Sōta Munakata is the deuteragonist of the 2022 anime film Suzume.

He is voiced by Hokuto Matsumura in Japanese and Josh Keaton in English who also voice Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Jak in Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, Spider-Man / Peter Parker in The Spectacular Spider-Man, Shiro in Voltron: Legendary Defender, and the young Hercules in the Disney animated film.

Sōta is a young male with shoulder-length hair and dresses in white.

Biography

Suzume crosses paths with Sōta while riding her bike which leads to him asking her about some ruins. At the specific set of ruins, she calls out to him and felt she met him before and was considering heading back before she witnessed a door. Upon opening it, she steps inside and walks back out in an act of confusion.

Upon touching a fox-like figure, she suddenly drops it in a panic and runs off. As she rushes off towards the smoke, she suspects it has something to do with the door which she realizes too soon that it was the case. Just then, she sees Sōta trying to keep it shut before it blows him away.

She checks on him to see if he is fine as they get surrounded by strings of light that extends into the sky as he tells her to flee from the place as he tries to re-shut the door while an earthquake is about to happen. Rather than run, Suzume runs to his side and tries to help him keep the door shut.

Sōta calls for gods to aid them in keeping the door shut and proceeds to lock it. Afterwards, he explains that the keystone was meant to keep the place within the door sealed.
