~ SCP-6666-A to SCP-6666 as she was about to reawaken. |
SCP-6666-A, also known as the Demon Hector, is a character in the SCP Foundation series. He was originally one of the four greatest knights of the powerful kingdom known as the House of Apollyon before he alongside the knights became corrupted by the Fae Princess, transforming into humanoid abominations. Unlike the other fallen knights, Hector continued to serve the House of Apollyon despite his curse and was determined to protect his kingdom at all costs from their enemies.
SCP-6666-A was most likely based on Hector of the Trojan War. He is part of the "Project PARAGON" canon and alongside SCP-6666 were originally an entry in the SCP-6000 contest which won 2nd place.
Biography[]
Past[]
Hector was born within the House of Apollyon, a powerful kingdom in the antediluvian times which expanded to most of current Europe, North Africa and northwest Asia. Eventually he became one of the kingdom's greatest warriors, and together with La Hire, Lancelot and Ogier became known as the four knights of the House of Apollyon, with Hector being the most revered of the knights and being associated with the season of Fall. When Sky King Sarrus VIII von Apollyon became bored with the current lands, he sought to conquer the territories of the Faeries in the lands that would become known as the Americas, and together with the four knights formed a massive army and embarked their ships. Upon arriving to the land of the Faeries they found that the Faeries were already in a weaken state due to their recent war against the Children of the Night, and decided to take this opportunity to completely eradicate them. After destroying most of the Faerie civilization, Hector under the orders of Sarrus bound a surviving Fae princess and took as their hostage before setting sail back to Apollyona. However, while returning through the sea, the vengeful princess set a curse on Sarrus VIII and the House of Apollyon, causing Sarrus and his ship which was carrying the princess to sink to the bottom of the ocean. Hector attempted to save him, and would have drowned alongside his king if it wasn't for the intervention of his fellow knights. Sarrus' son, Sarrus IX became the new Sky King and after having the princess imprisoned inside a tomb which was then buried deep and left to rot and be forgotten, he appointed the four knights to protect the kingdom.
However, the kingdom soon began succumbing to the princess' curse as it began suffering from various catastrophes such as flood, famine, crop failure and pestilence, although Hector and his fellow knights were able to avert many of these. Eventually, the knights also fell victims to the curse and were slowly transformed into demons which resembled the Faeries’ deities. As a result of this the knights became corrupted and left the House of Apollyon, except for Hector who was still loyal to his kingdom and his king and would do anything to protect them from their enemies. As he had become a monstrosity, Hector went to Sarrus IX and pleaded to him to be freed from the curse, but Sarrus responded that Hector didn't belong anymore to the kingdom and instead tasked him to return to the land of the Faeries and destroy their evil god responsible for the kingdom’s destruction. Although Hector cursed at this he complied and with chains in his arms set out to confront and kill the goddess Titania, the patron god of the Faeries. After the sorcerer Noah sacrificed himself to cause of the Great Flood in order to eradicate the monstrous Children of the Night, Hector arrived at the Faeries' city, only to find that it had sunk deep into the Earth as a result of a Wormwood and that it was now inhabited by the surviving Children who were being protected by Titania who was transformed into a gigantic tree after giving her heart to the Children. Seeing the current state of Titania, Hector attacked her, using his lance to form a tear on her body for him to place himself and proceeded to force Titania to grant his wish, poisoning the Children to eternal sleep so they would not pose a threat to the kingdom or humanity anymore. However, as Titania released the neurotoxic pollen that put the Children into sleep, Hector also became affected by the poison which caused him great agony, but despite this he persisted in keeping Titania at bay so she would constantly produce the pollen and prevent the Children from reawakening. During this time, Seth used his powers to hide the existence of Hector and the other knights after humanity rebuild itself following the end of the flood.
