We can all get a little crazy when we get scared.
~ Ruby accepting AJ's apology (determinant).

Ruby is a supporting character in The Walking Dead: The Final Season by Telltale Games. She is a teenager and medic of the children's group at Ericson's Boarding School.

She was voiced by Ali Hillis, who also voiced Karin Uzumaki.

Personality[]

Ruby is a friendly, generous and protective girl. Although she initially was stated to be aggressive and hot-tempered when first arriving, over time, she develops to be among the nicest kids in boarding school. This is displayed when Alvin Jr. apologizes for biting her and quickly heals him after he gets shot. As her file indicates, Ruby was once an angry and aggressive student towards others in boarding school, but she shows more a calm and reasonable side in the game. She also seems to be pacifistic, exhibited by her reluctance to kill Mrs. Martin, her old nurse now turned into a Walker, and her dismay at seeing Willy shoving Tenn. She also acts as a voice of reason when there are tensions between the children such as with Clementine and Mitch after Marlon's death. She is also the one who wants to cheer up and give hope to the group before the attack by organizing a party.

History[]

Ruby first appears when she goes to see Clementine, furious that AJ bit her trying to talk to her. Whatever the answer, Ruby storms off grumbling. That same evening, AJ goes to see her and apologizes for biting her. Ruby immediately accepts his apology and then goes to dinner with the other children. She may leave the table if her friends burp and make fun of her, which disgusts Ruby, causing her to angrily leave the table. At the end of the episode, she witnesses the confrontation between Marlon and Clementine who exposes the latter for his betrayal and murder. Shortly afterwards, she sees AJ shoot Marlon. Shocked and in denial, she asks for medical equipment to treat him despite his death. In the following episode, she attends his and Brody's funeral and may be shocked to hear that AJ was in the right to kill Marlon. She is among those who voted to kick Clem and AJ out of boarding school.

However, upon hearing of AJ and Clementine's return, she immediately accepts them when they notify of the Delta and when Alvin Jr. is shot in the stomach. Ruby takes the initiative to heal him and then joins Clementine and Mitch at the greenhouse to recover equipment to fight the raiders. Inside, she finds a zombified Mrs. Martin, a nurse who took care of children during the apocalypse and who taught Ruby how to heal others. After Clementine finishes off the undead, Ruby wants to bury him while Mitch wants to burn the body. Ruby will be grateful for Clem's compassion if she agrees or silently frustrated if she refuses. The night before the fight, the teenagers play truth or dare and Aasim may ask Ruby for a kiss, to which she responds by slapping him. Ruby then participates in the fight and is among the few who were not kidnapped by the Delta.

Along with Clementine and the others, she decides to save them and throws a party the day before the mission. She also takes out a box containing files that analyze the behavior of each child in the boarding school and makes Clementine guess which child corresponds to which behavior.

During the rescue, she is seen either burning the hay to distract the raiders or freeing the horses. Afterwards, she flees the scene with the other freed children who are in a cart. She is last seen at boarding school with the children and she is also Aasim's girlfriend.
