Hero Overview

The truth is.. I've always known in my heart, there was nothing I could have done for you. But I love you..!! No matter what's happened, I still care for you more than I can bear.. If I could had taken all your pain... onto myself to comfort you, I would have.. and here we are again, and still all I can do is sit here and cry. ...I'm so pathetic..! But...Sasuke! If I still have a place in your heart, no matter how small it may be.. then please.. I'm begging you, don't slip away any further..! If we just stayed together.. forever.. Then I'm sure.. some day.. things would go back to how they used to be..
~ Sakura reconfessing her love for Sasuke

Sakura Haruno is the tritagonist in the Naruto anime/manga series and one of the main supporting characters in the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime/manga series. She is a chūnin-level kunoichi of Konohagakure, a talented medical-ninja, and a member of Team Kakashi.

She is voiced by Chie Nakamura in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Kate Higgins in the English version of the anime.

Background

Sakura child

Sakura as a little girl

Sakura was born on March 28, to parents, Kizashi Haruno and Mebuki Haruno.

During her early years in the Academy, Sakura was frequently bullied by others due to her large forehead. To try and combat this, Sakura used her bangs to hide her forehead, fuelling the other children's teasing by indicating she was sensitive about it. Ino Yamanaka, realising this, helped Sakura by giving her a ribbon that she used as a way of drawing attention to the cuter features of her forehead, which helped Sakura overcome her insecurity. The two became best friends and Sakura grew more confident, developing her own unique personality under Ino's guidance. Despite this, Sakura felt that she was living in Ino's shadow and longed to prove herself as Ino's equal. Later, when Sakura found out that Ino had a crush on Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura ended their friendship so that they could compete for Sasuke's love, thus beginning a bitter rivalry between the two.

Personality

As a little girl, Sakura was insecure and highly self-conscious about her large forehead; covering it with her bangs. It was not until she met Ino, whom defended her from bullies and became her friend, did she become more self-confident. However, while Sakura was noted for being an honor student for her scholastic intelligence in the Academy, she became narcissistic as she was more interested in her appearance and Sasuke as opposed to practicing her ninja skills. Because of this, she found Naruto's advances and attempts to gain her attention irksome, calling him childish and foolish, citing his lack of a family as being a reason he was such an annoyance to everyone in the village. Sasuke pointed out that this was because Sakura never experienced loss in her life and this couldn't understand himself ot Naruto, prompting her to look at things from Naruto's perspective in an effort to understand her teammates. Over time, Sakura became more mature as she developed a mutual friendship with her teammates. As her core, Sakura is compassionate, determined, and courageous, willing to sacrifice herself and combat those she knows to be superior to her to defend her team. She has shown that despite her being overcritical, overbearing, and blunt at times, especially with Naruto, she can be supportive of her friends. By Part II, Sakura displayed that she doesn't back down from a fight, noting that she inherited her master's contempt for losing. Sakura can also be reckless, due to her desire to catch up in strength with Naruto and Sasuke, her overprotectiveness of them, and her need to prove her worthiness as a ninja, which often leads her to impulsively attack her opponents and get rescued by her comrades.

At the start of the series, Sakura had a deep infatuation for Sasuke Uchiha, rooted in his good looks, cunning, cool attitude, and prodigious talents. For that reason, many of Sakura's early appearances are dedicated to her continuing efforts to win his affection. As the story progresses, she begins to recognise that Sasuke is a real person with imperfections, and develops a more sincere desire to be there for him and later fell in love with him. Sakura also becomes concerned that Sasuke will someday abandon her and the rest of Konoha in his quest for power. When her fears come true at the end of Part I, Sakura does all that she can to stop Sasuke from leaving, such as professing her love for him and offering to join him. Despite thanking her and sounding grateful, Sasuke knocks Sakura unconscious and leaves the village. Since then, Sakura has made her personal goal to bring Sasuke home, which becomes a recurring component of her role in Part II. Although she still worries about his well-being, Sakura is willing to attack him if it means returning him to Konoha. As time goes on and Sasuke becomes an increasingly more dangerous criminal, Sakura recognises that Sasuke must be stopped at all costs. Later on she tells Naruto that she no longer has any feelings for Sasuke since he just keeps breaking her heart. However, her team-mate Sai at the time suspected she was still in love with Sasuke, which is later proven to be true. Upon meeting Sasuke once again, Sakura becomes upset by how corrupted Sasuke has become and tries to kill him, but she ultimately cannot bring herself to do so, being brought to tears as she started remembering all they went through together as members of Team 7. She has since come to accept that Naruto is the only one who can do anything about Sasuke and decided to she would put her faith in both of them after seeing Naruto's resolve to bring Sasuke back no matter what. During the Fourth Shinobi World War, when Sasuke returned to fight alongside the Allied Shinobi Forces, Sakura, although happy he was back, was confused about his motives for assisting the Allies. This was confirmed with his intention to start a revolution through destruction and rebirth. Sakura tried to get Sasuke to return home, proclaiming her love for him once more, only to be silenced with genjutsu by Sasuke. Ultimately, after Naruto and Sasuke's final clash, the latter, having been redeemed, apologized to Sakura for all he had put her through. Despite her slight hesitation, she tearfully forgave him. After a couple of years, Sakura convinced Sasuke to let her accompany him on his traveling, during which they got married, she quickly became pregnant with his child, and she gave birth to their daughter, Sarada. While Sasuke spends several years away on a top-secret mission, Sakura remained supportive of his duties and is content with her marriage and family.

