Rosti Nauman is a major supporting character in the action fantasy anime and manga series Wistoria: Wand and Sword. He is a student at Regarden Magical Academy and the obsessed classmate/roommate of his best friend Will Serfort whom he deeply cares about.

His voice actor in Japanese has yet to be known.

Appearance[]

Rosti is a teenage boy of somewhat androgynous appearance with short, golden blonde hair that is styled in a way that frames his face. His eyes are a striking shade of green, and he has a gentle, almost feminine expression. He typically is wearing a formal white outfit consisting of a white dress shirt with rolled-up sleeves, a dark tie, black pants, and black shoes. He also has a green gemstone pendant around his neck. During his final moments, Rosti brutally loses his right hand to a monster.

Personality[]

Rosti is one of the few people at school to actually care, respect, and acknowledge Will overall, regardless of having zero access to use magic, unlike the rest of the school. His devotion even appears that he has actual feelings for him, hinting that he may be homosexual. His loyalty for him extends to the point where he cooks food and prepares gears for Will's upcoming events. Outside of his perception of him, Rosti is generally kind and positive person. Furthermore, his interest over him even got the attention of Colette who clearly has feelings for Will, leading her to try to prevent him from building a deeper relationship with him, hinting at signs of envy, as shown in their shopping times. During the confrontation of the mage killer attack, Rosti's selflessness led him to join the battle to aid Will against the intruders, only to tragically lose his right hand and gets impaled by the monsters as Will tries to rescue him in despair.

Trivia[]

Rosti's identity and background remain a mystery, even including the fact that his voice actor's name remains hidden for the release of the anime, such as during the end where his voice actor's name is hidden as "???" as well as one on the official website of the anime, unlike the rest of the cast. However for other languages, (French and Spanish) he is voiced by women who also voice Elfie, nearly confirming this poppular theory.
- This also has fans speculating more about the popular theory suggesting that Rosti was a clone of Elfaria Serfort, the best and childhood friend of Will, thus explaining his loyalty and possible feelings for him, as well as how Elfaria was seemingly aware of certain events of Will was involved in.
- Alongside this other clues to support this theory is that Elfie has access to ice magic and can create powerful clones at a great distance.
- Rosti also told Will informations that only Elfie knows.
- As Rosti "perishes" in front of Will, some shards of ice can be seen near his hands as he tried to grab Will in his supposed last moments, implying that he is made of ice or an ice clone of Elfie.
- Rosti is in fact alive after his supposed "death" at the hand of the evil criminals who attacked their town, as he can be seen congragulating Will receiving his diplomat at the roof of the school with his body completely intact.
