You do not understand! I have much and more to tell you about this beast. The creature will rise from the depths of the Earth, enshrined in magma and ice, laying waste to all around it! I was delayed! The hour even now may be too late!
~ SCP-5443 urging Dr. Li to prepare for the incoming "threat".

SCP-5443 is a character in SCP Foundation series.

He is an ancient powerful master who had fought and imprisoned the monster known as Choilapatai. In the modern era, he attempted to prepare the Foundation for the monster's resurgence, only for him to be told that the organization had already defeated him quite easily.

Biography[]

Background[]

The exact origin of SCP-5443 is a complete mystery. What is known is that he was born in the ancient times and became a powerful warrior. He alongside others battled the evil monster known as Choilapatai, but he was left as one of the few survivors. SCP-5443 and his allies were eventually able to imprison Choilapatai beneath the Earth. However, he knew that the monster would inevitably free himself and be more powerful than ever, and so in the ensuing years SCP-5443 prepared himself for their second battle.

Foundation custody[]

Around June 6th of 2005, SCP-5443 reappeared on the outskirts of a city in France where he sat on the ground and began practicing with his pyromancy. The SCP Foundation was quickly altered of his presence and peacefully detained. SCP-5443 was relieved at the sight of competent fighters that could assist him in his battle.

Once under Foundation custody, SCP-5443 attempted to warn the organization of the impending threat. This prompted Site Director Li to interview SCP-5443 shortly after his containment. SCP-5443 didn't wish to waste time chatting and urged the doctor to make the interview as quick as possible. However, after explaining the nature of Choilapatai, Li informed SCP-5443 that they had already contained the monster and handed his file. A confused SCP-5443 proceeded to read the file which stated that Choilapatai had been safely contained using Scranton Reality Anchors without any casualty and now barely posed a threat to anyone.

Left in a state of shock and disappointment, SCP-5443 remained in Foundation containment. He was given weekly counseling meetings with the on-site therapist along with self-help books or literature he requested, but was denied any biblical or religious texts.

Appearance[]

SCP-5443 looked like a man in his 40s but possesses mummified skin and biologically is more than 5,000 years old.

Personality[]

SCP-5443 was a benevolent and wise being who was paranoid about the resurgence of his old enemy. Throughout the years, he practiced his abilities in order to prepare himself in the second glorious battle against Choilapatai. He sought the assistance of the SCP Foundation as he knew that it was a powerful organization capable of fighting various powerful monstrosities. However, after learning that Choilapatai had already been defeated and imprisoned, SCP-5443 fell into despair as all of his effort had gone to waste and even lost all motivation to keep practicing. Because of this, the Foundation had him take therapy to improve his mood and even allowed him to read various literature he requested.

Powers and Abilities[]

SCP-5443 is shown to be capable of producing and manipulating fire but to what extent is unknown. He also claimed to be an expert in hand-to-hand combat but fell out of practice and refused to display his combat skills. He also had a great handwriting among other talents.

Trivia[]

  • SCP-5443 is meant to be a subversion of the typical old master figures who help the heroes in defeating their ancient enemies who are about to resurface.
