Russel Thrush is a minor anti-hero in the animated web series RWBY. He is a member of Team CRDL along with Cardin Winchester, Dove Bronzewing, and Sky Lark.
He was voiced by Shane Newville in the English Dub, and by Atsushi Miyamoto in the Japanese Dub.
Appearance[]
Russel has light skin, blue eyes, a green mohawk on his otherwise shaved bald head. He wears a green hoodie with the sleeves ripped off with 2 pauldrons and a long sleeve shirt, gray pants, and brown boots.
Biography[]
Russel is first seen during the initiation and is later assigned onto his team. Russel is later seen bullying Velvet calling her a freak because of her rabbit ears as he and the rest of his team laugh and mock her as she walks away. Russel is later seen with the rest of his team as they make Jaune Arc collect red sap that Cardin attempts to use with the rapier wasps he had Jaune gather to get revenge on Pyrrha Nikos for humiliating him in class, however Jaune refuses and instead throws the sap at Cardin which combined with Cardin's boiling anger attracts an Ursa Major with Russel remarking "That's a big Ursa!" as Russel the other members of Team CRDL run in fear as it towers over Cardin. However Cardin is saved from the Ursa Major by Jaune. Russel is later seen sparring against Pyrrha with the rest of his team who she defeats despite their efforts. Russel participates in the Vytal Festival where he and Sky take on Penny Polendina and Ciel Soleil and are defeated by them. Russel later helps during the Battle of Beacon however it is unknown what became of him and the rest of his team after the battle.
