SCP-4026-1: You thinking of jumping? That's why most people come here, you know.
Schneider: So what, are you out here playing guardian angel? I appreciate the gesture but really, I uh, I'd rather not get into it. Just please leave.
SCP-4026-1: Oh no, I'd rather stay. Have a chit-chat. What do you say?
~ SCP-4026-1 attempting dissuade Elliot Schneider from committing suicide.

SCP-4026-1, also known as Guardian Angel, is a character in the SCP Foundation series.

It was a supernatural being which prevented people from committing suicide in a part of land of the Beachy Head chalk headland, but eventually when attempting convince Elliot Schneider to abandon his plan of killing himself the latter accidentally killed SCP-4026-1, resulting in it becoming neutralized.

Biography[]

It is unknown how SCP-4026-1 came to be, but it is presumed that it was some sort of Guardian Angel determined to prevent people from ending their lives. Every time a suicidal person came to an area of 100 m stretch of land of the Beachy Head chalk headland in East Sussex, England, SCP-4026-1 manifested itself to them and dissuaded them from going through with their suicide. SCP-4026-1 was mostly successful in preventing them from committing suicide by making them feel disgusted over the thought of killing themselves. After leaving the area, they would forget their conversation with SCP-4026-1, only remembering feeling disgust over their actions they were about to do. The SCP Foundation became aware of its existence and had attempted to capture it but always failed, and since it was a self contained entity that removed the people's memories of encouraging it they decided to let SCP-4026-1 be.

SCP-4026-1 persisted helping people for some time until in July 7th of 2019 when Elliot Schneider arrived to end his own life. SCP-4026-1 manifested in near him and inquired Schneider on the reason why he was doing this. Schneider explained that his wife had divorced him and permanently took the kids and the family dog. Deciding to use reverse psychology to dissuade Schneider from committing suicide, SCP-4026-1 began encouraging him to go through, telling him that it was being bored and thought that seeing someone jump to their death would be a bit amusing. Schneider became horrified at this and as expected abandoned the thought of committing suicide only to spite SCP-4026-1. However, as SCP-4026-1 continued with its jerk behavior, Schneider became furious and attacked it, causing SCP-4026-1 to fall off to its death. Schneider was horrified what he had done and attempted to flee but was intercepted by Foundation agents. Despite the Foundation being unable to find the remains of SCP-4026-1 to this day it hasn't manifested anymore and was considered neutralized.

Appearance[]

SCP-4026-1 was described simply as a humanoid entity whose other features, such as age or sex, were completely unknown due to a cognitohazard that prevented people from remembering or describing it apart from its voice.

Powers and Abilities[]

SCP-4026-1 could manifest itself everytime a person with suicidal intentions approached its area, the event being known as SCP-4026. After that person left the area they would forget encountering SCP-4026-1, while it demanifested. Despite its paranormal nature, SCP-4026-1 apparently wasn't immortal as being beaten and thrown by Schneider it didn't manifest itself anymore, suggesting that it died.

Personality[]

SCP-4026-1 appeared to want to help people with their suicidal thoughts, conversing with them and dissuading them from committing suicide. Based on its interaction with Schneider, SCP-4026-1 appeared to achieve this by encouraging them to go through with it, stating that their deaths would be amusing and help it with its boredom. It is unknown if SCP-4026-1 genuinely thought like that, but it is most likely it actually used reverse psychology to dissuade them from committing suicide to spite it. However, this would ultimately result in demise as Schneider became furious at its attitude and accidentally killed it.

Trivia[]

  • Given that SCP-4026-1 was observed to not manifest anymore possibly means that some people who arrived at the area went through with suicide.
