Ruijerd Superdia is a major character in the manga, light novel and anime series Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. He is possibly the last of his kind, the Superds species after he accidentally killed his own son by accident who manage to free him from Laplace’s mind control. He was the former leader of a Superds warrior group, which now is possibly an extinct race, as he is searching for his last surviving members. He saved Rudeus and Eris after founding them in the Demon Continents and later on form a party with the two called Dead End. After disbanding the group he continues travels around the world, in hope to find the last surviving member of the Superd species.
He was voiced by Daisuke Namikawa in Japanese and Christopher Wehkamp in English.
Appearance[]
Despite looking like a man in his 30s, Ruijerd is actually over 566 year old, as he is part of the Superd species. Ruijerd is a muscular tall man that shares the same emerald hairs and a red stone on his forehead like others of his kind. He has a large diagonal scar on his face from the right top of his head to his left jawline. He wears vest that the Superd pattern on it, that only covers his back. He has a red and blue bandage on his left upper arm.
At the end of Part 1 of the anime series, he shaved his hairs and now wears a bandage with the Superd tribe pattern on his forehead to hide his red gemstone on his forehead to hide his identity as a Superd for being viewed as a dangerous species. He also later on, wears a necklace around his neck given by Rudeus.
Personality[]
Ruijerd is a calm and kind-hearted man, despite having a scary behaviour. He cares about childrens and would do anything to helps them under any circumstances. He would also go berserk if anyone tries to hurt them. For example, when Rudeus’s “plan” failed, when Dead End was trying to save a group of childrens from a giant snake monster in the forest after waiting for too long to attack and the monster manage to kill one of the child, this caused Ruijerd to get furious at Rudeus for listening to him and he would murder an group of man to free some imprisoned childrens. He is also stubborn and a firm sense of justice.
Equipments[]
- Superd Spear/Trident: Like all other Superds, Ruijerd uses a spear, a spear that was originally his tail and is later on hardened to become a weapon that he has been using more than 400 years. It's also stated that the more the spear is used the harder, durable and more sharpened it can become, making the spear an incredibly powerful weapon.
The spear has the same color as the skin of Ruijerd and others Superds. The spear is actually a trident, having three prongs on it.

Ruijerd fighting against Eris
- Advanced Sōjutsu: Sōjutsu is the Japanese martial art of fighting with a spear, the fighting style of Ruijerd and possibly all other of his kind. Ruijerd is an incredibly good at fighting with a spear, having more than 400 years of experienced, as displayed many times in the anime when he was training against Eris. However he showed absolutely no chance against fighting the Dragon God, Orsted.
- Third Eye: Like all Superds, he possesses a red gemstone that is used to detect mana from living beings places or objects.
