Sabé is a supporting character in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. She is one of Padmé Amidala's five handmaidens during her term as Queen. She serves as her decoy due to her bearing a strong resemblance to her.
The handmaidens are the Queen's attendants. Their task is to maintain the Queens image, assisting behind the scenes in every possible way. Their duties include to protect the queen and act as her bodyguards.
The handmaidens were individually hand-picked for their intelligence, courage, fitness and resemblance to Amidala.
Sabé is Amidala's most important handmaiden. She acts as the queen's decoy when there is reason to believe the Queen is in danger.

Skills and Abilities[]
Sabé was put through the same standard training as all handmaidens on Naboo do in order to act as effective bodyguards to the Queen if necessary. As such, she was trained in martial arts, weaponry, basic military strategy, languages, etiquette, espionage, and put through rigorous physical training. She also spent time getting to know her charge and later close friend, Padme Amidala, in order to be able to perfectly mimic her mannerisms body language, as did the other handmaidens.
During the battle of Naboo, Sabé asserted herself well against the Trade Federation's battle droids, and competently led a company of Naboo guardsman through the Palace in Theed.
In her older age, Sabé had further improved her skills, becoming a highly skilled unarmed combatant and a master markswoman. She was also an excellent strategist, having devised a plan to lure and trap the Sith Lord Darth Vader on Naboo in revenge for her Queen's death, even nearly succeeding, had circumstances not gone out of control.
Sabé was also a sharp and intelligent woman, having been able to deduce that Darth Vader was in fact Anakin Skywalker, despite before having blamed the Sith Lord for his own death, as well as that of Amidala's, before shift the blame to Palpatine instead, following her deduction of Vader's true identity.