After becoming a mother, Sakura is shown to be very loving and caring to her daughter, Sarada; this is seen when Sarada had no problem telling her mother about her feelings about Boruto and her father. That doesn't mean she doesn't get angry at her daughter, as when Sarada questioned the validity of her marriage, Sakura responded by smashing the ground. Seeing her daughter was acting out of sadness rather than anger, Sakura apologized and reassured Sarada that he father would be home soon. Sakura is very protective of her family, as she became enraged when Shin attempted to kill her husband and daughter. During Sasuke's absence, Sakura adopted Itachi's habit of poking Sarada in the forehead like Itachi always did with Sasuke. Sakura also has deep pride for her daughter and didn't hesitate to loudly cheer for Sarada from the audience during the Chunin Exams, even though she embarrassed Sarada. She also demonstrates loyalty to Sasuke, which is seen when she pretended to be a helpless hostage to trick Shin into revealing information about his plans on Sasuke's behalf. However, Sakura retians some of her childish antics, such as expecting to receive a kiss from Sasuke but was left disappointed when he comically declined her.

Sakura's relationship with Naruto Uzumaki, like with Sasuke, also changes throughout the series. When first teamed up together, Sakura viewed Naruto as a talentless idiot who deliberately tried to ruin her life, the result of Naruto's efforts to win her heart interfering with her similar efforts with Sasuke. However, as the story progresses and Naruto continuously shows his worth as a ninja as well as his dedication to his team-mates, Sakura realises that her initial perceptions of him were wrong. After the Chūnin Exams and missions, Sakura realises that Naruto is getting stronger and envies him, so she decides to train harder. After Sasuke defected from Konoha, Sakura pleads to Naruto, believing him to be the only one capable of bringing Sasuke back. When Naruto promises to bring Sasuke back to Konoha, Sakura realises just how committed Naruto is to her happiness, and how he has always been there for her. However, Naruto fails and is left in the hospital after losing to Sasuke, though he vows to someday fulfil the promise he made to her. Realizing the lengths Naruto will go to for her, and inspired by his determination, Sakura spends the next three years training with Tsunade so that in the future she can join Naruto in his quest to bring Sasuke back. In Part II, Sakura learns of the various hardships Naruto faces: the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox and Akatsuki.Saddened by the impact both forces have had on his life, Sakura becomes protective of Naruto and tries to do whatever she can to help him overcome these obstacles. Sakura begins to empathise with Naruto, and develops a deep friendship with him, due to their spending a lot of time together. Later, Sai explains to her just how deep Naruto's love for her truly is, and the level of pain that trying to fulfil his promise has caused, filling Sakura with guilt. After the events of the Five Kage Summit, she confesses to Naruto that she loves him, no longer caring about Sasuke, and tries to get him to give up on his promise. However, Naruto does not believe her, and claims she is lying to herself, stating he knows her better than that. Sai seems to confirm this and tells Naruto that Sakura's confession was actually an attempt to release him from his promise, and possibly distract him while she hunts down Sasuke. Though being told that Naruto loves her, Sakura, while still caring for him as a friend and team-mate, doesn't reciprocate his feelings. Despite this, Naruto and Sakura remain as close friends for the rest of their lives and develop a bond that mirrors that of a brother and sister. Sakura went as far as to encourage Hinata to knit a scarf for Naruto as a way to confess her love to him and offered Naruto advice on his feelings for Hinata. Sakura is close to Naruto and Hinata's children, Boruto and Himawari, as both refer to her as "Aunt Sakura".

Sakura is shown to have a short temper at times, and has hit people out of anger before on more than one occasion (the victim usually being Naruto), but is usually relatively kind, cheerful, gentle, and positive. She has a very strong sense of being useful, and is often frustrated with herself for being a burden and not being helpful. One of her greatest regrets was relying solely on Naruto to bring Sasuke back, burdening him with the promise while she couldn't do anything but cry. It was with that resolve that she sought apprenticeship from Tsunade and since training with her, Sakura has improved considerably since Part I, but still frets over her usefulness plenty. She is rather sensitive and is quick to cry, usually because of things relating to Naruto and Sasuke. Sakura is shown to have a strong will, and refuses to give up on fights. She likens this to a contempt for losing, and this only becomes stronger since her training with Tsunade. She is generally clear-headed and rational when faced with a crisis, though her emotions have been known to cloud her thoughts at times. Unlike the rest of Team 7, Sakura has not suffered any heavy losses during her childhood. Therefore, Sakura takes for granted things that her team-mates desire, such as family and friends. She nevertheless tries to be understanding of her team and others, and does not hesitate to ask if she does not understand something or if it bothers her.

Inner Sakura

Within Sakura resides "Inner Sakura" (内なるサクラ, Uchi Naru Sakura), a manifestation of her inner emotions. In addition to comic relief, Inner Sakura represents Sakura's actual opinion on things when she outwardly displays something opposite. Inner Sakura's appearances are typically marked by an exclamation of "Shānnarō!" (しゃーんなろー). The phrase has no literal meaning, but is usually translated as "Hell yeah!", "Hell no!", or "Damn it!", depending on the situation. The English anime, for censorship reasons, replaced the aforementioned phrases with a forceful "Cha!". Inner Sakura is unique as it is in a way a second will within Sakura's mind. When Ino used the Mind Body Switch Technique on her, Inner Sakura was able to repel the user from her bo

dy, suggesting that Sakura has a split personality, consisting of the "Inner Sakura" and her normal personality.

