I am a tool. Why am I here? I want my peace. I want my home. I am a tool.
~ SCP-326 in "A Broken Tool".

SCP-326, also known as A Chinese Peasant, is a character in the SCP Foundation series. She is an elderly Chinese woman who had been forcefully turned into a super soldier by the People's Republic of China to fight during Mao Zedong's Revolution, but she resisted their control as she didn't wish to hurt people and only wanted to be at peace.

Biography[]

SCP-326 was originally a farmer who cultivated rice and wheat in a rural village in Guangxi, China before the "Great Leap Forward" campaign of Mao Zedong. During the revolution, SCP-326 was forcefully taken by agents of the campaign and subjected to agonizing experimentations by doctors to turn her into a super soldier. She attempted to fight back by ripping out her modifications, but the agents then used the orders embedded in her mind to make her stop and allow the doctors to put her modifications back to their place.

She was punished for resisting the procedure by being left in a cold room, until she was taken out and forced into a plane. She was taken to fight in the battlefield of the 1960–61 campaign at the China–Burma border where she was ordered to take out the opposing enemies. She refused to kill people, but the agents used the codes to force her to obey, and against her will she killed most of the opposing forces which were mostly comprised of young men. With the mission a success she was taken back to the base where the PRC's agents informed her she would be deployed to the island campaigns. She begged them to let her go back home as she didn't believe in the revolution, but this angered the agents who told her she owed to the revolution and should be grateful for the gift given to her.

Upon being deployed on a beach, the agents ordered her to kill the "enemies". She tried to stop herself to no avail, killing most of the Republic of China's scared soldiers. The PRC's agents ordered her to kill every single one of them, but thankfully she prevented herself from killing the remaining soldiers. The agents became furious at her and seeing no use for her they put her in a cryogenic stasis for preservation. She was content with being left alone and finally at peace, believing she wouldn't be used for any more killing.

Sometime in early 21st century, a unknown SCP breached containment and destroyed several buildings in China, including the facility where SCP-326 was contained. As a result of the destruction, her cryogenic stasis was damaged, awakening her. Fearing that the agents were coming back for her, she took a nearby screwdriver and stabbed her ears with it in order to not hear the code phrases and orders for killing. Eventually, she was found crying by a containment team from the SCP Foundation, and seeing her as an anomaly she was shortly taken into Foundation custody.

She was given the designation of SCP-326 and brought to Armed Biological Containment Area-14. However, the personnel struggled to interact with her as she was extremely scared of doctors and scientific or surgical instruments, resulting in her attacking Foundation doctors. One such unfortunate personnel was Bart who had come to her with a needle, causing her to snap his neck. Because of this, she was put in a panic room where the personnel were to wear casual clothes and give her food infused with tranquilizers to help with her stress.

Appearance[]

SCP-326 was an old Chinese woman of 65-70 years of age, though her actual age was over 120 years as she had been put in cryogenic stasis. Because of the modifications done to her which cannot be seen normally, she weighed 230 kg despite appearing as weighing 45 kg, and had excessive keloid scarring along her arms, legs, hands, feet, and spine. When she agitated these scars would rupture to expose a exoskeleton seemingly comprised of bone.

Powers and Abilities[]

After being subjected to experimentations done by the emergent People's Republic of China, SCP-326 received a exoskeleton that rested beneath her flesh and surrounding her normal skeleton. This exoskeleton appeared to be made of bone tissue, but in truth its composition is unknown, including how it connected to her muscular and nervous systems. What was known is that it was very durable and granted SCP-326 superhuman strength as she could throw two 100 kg security guards over distances greater than 4 m, and superhuman speed as she could travel over 20 m to her panic room in 2.8 seconds. Her brain appeared to have also been meddled as when she heard orders from the PRC's agents she was unable to disobey them as her body would act independently of her and follow the orders against her wish. This forced her to rupture her own eardrums in order to render herself deaf and not listen to the orders of killing anymore.

Personality[]

SCP-326 was a humble woman who wished to have nothing to do with Mao Zedong's Revolution, instead wanting to peacefully work in her farm. After she was forcefully taken by agents of the People's Republic of China and forced through horrific experimentations, she developed a deep fear of doctors with lab coats and surgical tools, immediately panicking upon seeing any individual resembling a doctor. She begged and implored the agents to let her alone and return home as she hated killing innocent and defenseless people, but this only angered them who in turn insulted and punished her. SCP-326 saw herself as nothing more than a tool for the PRC to use in its war which was meaningless to her, and when she tried to fight back she came to see herself as a broken took. As restricted herself from finishing the orders given to her, the disappointed agents decided to abandon her in cryostasis, seeing no further use in her, and despite this she became happy that she finally left alone. However, when waking back up in the modern days, she became terrified that the agents were coming back for her and not wanting to hurt anyone anymore, she used a screwdriver to painfully burst both her eardrums in order to listen to the orders. Following her containment by the Foundation, she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and iatrophobia, and to help with her stress personnel were to wear casual clothing and add tranquilizers to her food.

Trivia[]

  • SCP-326 was originally written by author Kain Pathos Crow as 'The "Extra" Skeleton' which was similar to the current one except she was much younger, before it was rewritten by Voct due to the original's poor reception.
  • SCP-326 appears to have been based on Wolverine.
