Farnese Mochizuki (née Forneus), commonly known by her nickname (and her de facto name) as Sakura, is one of the tritagonists of the In Another World with My Smartphone franchise.

Initially found by Touya Mochizuki as an amnesiac in Brunhild Dukedom, Sakura is later revealed to be from the Demon King of Xenoahs as a planned successor to be its kingdom's new ruler, as well as the daughter of Zelgadi von Xenoahs and Fiana Forneus, the stepsister of Faron and Farese von Xenoahs, as well as the half-niece of Severus Arnos.

She was involved in a conspiracy in Xenoahs and later escaped the kingdom, after Severus attempted to assassinate her, leading her to be an amnesiac in the present. After putting an end to Severus' threat, as well as with Gila, Sakura later engages to Touya and subsequently became one of his wives, as well as the Sixth Queen of Brunhild Dukedom and Yoshino Mochizuki's mother.

She is voiced by Miyu Kubota, who voiced Karin Asaka in Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Club in Japanese and Reshel Mae in English.

Appearance[]

She initially made an appearance in the series as a small child with violet eyes and pure white hair that has a pronounced curl to the left.

Later, it was revealed that she actually had somewhat reddish hair, which matched the lighter shade of the Sakura (cherry) bloom. She received the Protean Eye medallion before the series began, which transformed her appearance and turned her somewhat reddish hair into black. This was done to prevent other demonkin from being able to recognise her.

She typically wears a purple dress that is knee-length over which she wears a red and white jacket that opens at the bottom and stretches behind her in addition to the Protean Eye. Her sandals are silver as well.

She revealed to have a pair of horns on her head after regaining her memories, and with enough magical strength, she can control their length.

Personality[]

Sakura is the least emotionally expressive of Touya's wives and speaks softly. She doesn't speak much and didn't appear motivated to restore her memories while she was amnesiac. She has no connection to Xenoahs and only her mother, despite having regained some of her memories thanks to Touya's Recall spell.

Sakura may be fairly aggressive and determined, but sadly, she can also be very direct. Sakura doesn't appear to have much shame; after purchasing some undergarments in the Reverse World, she questioned whether Touya would be interested in seeing what she had purchased. She doesn't go much farther than declaring her viewpoint, hence her repeated criticisms of father Zelgadi von Xenoahs are also her form of kindness.

Belying on her primary talent is her musical talents. She is a gifted vocalist who can remember song lyrics after only one listen.

Abilities[]

Singing: Sakura seems to have a natural talent for vocalization, as shown in episode 22 of the animated series.

Trivia[]

  • Owing to the astronomical-named theming of Touya's wives, Sakura's symbol is the Sun.
  • Sakura's Frame Gear uses her singing for sound attacks. Since she doesn't know the lyrics of songs Touya taught her without a Translate spell, Sakura often picks songs inappropriate for the moment; due to beat and rhythm
    • The vague descriptions Touya gives (to avoid copyright) implies Sakura knows at least one song from Back to the Future.
  • Sakura never addresses Touya by name, only ever calling him Grand Duke. It started out as a formality, but she didn't grow out of it once she fell in love with him.