Although she appears quite frequently at the start of the series, Inner Sakura all but disappears midway through Part I, her only other subsequent appearance being at the start of Part II. Sakura, likewise, now performs the emotional, violent outbursts she once relied on Inner Sakura for, much to the dismay of those who are around her at the time (typically Naruto). Sakura with long hair.Sakura has bright pink hair, green eyes, and fair skin. Sakura was often bullied due to her rather large forehead hence her nickname of "Billboard Brow". In Part I, Sakura wore a red qipao dress with white circular designs, with or without sleeves, with a zipper, tight dark green shorts, and a forehead protector which she used to accentuate her face.

In Part II, Sakura, now a chūnin, has acquired a new outfit consisting of the same basic red top as in Part I, with black gloves, black boots, black shorts, short grey apron skirt, and grey elbow protectors. Her skirt and elbow protectors are pink in the anime. Sakura is now also armed with a chūnin's tantō (which she wears above her medical pouch, but she has never been seen using it in combat). The cloth of her forehead protector has also changed to red in colour. When she's not on a mission, she wears her regular red shirt, with a light yellow shirt under it, and a navy-coloured skirt. In this outfit, she still wears her boots. She later dons the uniform of the Allied Shinobi Forces inclusive of a Konohagakure flak jacket, albeit opting to wear a skirt instead of pants and her regular boots. She later changes her skirt to pants to assist the medic unit. Another notable trait of Sakura's appearance is her hair. At the series' beginning, Sakura's hair was very long (when she was young, there was a rumour that Sasuke was attracted to girls with long hair). After Sakura began to protect the unconscious bodies of Sasuke and Naruto after their battle with Orochimaru, Kin Tsuchi grabbed Sakura's hair and taunted her for paying more attention to her appearance than practising her technique. Kin kept Sakura captive, holding her tightly by the hair and forcing her to watch Zaku Abumi attack Lee. This caused Sakura to cut her hair to release Kin's hold on her, and determinedly attacking Team Dosu with a new goal of surpassing her team-mates. Her hair was very short and messy that time. After the battle, Ino cuts Sakura's hair to make it neater. Sakura's hair grows after the exam. Sakura has kept her new, shoulder-length hairstyle for the rest of the series. As shown in a flashback, she grows her hair again during the time skip, but later cuts it. She, like Shizune, also has the tendency to pin her hair up in a ponytail when working.

Abilities

At the start of the series, Sakura's only defining characteristic was her intelligence, as seen with her consistently high test scores while in the Academy. Because of this, Sakura has a keen talent for observation and analysing, which she can use to overcome most forms of deception. Moreover, in the first phase of the Chūnin Exams, Sakura was able to answer all the questions on the paper test quickly, even though the examiner Ibiki Morino later commented that this feat could not be accomplished by a genin. However, Sakura's focus on her studies in the Academy greatly affected her physical performance. Her poor combat skills and stamina prevented her from being very helpful during the earlier battles in the series.

After two-and-a-half years of training with Tsunade however, Sakura's abilities greatly increased to the point that she could hold her own against powerful enemies such as Sasori. Her skills in other areas have also increased, such as being able to locate Kakashi during the second bell test - something Naruto could not do - as well as tricking Sai, Kiba, and Lee into fighting each other so that she put them all to sleep. She has similarly become more resilient, as she is able to survive an explosive tag at close range while surrounded by a cloud of poison and still get up afterwards.

Sakura has been noted to have a natural aptitude for genjutsu, though she has only ever been seen dispelling it. It does seem however that she has put this skill towards medical ninjutsu instead.

Chakra Control

Sakura's Strength

Sakura's Powerful Punch

Soon after the start of her first mission, Sakura discovered that she had an excellent control over her chakra, and as such she had an innate ability to use techniques to their maximum efficiency without wasting any chakra. Kakashi pointed out that her ability to gather chakra from every part of the body and then using it with great timing made her superior to her team-mates in that respect. While this particular ability was never put to great use in Part I, her chakra control became a focal point of Sakura's fighting style and medical abilities in Part II.

Medical Ninjutsu

r excellent chakra control, Sakura had turned into an excellent combat medical-nin, and had shown herself to be able to heal fatal injuries with relatively little effort, even when more experienced medics would deem it a lost cause. She also has shown extensive knowledge of poisons having been taught by her senior pupil Shizune— learning how to imbue weapons such as kunai, with poison. She also has an extensive knowledge of herbal medicines, surpassing even the knowledge of Chiyo as well as other chemicals such as powerful sleeping gases taught to her by Tsunade. Her knowledge was great enough to withdraw Sasori's advanced poison directly from Kankurō's body, and use that as a base template to create multiple antidotes swiftly afterwards. During her fight with Sasori, she was able to start healing herself even with a poisoned sword still lodged in her abdomen, a feat Sasori remarked at.

At the end of Part I when Tsunade observed Sakura successfully heal a fish with the Mystical Palm Technique, Tsunade remarked that Sakura had come so far, and she hadn't seen such talent since Shizune. Sakura can also assist with autopsies, as seen when she and Shizune performed an autopsy on a White Zetsu during the Fourth Shinobi World War, and she has knowledge of cells and DNA.

Taijutsu

Although not known for her strength in Part I, Sakura was still strong enough to knock Ino several metres backwards with only a single strike during their match in the Chūnin Exams. In the anime, during a mission to the Land of Tea, she was seen lifting and manoeuvring a very large and thick wooden log.