SCP Foundation Custody[]
After millions of years had passed, in 1966 the SCP Foundation's Project PARAGON was able to discover Titania and Hector, designating each of them SCP-6666 and SCP-6666-A respectively, but failed to realize the presence of the Children of the Night. As the Foundation set base on the ceiling of the land where Titania hanged upside-down, Hector ignored them and kept using his massive lance to attack the dead tree. While exploring the history behind both Hector, Titania and the Children, personnel stationed at the base began experiencing nightmares featuring Hector attacking them and their loved ones, possibly an effect caused by Titania. In 2019 the Foundation decided to use their three drones "Ulysses", "Hero", and "Astor" to spray high density polypropylene foam on Hector and the opening in Titania so their exploratory team could explore the sunken city while not being affected by the pollen. As Hector became trapped by the foam he tried to fight back, causing the drones to launch tranquilizers at him, but it didn't work as Hector was able to destroy Ulysses. Applied Task Force Hēt-1 then launched three steel cable bolts from one of their towers, pinning Hector to the tree, but he was also able to get them off him, which forced the ATF to launch a 3" kevlar guy line before launching two more steel cable bolts which successfully trapped Hector who became unable to move, allowing the remaining drones to completely seal the opening with foam. Because of this, the Children eventually began awakening and attacked the exploratory team, while Titania's body began glowing red as she also reawakened. Thankfully, at that exact moment Hector managed to free himself and resumed his attacks on Titania, telling her that she was forced to grant his wish for eternity and that she obeyed to him. He then proceeded to free his remaining arms from the bark of the tree and with all of his arms pushed both sides of the opening, causing the gash on Titania's body to become larger and release even more poison, which put the Children back to sleep, while both Titania and Hector returned to their dormant states.
Appearance[]
Hector was originally a normal human who possessed green eyes and auburn hair. After he was turned into a demon by the princess' curse he took the appearance of one of the Fairies' gods, growing approximately 23m tall, acquiring two sets of additional arms, two sets of additional eyes which were placed in two columns of three each, and losing his mouth, ears and hair. One of his rights arms was much larger than the others since it was used by Hector to hold his gigantic spear which became fused to his wrist. After he entered the body of Titania parts of his body which included his left arms and lower body became fused with the insides of Titania.
Powers and Abilities[]
Before his transformation, Hector was a normal ancient proto-human of the Homo antediluvianus sub-race. Although he was a human, Hector proved to be one the greatest and strongest warriors of the House of Apollyon as he had become one the kingdom's four knights who were known to be powerful fighters chosen by Sky King Sarrus VIII in order to protect the kingdom and conquer their neighbors.
After Hector transformed as a result of the Fairy Princess' curse, he became a gigantic immortal humanoid monsters with additional eyes and arms, one of which was larger than the rest in order for him to hold his enormous bladed spear, but lost his mouth or ears. Despite lacking his mouth and ears, Hector could still speak from place where his mouth once was, and could still hear things. With his new powers, Hector gained regenerative properties and even more strength, which allowed him to tear open a side of Titania's body and resist the neurotoxic pollen released from her body. When he began talking to Titania in his native forgotten language, Foundation personnel stationed near SCP-6666 were able to understand what he was saying despite having no knowledge of his language, possibly suggesting omniligualism even though when he spoke before the incident no one could understand him.
Personality[]
Hector was a noble, fearless and selfless knight who was determined to serve the House of Apollyon until the very end. He was so loyal to the kingdom and the Sky King Sarrus, to the point of obsession, spending his entire life to complete every wish his king had and completely ignoring everything else, including his own wives and his wellbeing. Even after being transformed into a monster and his other fellow knights abandoning the kingdom, Hector remained by his king's side and when the Sky King casted him out and ordered Hector to find a way to stop the calamities plaguing the kingdom, Hector complied and set out to kill the supposed god responsible. He confronted Titania head-on and forced her to obey him and grant his wish to imprison the dreaded Children within the city so humanity would not be harmed. As this wish led to Titania producing a powerful poison to put the Children to sleep, Hector also became affected by the poison, causing him immense pain and agony, but regardless of this he kept attacking Titania for untold millennia, sacrificing himself so he could protect his kingdom and humanity.

Trivia[]
- On djkaktus' author page, as he did with the other links to the other knights, he assigned to the SCP-6666's article the diamond playing card.
- This is because SCP-2254 originated as reimagining of the now deleted version of SCP-952 which was known as Jack of Hearts.
- djkaktus has stated that he associates SCP-6666-A with the color gold.
- When the Foundation used SCP-978 to take a photo of SCP-6666-A, the picture showed him standing triumphant on the remains of SCP-6666 while having impaled multiple SCP-1000 instances on his spear.
