Ryu Min known by his infamous alias, Black Scythe is the titular main protagonist of the light novel and Manhwa series, The 100th Regression of the Max Level Player. He is a regressor who regressed 99 lives and unlocks the Rune Time Reversal when he goes back to the beginning.
Throughout his life in Seoul, Korea in his 20s, he once lived an ordinary life with his younger brother however his life changed after experiencing a tragic loss of his parents and later takes a drastic turn when he is pulled to a deadly survival game resetting reality over death. Upon living his 100th Regression, Ryu has honed the skills, knowledge and strategies to the level of perfection in determine to survive to victory.
His unique ability to regress after his death gave him an unparalleled advantage that allowed him to foresee events, manipulate the situation and stay steps ahead of his enemies. Given by his calculative and cold exterior to others, he also harbors a deep sense of love to his brother as his way of primary motivation.

In the human world, his striking features with the modern intense look along with his short, messy hair falling in his forehead and blue eyes showing cold and serious expression.
His height is around 165cm (5'5 feet) and gives an intimidating prescence which is large due to the ominous weapons, the black scythe he weilds as he rarely shows expression giving an enigmatic and stoic facial expressions.

Personality[]
As both Ryu Min and Black Scyth in different worlds, he possess a complex and layered personality shaped by many of his regressions. In the first glance, he always appears to be calm, pragmatic and calcuating which result on rarely showing emotions that led to dictate the actions he made as it made his experiences in regressions have unnecessary stripped him sentimentally from his emotions and later became detached from social interactions. In beneath his logical and brutal nature, he has a sense of deep bond of determination to protect those he ever loved and cherish.
In glimpse of his relationship towards Min Juri revealing the softer side of his cold drastic detached nature showing that he never payed attention to her before realizing her potential as an ally and strategy of her skills as he decides to show effort on engaging conversations with her and ensures her safety throughout his journey. Her admiration towards Ryu develops a sense of admiration as she recognize the hidden strength of his stoic exterior as she finds ways to seek a connection to him which however makes it difficult to form conventional relationships due to his cold and stoic exterior.
In contrast to his younger brother, Ryu Won shows a completely different side of the protagonist's personality as he shows to be protective and supportive side while he ensures a secure life despite the dangers he faces. Having his younger brother sensing the burden of his older brother carrying, as he often shows to enlighten him in many ways. Ryu Min acknowledges the efforts of his younger brother with showing of quiet appreciation despite not explicitly showing gratitude.
he maintains a relationship with other figures such as Ma Kyung-rok, Yo Jong-ho to maintain the benefits while in their contrasts understood the capabilities of his power and strength knowing he himself is considered an enigmatic individual by others due to his infamous tactics and brutality all the while difficult to understand his motives and intentions.
Ryu does not lack morality despite showing emotionless, as he is willing to manipulate, exploit and decieved within the system and does what's necessary but also shows a sense of purpose. His goal is to finish the 20th round of the system and doesn't use cruelty, finding means to an end while others use it to dominate and seek power for their selfish desire that shaped his survival, strategy, hardship while operating a grey area as logic dictates the choice he sees but is different to those who he protect from his actions through unspoken desires.
Background[]
He is the oldest child of the family and takes care of his younger brother after he lost his parents, as he defined from hardships, struggles and will to survive as they left to fend for themselves as Ryu took multiple part time jobs while focusing on school in order to provided with his brother as his responsibility as his childhood is only faced with financial problems, personal sacrifices and struggles to make ends meet as he is forced to mature in the early age. Ryu is often the subject of bullying as his archenemy, Hwang Yongmin and his gangs often target him due to the quiet demeanor he has enduring physical assaults and public humiliation showing no retaliation in order to avoid trouble while suppressing his anger which followed his weakness in high school even teachers overlooked him which those who know him have no idea the struggles and the pain he went through the ordeal in his tragic life.
It took a drastic turn when he got sucked up to a survival game where an unforgiving reality of contests where individuals in the game fought for their lives to survive in deadly quests. Unlike those who played blindly, Ryu posses a rune of Time Reversal which mean son returning to where he started with his memories still intact crossing trial and error through 99 regressions giving him the time to hone the skills, mastering combat techniques and learning the inner works qualifications. Before his 100th regression, he failed to enter the 20th round due to the requirement of having 5 players to enter the boss room.
As new years began in his 100th regression, the death game has been played once more and completes the 1st round and tricked the angel where he killed the Diety in the secluded area in exchange for Reaper Class.
After turning to reality in the 2nd round, he meets with Min Juri a classmate and acquaintance which he himself became an unparalleled warrior with mastery of manipulation and strategist as he aimed for absolute victory instead of mere survival in which shaped his identity with Black Scythe, an enigmatic figure instilling his allies and enemies.
In his journey, he played a pivotal role in rising to power when encountering key figures as he plans to get potential allies like Min Juri, a classmate of his trusting him from hidden unparalleled strength, Ma Kyrung Rok, a potential heir of the conglomerate and a buisness partner with his influence within the game economy and Jo Hong Yo, an influential figure who understood the unparalleled abilities soft Ryu as he is wary and intrigued by his foresight. This led him to become more ruthless, intelligent and determined.

A structured-liked system where players grow with stronger in levels, runes, skills, stats. This helps the players to progress to a higher level by completing the quests, defeat enigmatic monsters especially obtaining items to enhance their abilities as it set under rules of combat, growth and class specialization.
A core attribute system that determines the the abilities and overall performance as they can be increased through level ups, buffs and special items.
The primary stats consists of: Strength, Intelligence, Agility and luck. To level them up is to increase it with level up system, Runes which gives permanent stat boosts of the individual players and enhancement like Buffs from the skills. Items such as magic Stones and equipment offer stat increase when they're equipped
Progress and leveling Hierarchy[]
Players can reach certain levels and ranks to unlock by gaining EXPs which also unlocks features and abilities by completing missions.
Features per rank[]
- Beginner: Default rank with no abilities in the start.
- Trainee: unlocks a class selection in level 20 allowing the players to choose.
- Regular: Unlocking combination feature to fuse items and skills enhancing an individuals growth in level 30
- Expert: Grant access to exclusive skills giving combat advantage in level 40
- Master: Further enhanced the players skills making them more powerful, This only unlocks when they're level 60
- Grandmaster: Gives full features when ranked to the max level titling the players to become the strongest in the system.

Special items granting players passive skills or stats boosts and can be obtained in many ways: defeating boss monsters, completing quests, hidden methods in real world.

They are defined by players combat abilities, role and skills. They are only about 30 different classes with its own strengths and weaknesses and cannot be change once selected: Reaper, Warrior, Berserker, Knight, Dark Knight, Gladiator, Paladin, Assassin, Blade Master, Sniper, Necromancer, Summoner, Tamer, Priest, Buffer, Alchemist, Shaman, Archmage, Black mage, Blacksmith

They are divided into several archetypes that is specialized by combat styles:

- Assassin: agile specialization in stealth attacks.
- Mages: powerful spells and area of effect range attacks.
- Summoners: creatures to be summoned on the users behalf.
- Tanks: absorbing damage for the team against creature attacks.
- Supporters: essentially gives buff, healing and utility to aid others