In Part II, Sakura's taijutsu skills have seen tremendous growth thanks to Tsunade's training. By building up and releasing her chakra with precise timing, Sakura could easily decimate any obstacle and turn it to rubble. An opponent struck by her full strength could suffer blunt force trauma resulting in broken bones, ruptured organs, or even death. Through repeated use, Sakura no longer needs to put any conscious effort into using this strength, and so can use it instantly. Her strength, coupled with her medical expertise and the beauty she gained over the time skip, had caused many to see Sakura as a younger version of Tsunade, or even someone who could even surpass Tsunade. However, while Sakura's strength derives from this technique, Tsunade has been noted to possess incredible raw strength much greater than this ability, and is enhanced even further to monstrous levels when using it. This strength was great enough to completely immobilise a White Zetsu, which are extremely durable, with just one blow.

Another key component of Sakura's taijutsu are her evasive skills. As a field medic, she cannot afford to be gravely injured or killed on the battle field, as drilled into her by Tsunade when she trained her. Sakura would attempt to read an opponent's fighting style in order to find the dominant hand/foot or anything that the enemy was using. With that, she could increase her evasive skill to impressive levels. Sakura was proficient enough in this that she could figure out Sasori's finger movements and predict his movements of his puppets. Her skill in evasion is so great that she can combat one-hundred puppets without even being scratched. Although Chiyo aided Sakura in this occasion, she notes that Sakura hardly needed any help.

Part I

Introduction Arc

Upon being assigned as a member of Team 7, Sakura spent much of her time trying to appeal to Sasuke, despite the fact that Sasuke had no interest in her and had a habit of belittling her. All the while, Naruto tried to appeal to Sakura, despite the fact that she had no interest in him and degraded him whenever given the opportunity. As such, when Kakashi administered a test on the three to see if they would be allowed to become genin, Sakura preoccupied herself with following Sasuke instead of helping Naruto. After Kakashi lectured Sakura for this, as well as Naruto and Sasuke for their respective faults, Sakura realised that if they were to become genin, they would need to work as a team, even if that meant breaking the rules. This revelation having been the goal of the test, Kakashi passed the three, Team 7 being the first group to have ever passed his test.

Land of Waves Arc

Sakura accompanied the rest of her team on their first mission to the Land of Waves, to act as bodyguards for Tazuna. While there, Kakashi administers a Tree Climbing Practice, and Sakura masters the exercise on her first try. This leaves her in charge of escorting Tazuna while Naruto and Sasuke complete the training. When they are later attacked by Zabu<a and Hakue, Sakura protects Tazuna while Kakashi, Naruto, and Sasuke battle the enemy. After hearing that Sasuke was apparently killed, Sakura violated Shinobi Rule #25 of not showing any kind of emotions by crying for Sasuke's loss even as she recited it. When Sasuke turned out to have only been in a death-trance, Sakura was relieved that he was alive. Once their mission was completed, Team 7 returned to Konoha.

Chūnin Exam Arc

When Team 7 is entered into the Chūnin Exams, Sakura is reluctant to participate because she feels she is too weak. With some reassurance from Sasuke, she agrees to enter. During the first, w

ritten portion of the exam, Sakura is one of the few examinees that is able to answer the questions without cheating. She instead spends her time lamenting that Naruto is probably too stupid to answer the questions or know that he is supposed to cheat, and contemplates forfeiting so that he doesn't need to embarrass himself. After seeing Naruto's confidence in himself, she decides against it, and they pass the first phase. Soon after the start of the second phase of the Chūnin Exams, Team 7 was attacked by Orochimaru. Although Naruto and Sasuke did their best to defeat Orochimaru, both were rendered unconscious, and Sakura was left to take care of them. When they were attacked by a group of Oto genin sent by Orochimaru to kill Sasuke, Sakura tried to defeat them with some traps she had pre-prepared, though the group easily avoided her efforts. Just as the Oto genin were about to turn their attention to Sakura, Rock Lee came to her rescue, determined to protect Sakura at all costs. Despite his efforts, Lee was defeated, and the Oto genin again turned their attention to Sakura. Kin Tsuchi immobilised Sakura by grabbing her hair, scolding her for putting more effort into her looks than her abilities as a ninja.

File:Sakura and Ino.jpg

Sakura vs Ino

Distraught that people were always fighting for her because she couldn't fight for herself, Sakura resolved to better herself as a ninja. Cutting off her hair to release herself from Kin's grasp, Sakura did what she could to fend off the Oto genin, even going so far as biting to make sure that she couldn't be easily repelled. This display spurred Ino and her team into coming to Sakura's aid, allowing her some rest. The unconscious Sasuke re-awakened after receiving Orochimaru's cursed seal, and immediately asked Sakura who injured her. Quickly overcome by his new Cursed Seal, he began a violent rampage on the Sound ninja who were present. Frightened by his new behaviour and after having realised that "this is not Sasuke", a tearful Sakura rushed to his side and embraced him, begging him to stop. Her words and embrace got through to him, and his Cursed Seal quickly receded.

