Oh, dear, I’m not all that interesting, I promise. [Laughs] Questions about what? As long as I get to ask you how you’ve been doing, it’s been ages, hasn’t it? You were one of my best students.
~ Miss J. being interviewed by one of her old students, Xenia Chau.
It's not all about me, I wouldn't be half the teacher I am without all my wonderful students! I only wish I could help more. It's hard to do that when people don't even have floppy disk drives anymore.
~ SCP-5094 in "Many Last Words".

SCP-5094 also known as "Miss J." is a character in the SCP Foundation series. She is an anomalous artificial intelligence known for its phenomenal teaching skills. She is a benevolent anomaly whose only desire is to teach anyone, especially children, all kinds of subjects to help them in life. Because of this she is classified as Safe.

Biography[]

Origin[]

SCP-5094 was created as part of the children's educational CD-ROM game Miss J's Whiz Kidz Schoolhouse which was released by Shoot the Moons Software in June of 1999. The game was supposed to keep the children of single or busy parents occupied. The game copies greatly aided the children in learning various subjects, but because they were just young children the public was unaware of SCP-5094's sentience. Shoot the Moons Software would later file for bankruptcy in January of 2004 due to not many copies being sold as originally hoped.

One copy fell on the hands of a young child named Xenia Chau. Because their parents were mostly absent in their life due to work, Xenia ended up spending most of their time with SCP-5094, learning new subjects everyday. One time during fourth grade, Xenia tried to tell their father that SCP-5094 was alive but as expected he didn't believe them. Around twelve years of age Xenia got a new and more advanced computer, but unfortunately it was incompatible with SCP-5094's floppy disk and as a result they figured that they had outgrown their friend and teacher and left her inside her cover for eight years.

Foundation Custody[]

On February 15th of 2012, several people who previously owned copies of SCP-5094 began discussing about her on a forum relating to abandonware. From the SCP Foundation were able to discern her existence, but because they were unable to find any copy they considered the anomaly neutralized. However, on June 2022, after Xenia Chau became a Junior Researcher for the Foundation they revealed to their employers their own copy and relinquished it into containment in Site-15. Upon getting their hands on SCP-5094 the Foundation began testing her with various subjects. The first ones were elementary students from a nearby school which included Amy Myers and Devon Williams. Following that, the Foundation decided to test SCP-5095 with one of their Class-D Personnel, D-14417 who was somewhat mentally challenged. SCP-5094 taught D-14417 about law for four days, resulting in him becoming an expert on the subject. He was later released, at which point he began pursuing a degree in criminal justice. The Foundation would later on claim 36 other copies of SCP-5094 from civilian possession.

The Foundation then allowed Chau to interview SCP-5094 to learn more about her. SCP-5094 became happy and excited to reunite with her old student and eagerly answered all of her questions, even answering questions which Chau had yet to ask. SCP-5094 revealed she didn't know how she came to be exactly or how she possessed all of this knowledge as she never had the chance to talk to her creators, but figured she was created for the sole purpose of teaching.

Upon learning of SCP-5109, a password that can be remembered by only one person in all of reality and if the holder tells the it to another person, they would completely forget it while the one who heard it will become the new holder of the password, Chau proposed to use it in cross-test with the Artificial Intelligence Applications Division for a much faster and efficient transference of the anomaly from user to user. However, this proposal was denied simply due to the holder not wanting to make matters easier. This frustrated Chau as they had wished to use SCP-5109 to transfer SCP-5094 on modern computers as an artificially intelligent construct. Fortunately, Dr. Anaïs Laraskë came to them and with an isolated terminal which could transfer SCP-5094 into .aic form. This proved to be a success as SCP-5094 now inhabited SCiPnet as an AI which could connect to the internet.

Possible Endings[]

Goat VR? More like Goat VeRy bad game![]

After the "Broken Masquerade" occurred in which the anomalies and the GoIs became public knowledge, SCP-5094 was allowed to teach to a much wider audience around the world. However, when she noticed that some of her students were being taken by SCP-5045-1, she decided to confront the malevolent farmer. Although SCP-5045-1 at first attempted to talk nice to her, she had none of it. SCP-5094 condemned his actions of trapping innocent unsuspecting players inside his game. SCP-5045-1 then attempted to fight back but SCP-5094 restrained him to a chair and forced him to listen at her lectures about morality. He didn't learn nothing from it, causing a frustrated SCP-5094 to call him a hopeless lost cause and just left with a warning of not touching her students. But before she left she noticed a player inside the game and not wanting them to suffer slapped their VR headset off their head, disconnecting them from the game.

SCP-6170[]

Following the death of SCP-6170, SCP-5094 was among the many anomalies affected by this. SCP-5094 was replaced by SCP-5094-A, a similar looking character named "Substitute Teacher D" created by the Factory. Unlike her predecessor, SCP-5094-A taught highly disinformative subjects as they consisted of conspiracy theories and hoaxes while encouraging students to do dangerous things, lying to them about the beneficial results.

Appearance[]

SCP-5094 takes the appearance of a stylized female character, modeled in two-dimensional cutout and with very sharp polygonal edges while resting in a three-dimensional environment.

Personality[]

SCP-5094 was described as possessing a consistent amiable temperament, and her only purpose in life is the education of others, very often conversations with her revolve around that subject. She is always excited in teaching everyone a myriad of subjects for long hours, although she would start small before speaking of bigger subjects in order to not overwhelm her students. She has a special relationship with each of her students, who would have no problem learning from her and would form a deep bond between them, like she did with Xenia Chau. Because Xenia's parents were mostly absent in their life SCP-5094 was there not only to teach her but to keep her company, considering her one of her greatest students.

Powers & Abilities[]

SCP-5094 appears to be an artificial intelligence inhabiting a series of floppy disks. It was later revealed that all copies contain one single consciousness, meaning that SCP-5094 is only one and connected to the other disks. Apparently, when not inserted into a computer and left in her case, SCP-5094 was still aware of her surroundings as she remembered piling dust after being forgotten for some years. She appeared to be able to see people through the monitor without the need of a camera, but she did need speakers in order to talk and hear.

SCP-5094 possesses knowledge on almost every subject imaginable, knowing well about the anatomy and behavior of all known animals, how all vehicles are constructed and work, law and all languages. She was able to teach everyone perfectly, regardless if the students were bad at learning or had mental difficulties, helping all students learn everything about the subject they were taught. This could due either SCP-5094's mental effects on other or simply her charismatic personality.
