Saiko Yonebayashi is a Ghoul investigator and the deputy squad leader of the Quinx Squad.

She is voiced by Ayane Sakura in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Sarah Wiedenheft in the English version of the anime.

Personality[]

Saiko is extremely lazy as she dislikes work and prefers having a peaceful and carefree life. She has a childish nature as she sometimes talks in third-person, and she doesn't try to lose weight but is embarrassed of it and covers it during her introduction. Another extent to her laziness, is that she often oversleeps which results in her being late for work and absent from most missions. This is understandable as she has no motivation to be an investigator as it was her mother to force her into becoming an investigator which is what led Saiko to be insecure about her abilities. Throughout the series, we can see that Saiko is in fact very talented in kagune manipulation.

Six months after the Ysukiyama family was wiped out (except for Nimurta), she became more diligent in her work and supports Urie in his duties as the deputy squad leader of the Qs squad.

Powers and abilities[]

Rinkaku Kagune: Saiko's kagune is a Rinkaku which forms as a reptilian tail. During the Rosewald investigation, her kagune would resemble as a colossal insectoid structure with additional tentacles protruding from its end, being easily several times bigger than Saiko herself. Out of all the members of the Quinx Squad, Saiko is said to have the highest explosive power and her kagune can take down massive concrete structures. Saiko's stamina will be almost completely drained as the result of a single use will cause her to collapse and pant on the floor while waiting for her body to recover.
Kagune Manipulation: Saiko can force her kagune to shape shift into anything she wants to duplicate. Several forms Saiko made include numerous arms that can smash through buildings and crush her opponents with little to no effort.