Later, when Naruto heard that was defeated, and laughs at him, Sakura punches Naruto for being ungrateful. Sakura fighting Ino during her preliminary match. In the preliminary matches of the exam, Sakura was pitted against Ino. After Sakura and Ino exchanged insults, Ino followed Sakura's earlier example and cut her hair, leading Sakura to believe that Ino had lost her mind. In actuality, Ino cut her hair to help her in battle; by sending chakra into her cut hair, Ino was able to tie Sakura in place, allowing her slow-moving Mind Body Switch Technique to have no difficulties in finding its target. After taking control of Sakura's body, Ino tried to force Sakura to forfeit, but thanks to Naruto's cheering, Inner Sakura was able to force Ino from her body before she could do so. With both girls exhausted from the amount of effort they'd been putting into their fight, Ino and Sakura charged at each other to deal final blows. Striking each other simultaneously, both were knocked out, leading to a draw. As the two recovered, Ino and Sakura began to rekindle their friendship.

Invasion of Konoha Arc

Sakura faces Gaara.A month later, while watching Naruto and Sasuke's matches during the finals and marvelling at how their abilities had improved, the invasion of Konoha began. Sakura was able to repel the sleep inducing genjutsu that spread throughout the stadium. Because of this, and because Sasuke had pursued Gaara, Kakashi tasked Sakura with waking and assembling a team to go after him. Upon catching up with Sasuke, Sakura protected him from Gaara's attacks, risking her life to put herself between him and danger. Gaara used his sand to immobilise her, and as the sand slowly suffocated Sakura, Naruto fought to defeat Gaara using Sakura as inspiration to not give up, and save her. After Naruto defeated Gaara, Sakura was freed. Later, Sakura thanked Sasuke for saving her, but he explained to her that it was Naruto who had saved her, and she turned to smile at Naruto, not noticing the jealous scowl on Sasuke's face as she did so.

Search for Tsunade

When Sasuke was brought to the hospital after being defeated by Itachi, Sakura visited him every day and was present in the hospital when Tsubade arrived and healed Sasuke. When he woke up, Sakura tearfully hugged him, relieved he was okay and not noticing the sad look on Naruto's face.

Sasuke Retrieval Arc

While Sasuke recuperated, Sakura tried taking care of him and keep him company, but Sasuke ignored her and rejected her care for him out of jealousy for Naruto. When Naruto came into the room, Sasuke challenged him to a fight, which Naruto refused but then accepted. Sakura was forced to watch her two teammates fight before not being able to watch any more and attempted to intervene. However, Kakashi stopped them and separated them. When Sasuke fled, Sakura tried to speak to Naruto, who told her to stay out of his conflict with Sasuke. As Sasuke's desire for revenge and power grew stronger, Sakura came to suspect he was going to abandon Konoha and met with Naruto to discuss this with him but Naruto assured her Sasuke wouldn't do such a thing. Despite feeling a bit reassured, Sakura still considered the possibility and found him at the village's gates. She tried to get him to talk to her, even asking him why he never tells her his thoughts and if he remembers when he first called her annoying. Sasuke replies he could've chosen a peaceful life in Konoha with her and their team but decided revenge is most important. Growing more desperate

, Sakura declared that she was in love with him. She said she would do anything for him, even offering to help him in his quest for power, so long as she could be with him. Sasuke then turned to her and called her annoying. Sakura then threatened to scream and alert the village of his betrayal. Sasuke gives her a soft "thank you" before knocking her unconscious and leaving the village. When she awakens the following morning she tells Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki, who in turn reports to Tsunade about his departure, leading to the formation of the Sasuke Retrieval Team. When Naruto set out the next day to retrieve Sasuke, Sakura came out to meet him. Sakura begged for Naruto to bring Sasuke back, believing Naruto to be the only person who could get through to Sasuke. Naruto, looking at the crying Sakura, promised her that he would bring Sasuke back, making it his promise to her for a lifetime. This brought more tears as Sakura realised that Naruto knew how she felt and that he had always been there for her. After Naruto failed to bring Sasuke back and was left hospitalised in the process, he apologised to Sakura for his failure and asserted that he would definitely keep his promise. Inspired by Naruto's determination, she replied that, next time, they would retrieve Sasuke together, and that she would be there to help him from now on. Determined to never be useless again and to save Sasuke and help Naruto, Sakura then asked to become Tsunade's apprentice, a request which Tsunade happily accepted.

Pre-Shippūden Filler Arcs

The only filler arc Sakura plays a major part in is the Land of Rice Fields Arc, where she, Naruto and Jiraiya tries to save Sasuke. In the end of the arc Sakura asks Tsunade for medical training. Hence, little was seen of Sakura during the filler arcs, much of her time being preoccupied with training. When she did go out on missions with her fellow genin, Sakura served as the medical specialist, healing the wounds of others and examining bodies. Ino, jealous of Sakura's new-found healing abilities, asked to train with Sakura to be a medical ninja. To Ino's dismay, Sakura immediately proclaimed that Ino would be her junior during the course of the training.[33] [1] Sakura's appearance in Part II.After Naruto returned from his two and a half years of training abroad, Sakura was one of the first villagers to greet him, and was happy to see him, even noticing he was now taller than she is. However, this doesn't last long, as Sakura asked him if she had changed, and got prettier, to which he responds she hadn't and that she was the same old Sakura. The results of her training with Tsunade first show themselves when she punches Naruto for attempting to demonstrate a new perverted technique for Konohamaru. Kakashi soon recruited both of them into Team Kakashi and issued another bell test, this time the goal actually being to take the bells. Both are able to show off their new abilities. She shocks Kakashi and Naruto when she uses her super strength granted to her by Tsunade, but in the end are only able to take the bells by tricking Kakashi.

