“ | I'm aware that she is not the same as a normal child, but she certainly behaves like one. Perhaps she can be taught to do better, with proper guidance. She certainly seems to want to be good. She's not malicious. Just confused. And we're making progress. It's slow-going, but it's happening. | „ |
~ Res. Kanako Nishigawa-Jones about SCP-5726. |
SCP-5726, also known as Sparkling Magical Girl ♥ Darling Pink!! (きらめく魔法少女♥ダーリンピンク!!), is a character in the SCP Foundation series. She is a being physically resembling a fictional character from the in-universe manga and anime of the same name, believing herself to be Ichigo Nakamura the Darling Pink and mistaking criminals and other evildoers as being possessed by her supposed archenemy the Darkness, "cleansing" them using her scepter, not realizing she was actually killing them.
Biography[]
Background[]
It is currently unknown how SCP-5726 came to be, though according to herself she just came to this world with the memories of the fictional heroine Darling Pink from the manga and anime of the same name. Since in the source material Darling Pink's archenemy the Darkness was responsible for the bad behavior of people, SCP-5726 thought that the criminals and bullies she encountered were possessed by the Darkness. As a result she attempted to "purify" them by shooting Pink Bubble projectiles, but she ended up killing them instead. She failed to realize that as in the manga the concept of death didn't exist, and believed that her victims would return to life later on.
She first appeared in Hida-Takayama where she proceeded to attack various criminals and bullies, unknowingly killing them which attracted the attention of the Gifu Prefectural Police Department which later led to her being discovered by the SCP Foundation's MTF Iota-10. On August 9th of 2018, 5726 came across a group of bullies assaulting a defenseless teenage boy and as per usual used her powers to kill them. This event was intercepted by MTF Pi-1 and was subsequently brought to Site-19 without any objection from her.
SCP Foundation[]
Upon arriving to Site-19, 5726 was placed in a high-security humanoid containment cell where she was allowed to have various forms of entertainment, except for those featuring her character. Senior Researcher Kanako Nishigawa-Jones was assigned to the newly acquired anomaly, conducting interviews in order to learn about her. Kanako requested for D-Class to be brought to 5726 in order to accomplish her task in purifying bad guys. One such D-Class chosen to be attacked by her was D-8972, a thief who abused his wife. After being informed of his misdeeds 5726 proceeded to do her usual attack on him, throwing her bubbles at his head, splatting it and killing him. 5726 was confused why he wasn't coming back and mistook the blood as a material used by the Darkness to possess people.
As concern arose from 5726's unpredictable behavior and capabilities, Junior Researcher Benedict Kim joined Kanako in the subsequent interviews. He proposed to her to put 5726 in cryogenic stasis since she was resistant to being frozen alive, but Kanako refused to go through with this as she believed that 5726 could be taught how things actually worked. Unfortunately, in their last interview, Kanako received a paper cut, causing her to bleed for a bit. 5726 saw this and still under the impression that the blood represented the Darkness she thought Kanako was overtaken by her archenemy and immediately attacked her, blowing most of her body along with the door, while Kim became traumatized and crumbled to the ground.
MTF Rho-36 soon intervened to contain the breach, getting hold of 5726 and locking her to her bed cage, at which point she was unresponsive for twelve hours. Following this incident, the Ethics Committee and Containment Resources Committee went forth with Kim's proposal and on February 21st of 2019 the cryogenic chamber was prepared while Kim would persuade 5726 to enter inside it under the pretext of enhancing her powers. Outfitted with a translator, Kim spoke to 5726, comforting her in her last moments of consciousness and as they conversed she revealed that she realized what death was and tried to apologize for killing Kanako. However, before she could finish she was completely frozen. She was subsequently placed in a high-security chamber while her scepter was stored in another part of Site-19.
Possible Endings[]
SCP-6170[]
Following the death of SCP-6170, SCP-5726 was among the many anomalies affected by this. SCP-5726 awakened from her cryogenic stasis and destroyed her chamber, having gained new powers and escaping from the Foundation. She came to believe that the personnel were the minions of the Darkness and sought to destroy them by attacking various Foundation facilities.
Appearance[]
SCP-5726 had a superficially strong resemblance to the character of Ichigo Nakamura, a fourteen year old Magical Girl associated with pink and love.
Personality[]
At her core, SCP-5726 had the mindset of a teenage girl who genuinely wanted to help people and didn't wish to harm anyone. She was extremely friendly with everyone she encountered, even with those who made her feel unease, and was very collaborative with Foundation personnel, especially with llKanako Nishigawa-Jones who she saw as her friend. 5726 considered love to be one of the most important things to exist, but had no understanding of death or why people like bullies and criminals behaved bad and believed that they were being possessed by her supposed archenemy the "Darkness". She would attempt to "purify" them by using her projectiles, but failed to realize that she killed them, and was left severely disappointed and saddened at the fact those she attacked didn't come back to life and become her friends. After killing Kanako she finally realized the severity of her actions and felt sorry for what she'd done. She came to the belief that death was caused by the Darkness and sought to prevent anyone from dying, but it was too late as she was cryogenically frozen.
Powers and Abilities[]
Although SCP-5726 appeared as a normal human girl she actually lacked almost all of the organs required for a human to survive like blood, muscle or nervous system, instead being comprised of a substance resembling skin and flesh that healed quickly. Despite this, she still required sustenance, could feel pain and knew what organs were.
SCP-5726 could summon her trademark scepter, SCP-5726-1, at any time and could use it to generate explosive projectiles resembling pink heart-shaped bubbles, referred to as "Pretty Purity Heart Bubbles". These projectiles varied in size, made pop sounds and released sparkling effects when detonated, and could liquefy any human flesh, easily destroying anyone's body. She also only spoke the Japanese language, causing some language barrier during interviews.
