Sakaki is one of the main protagonists of the manga and anime series Azumanga Daioh.
Appearance[]
Sakaki is a tall, athletic, and quite developed teenage girl. She has long dark hair that goes down her back past her waist. She has soft facial features, which often seem unexpressive, but she does display subtle emotions and on rare occasion, strong sense of glee with a big smile that makes her squint due to it being so wide.
Biography[]
Sakaki is bad at art (shown by small pictures of cats in her note book) and loves neko konekos. Every episode if Sakaki wants to pet Kamineko, then Kamineko bites her right hand. Despite this, Sakaki's love for cats drives her to keep trying to pet it, never dissuaded by the bites. Sakaki is likes every animals that was cute and her parents doesn't not allow cats in their house because of her mother's allergies.
In Episode 17, when the girls sing karaoke, Sakaki sings her character song, Kokoro wa Shōjo de Parachute. Which is better singing than Yomi. Later in the series, Sakaki is on a class trip to Okinawa, during which she befriends an Iriomote kitten that she meets on a side trip to Iriomote Island; she is thrilled because it is the first interaction with a cat that doesn't result in it fleeing before she can touch it or viciously biting her. Sakaki separates bitter sweet with the kitten, as she can't take her from her mother and home, but the mother and kitten offer her a fond farewell. Later, the Iriomote kitten loses its mother and proceeds to seek out Sakaki in Tokyo. As Sakaki was in danger with the neighborhood's cat leader and the cat's kitty band, the kitten saves her and later become close friends, finaly allowing to have a pet cat to love.

- Sakaki never made an appearance in Episode 3.
- She makes a cameo appaerance in the crossover in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai's Episode 11!.