Part II

Kazekage Rescue Arc

After Naruto returned from his two and a half years of training, Sakura was one of the first villagers to greet him and was happy to see him, even noting he was now taller than she is and becoming impressed with his maturity. However, this doesn't last long, as Sakura asked him if she had changed, to which he responded she hadn't and she later punches Naruto for attempting to demonstrate a new perverted technique. After returning from the bell test, they learned that Akatsuki had captured Gaara. Team Kakashi was assigned to go to Sunagakure to help rescue him. Upon arriving in Sunagakure, Sakura used her new medical expertise to save Kankuro from a poison given to him by the Akatsuki member Sasori. Sakura then made a few antidotes to counteract the poison in case anyone on the team should have need of it. The antidote in hand, Team Kakashi followed Akatsuki's trail, accompanied by Chiyo, a Sunagakure adviser. During this period of time Sakura found out about Nine-Tails being sealed into Naruto. Once they arrived at the Akatsuki lair, the team split up, Chiyo and Sakura fighting Sasori while Kakashi and Naruto went after Deidara and Gaara's body. With both Sasori and Chiyo being master puppeteers, and with all of Sasori's attacks being imbued with his poison, Chiyo controlled Sakura like a puppet to improve her dexterity allowing her to get close enough to Sasori to destroy his puppet armour Hiruko.

As Sasori summons his the Third Kazekage puppet, much to Chiyo's shock, he begins employing the former Kazekage's ability which he had combined with his own poison. As the battle ensues, with Chiyo's help, she eventually deduces the puppets movements and destroys it. Revealing that he had turned himself into a puppet

Sakura vs Sasori

Sasori gained the upper hand in the fight and later summoned one hundred puppets to fight against Chiyo's White Secret Technique: The Chikamatsu Collection of Ten Puppets. After being sealed by Chiyo, Sasori moved to another puppet body and tried to kill her, only for Sakura to step in as a human shield. With him being distracted, Chiyo stabbed Sasori through the heart. As his life waned, he relished the fact that Sakura would die too, only to be proven wrong by the combination of Sakura's antidote and Chiyo's healing abilities. As a reward for defeating him, Sasori told Sakura of a spy within Orochimaru's ranks with his last breath.

When they caught up with Naruto and Kakashi, Sakura tried to revive Gaara, only to discover that he was already dead. As Chiyo surrendered the rest of her energy to resurrect Gaara, she tells Sakura not to give her life for an old woman and that someday she would surpass her master as a kunoichi. After attending Chiyo's funeral, the team returned home.

Sasuke and Sai Arc

Yamato-led Team Kakashi reveals themselves to Orochimaru and Kabuto. With the information gained from Sasori, Team Kakashi decided to use this as an opportunity to find Sasuke. Because Kakashi was still bedridden after his encounter with Deidara, Yamato led the team instead. Sai was also added to the team as Sasuke's replacement, but neither Naruto nor Sakura were willing to view him as such, and had difficulties getting along with him. In fact Sakura even punched him for insulting Sasuke. Their mission being to meet with and capture the spy, Yamato, disguised as Sasori, went on ahead. When the spy,Kabuto Yakushi, ended up being in league with Orochimaru, Yamato called in the team for back up. Naruto quickly engaged Orochimaru in combat, and Sakura was surprised by the very danger of his tailed forms. She was then knocked out after Kabuto was thrown away by Naruto and slammed into her. After regaining consciousness, she realised that Naruto had advanced to his four-tailed form. When Sakura approached him to try and bring him to his senses, he attacked and injured her, unaware of what he was doing. Kabuto attempted to heal her wound, saying that they were both enemies of Akatsuki. All he could do was close it, however. Once Yamato forced the Nine-Tails' influence to recede, Sakura tended to his wounds and lamented that all she could do is heal him after a battle. He recuperated, and they continued on to Orochimaru's hideout, where Sai separates himself from the group to look for Sasuke. Yamato confesses that Sai was ordered by Danzo to assassinate Sasuke, which leaves them shocked and feeling betrayed by their new teammate. Sakura then learns Sai, inspired by Naruto's desire to save Sasuke, has decided to help them take Sasuke back to Konoha. When they find Sai, Sakura angrily berates him for his original mission but stops in her tracks when she hears Sasuke call out to her. While she was shocked to see him for the first time in three years, she was saddened to hear Sasuke denounce any connection to her and Naruto, and tried to kill Naruto. When Sasuke defeats Naruto, Yamato, and Sai, Sakura decided she had no choice but to attack him. Sakura was able to determine how his Chidori Current worked, and charged him after charging her fist, attacking Sasuke for the first time ever. However, when Sasuke was about to use a counterattack on her, Yamato intervened and took the attack for Sakura. In the end, Sasuke fled with Orochimaru and Kabuto, and a tearful Sakura told Naruto very determinedly that tears weren't going to bring Sasuke back and they just need to do better next time. Then, they returned to Konoha.

