Russell Northrop is the tritagonist of the 2006 video game Bully.
He is doubled by Cody Melton.
Biography[]
Chapter 1[]
Russell is the second of the bullies that Jimmy encounters. Before he can do any damage, Mr. Hattrick, a math teacher at Bullworth academy, breaks up the fight. He later attacks Jimmy in the hallway, but Jimmy gives him some money so Russell can leave him alone. After he leaves, Gary suggests Jimmy to pick on he's locker as a way to "teach him a lesson". When outside of school, Jimmy encounters him for a few different points, where the player has the option of fighting or retreating. If Jimmy does, he'll call a of bunch a backup, and sometimes he can be seen to pick on smaller weaker kids and fight with the perfects or other cliques.
His major story arc comes at the end of chapter 1, during the mission Help Gary. Gary Smith betrays Jimmy Hopkins by luring him to a little arena in the boiler room known as "The Pit". Gary lies to him, saying that Jimmy Hopkins said something rude about barnyard animals and his mother, which prompts him to fight Jimmy in the Pit. The fight is similar to bullfighting. After Jimmy defeats he, he helps Russell up and tells him to stop bullying weaker kids. Russell apologizes to him and becomes Jimmy's friend.
Helping Jimmy[]
After this event Russell is now Jimmy’s friend and ally, he participates in three missions: the first is egging Tad’s house, near the beginning, he is bullying Mr. Oh for calling him dumb at the grocery clerk and Jimmy talks him out of it. They purchased eggs from him and after egging, he helps you fight off the Preps.
The second mission he appears in take place that Gary betrayed Jimmy and has most of the school against him. He helped Jimmy break into the Townies hideout by smashing a stolen motorcycle through the gates, injuring himself in the process. He runs away and hide from the cops, luring them away from Jimmy. He later returns in the final mission we’re Jimmy helps him escape from hiding in the meat factory. They, along with the Townies, return to school where a riot has broken out and the students are trashing it, Russell helps Jimmy defeat the leaders of the four cliques. Just before your showdown with Gary, two perfects take away Jimmy’s weapons.
However, they took Jimmy’s weapons, Russell arrives and chases both guards, out of anger. It is implied Russell either threatened them into giving the slingshot back, or merely assaulted them due to Jimmy getting his weapons back at the end of the game. At the end of the game, he is seen cheering for Jimmy for defeating Gary, and getting rid of Mr. Hattrick and Mr. Burton once and for all. After these events, Russell can be called on at any time to help Jimmy out.
Trivia[]
- Russell is eighteen years old.
- Russell, even after the boss battle, can still do the powerbomb at all times due to his great strength. He never uses his other moves that he uses during his boss fight as they are exclusive to the fight itself.
