn she should likely be on the same scale as Alastor, if not stronger.
- Faustisse once stated Rosie never died, suggesting that she may have been born in Hell. However, as the other cannibal residents have been implied to be sinners, it is unknown whether her not having died is still canon.
- Vivziepop has compared Rosie and Alastor's relationship to Mary and Jack's relationship from Mary Poppins Returns.
- Faustisse likened Rosie to the character Dolly Levi from the movie Hello Dolly!.