Twelve Guardian Ninja Arc

In the anime, Team Yamato was sent to the Fire Temple to investigate the grave robbing of some of the former Twelve Ninja Guardian. While trying to apprehend the grave robbers, they were drawn into a trap, and their team was split up. Sakura was attacked by a giant spider but was saved by Sai, and together they found Naruto and rescued him from Fūka's soul absorbing power (although Sakura furiously thought Naruto was making out with the enemy). Later, during the attack on Konoha, Sakura did her part as medical ninja, healing all injured people she came across until she was told to aid Asuma at the power plant. There she discovered that the four Ninja Guardians had been resurrected in order to destroy the village, and Asuma sent her to stop one of the four. She was intercepted by Fuen, who trapped her in a unique genjutsu. However, Sakura had already analysed Fuen's attack patterns, and devised a counter-manoeuvre. She then tricked Fuen into revealing herself, allowing Sakura to strike her. Fuen then down on the ground stunned was killed by the Cherry Blossom Impact, thus, causing Fuen's defensive barrier around Konoha to disappear. She returned to Asuma, and found Naruto struggling with the Nine-Tails' chakra once again. Trying to heal Naruto, she jumps in when Sora fires a powerful beam to them. Naruto saves her by pushing her to the ground and covering her. After he overcame it, she healed his injuries.

Hidan and Kakuzu Arc

Team Yamato was sent to provide back up for Team 10 during their battle with Akatsuki. Because Shikamaru was separated from the rest of the group, Sai and Sakura were sent to assist him, though upon arrival they found that Shikamaru had already defeated his opponent. Having not taken part in the battle, Sakura returned to Konoha with the others, and later healed the damage to Naruto's arm from the use of his new technique. Because this made it difficult for him to eat, she offered to feed him. Though he was delighted by the idea, interference from both Sai and Kakashi prevented this from happening. Shortly afterwards they left to find Konohamaru, who had just revealed to have mastered the Shadow Clone Technique. He showed them his variations on the Sexy Technique, one of which excited Sakura.

Three-Tails Arc

[2] Sakura aiding in sealing the Three-Tails.In the anime, the team was once again sent to provide back up, this time for Team 8. After locating them and discovering Hinata to have been captured, Sakura watched as Naruto rescued her and helped her recover afterwards. When their efforts kept being stopped by Orochimaru's forces, more skilled ANBU members replaced them and they returned home.

Itachi Pursuit Arc

When news reached Konoha that Sasuke had killed Orochimaru, Sakura and Naruto were the first to join Kakashi's Eight Man Squad, and began the hunt. During her search, she barely missed a member of Sasuke's Hebi, Karin, and later regrouped with the others. When Kiba caught Sasuke's scent, the group followed until they encountered Tobi. Sakura initially suspected that he was using genjutsu or clone techniques, but after Hinata pointed out that his chakra remained in one location and Tobi managed to escape Shino's bugs, she realised that he was removing parts of his body from existence. She attempted to head to Sasuke's location with her team, but Tobi had already taken him away.

Tsuchigumo Kinjutsu Arc

Sakura's time to be disappointed over her failed mission was cut short when Katsuyu arrived with an important mission order on Tsunade's request. Team Kakashi and Team Kurenai, minus Kakashi who returned to the village for more information, were immediately sent to the aid of the Tsuchigumo clan to help protect its extremely destructive kinjutsu from the missing-nin. Upon arriving, the enemies had already left in search of technique, which was taken by the former clan leader's granddaughter Hotaru. Sakura heals him while the rest of the team find Hotaru. After Naruto, Yamato, and Sai return from searching for Hotaru, Sakura joins them and Utakata to prevent the extraction of the kinjutsu from Hotaru's back. She, along with Yamato and Sai, fight off Akaboshi,Benten, Chūshin, and Nangō while Naruto and Utakata fight Shiranami.

Later, after defeating the Magaki group and the Tsuchigumo clan's kinjutsu disappeared, they returned to Konoha when they completed the mission.

Invasion of Pain Arc

Once they returned to Konoha and learned of Jiraiya's death, Sakura tried to comfort both Naruto and Tsunade. When Naruto blamed Tsunade for the death of Jiraiya, Sakura scolded him. She was then shocked to hear Naruto declare that he would get his revenge. She later tried to help decipher Jiraiya's dying message to find out more about the Akatsuki leader, Pain, but was interrupted by Pain's attack on the village. After saving some villagers and killing Pain's Giant Centipede, Sakura went to the Konoha hospital, where she was quickly asked to lead the medical front defending the building and healing what injuries she could, i

mpressing Chōji through her leadership and skills. When Pain destroyed the village, Sakura was saved by Katsuyu. When she sees the village in ruins she cries out for Naruto to return to save everyone. After Naruto's return Sakura could only watch as Naruto tried to defeat the six Pains. She became worried when Naruto entered his six-tailed form, and was amazed to find out that Hinata risked her life to try and save Naruto because she loves him. She heals Hinata afterwards and watches as Pain, defeated and converted by Naruto, revives all those who had died during his attack. When Naruto came back to the village after talking to Nagato, Sakura punches Naruto calling him rash for taking on Pain by himself but then hugs and thanks him for saving them.

Konoha History Arc

They arrived at Furofuki's house and completed their mission.

Nekobaa hires Team 7 to gather the last paw on her Paw Encyclopaedia. After infiltrating the cat fortress, Sasuke and Sakura split in two teams to find Nekomata faster. Sakura then goes to a bar in order to find information about Nekomata. Nekomata and Sasuke then started to fight, just when Nekomata was about to crush Sasuke with his paw Sasuke is saved by Naruto and Sakura who managed to find Sasuke in time. Sasuke revealed that he didn't need to be saved and he activated explosive tags on the roof that fell on Nekomata. Once Nekomata fainted Team 7 printed his paw and took it back to Nekobaa, completing their mission. Sakura is seen along with Naruto and Sasuke spying on Kakashi and Hanare. When Naruto causes a branch of a tree they are leaning on to break, the three fall onto Kakashi and Hanare, causing them to accidentally kiss. Later, after cornering him, the Jōmae Village Head presumably committed suicide right in front of Team 7. After seeing Naruto in the village, she scolded him for missing the day's practice and warned him that she would tell Kakashi if he missed another one. When she was about to leave, Naruto asks her if she knew anyone named Kisuke. She later says that she remembers when she went to visit someone in the hospital, there was a patient in the very back room named Kisuke Maboroshi. While on a mission to retrieve a golden statue that was stolen by Jakō and his group of bandits, she gets taken as hostage. At the end of the mission, Naruto and Sasuke retrieve the statue, defeat the bandits, and save her. Along the way, they encounter the criminal, Sadai. Naruto uses his shadow clones to defeat the group, but has trouble defeating Sadai. After being captured, Sasuke arrives and defeats Sadai, but continues to beat him mercilessly, much to Naho's horror, but was then reassured by Naruto that Sasuke was just going through a rough time, and that he will bring him to her as soon as he returns to his former self.

Five Kage Summit Arc

Karui and Omoi confront Team Kakashi.Sakura is later seen in a tent along with Naruto, Kakashi, and Shizune, telling them about Tsunade going into a coma, and that neither she nor Shizune could do anything for her. She tried to cheer Naruto up, but her effort was interrupted by the arrival of Kiba. Kiba told them that Danzō Shimura has replaced Tsunade as Hokage and that he has ordered Sasuke to be executed as a missing-nin. Naruto and Sakura, hoping they might be able to convince Danzō to change his mind, asked Sai about him. Sai is unable to tell them anything, but their questioning attracted the attention of Omoi and Karui. The Kumogakure ninja informed them of Sasuke's crimes and demanded any information they may have on Sasuke. Seeing how upset this made Sakura, Naruto volunteered to tell them for her the information they wanted to know about Sasuke.

Sakura confessing to Naruto

aruto, along with Kakashi and Yamato, went to the Land of Iron to ask the Fourth Raikage to forgive Sasuke. While they are gone, Sai informed Sakura of the lengths Naruto has gone to make her happy. He also said that although Naruto loved her, the strain of trying to bring Sasuke home and fulfilling the promise he made to her, cause him nothing but constant pain. Shikamaru joined the conversation on behalf of the other members of the Konoha 11, telling Sakura that Sasuke's actions will only lead to war. Believing that the best course of action would be for them to personally stop Sasuke, Shikamaru asked for Team 7's consent. Sakura agreed, but insisted that she be the one to tell Naruto. Sakura, Sai, Kiba, and Lee went to the Land of Iron to talk to Naruto. After they located him, Sakura told Naruto that she loved him and encouraged him to give up on the promise he made to her. Naruto, however, does not believe her and says she is lying to herself. Angered by this, she insisted it was true and then pushed for Naruto to forget his promise to her and focus on the fact that Akatsuki is after him. Naruto, in turn, said that he was also pursuing Sasuke for his own reasons, not just because of his promise to her. Again, furious by this, Sakura left with her group. Ignoring Kiba's questions about why she hasn't told Naruto their plans, she asked him to help her find Sasuke. When they start nearing Sasuke, Sakura tried to set off a knockout gas to incapacitate Kiba, Sai, and Lee. Sai stopped her and, having told Naruto and Kakashi about their plans, instructed them to wait for Kakashi to arrive. She convinced Kiba and Lee to fight Sai with her, but used the knockout gas on them as they began to scuffle. Sakura found Sasuke about to kill Karin. She stopped him and told him that she wanted to join him, even if that means betraying Konoha. Suspicious, Sasuke told her to show her resolve by killing Karin. Pretending to agree, Sakura approached them, thinking that if she

killed him now, it will all be over. Karin interrupted her by warning her that Sasuke was about to kill her, but his attack was blocked by Kakashi. Kakashi instructed Sakura to heal Karin and to leave once she had done so. However she snuck up on Sasuke and tried once again to kill him, but she then started to remember all the times they had together and she was ultimately unable to bring herself to do it. Sasuke noticed Sakura and seized her by the throat and attempted to kill her with her own kunai before she was then rescued by Naruto. Naruto asked Sasuke why he would attack Sakura, to which he replied he was no longer part of the team and saw every one of them as part of the village he blamed for his clan's demise. Angry, Sakura said Naruto never gave up on him after everything he's done but Sasuke dismissed her words. She was also shocked to realize that Sasuke was really serious in trying to kill her. Kakashi tells him and Sakura that he will personally take care of Sasuke and wishes for them not to witness it. Kakashi states that Sakura's kunai was crafted by Sakura herself, with poison learned from Shizune

, and that it would most likely not work as Orochimaru would have made him immune to it.

After Naruto voiced his determination that he and Sasuke will die together one day in battle, and that he would shoulder Sasuke's hatred as a friend, Sakura was touched by Naruto's determination, and showed her gladness that he showed her a way for Team 7 to still have a happy ending. However, Naruto suddenly collapsed from the poison kunai that Sasuke used to nick Naruto's face when he saved Sakura from him, and Sakura panicked, and gave him an antidote on Kakashi's request. After Sakura gave Naruto the antidote, Naruto says he still feels sick. When Naruto asks who Karin is, Sakura replies that she's a partner of Sasuke, which Karin denies. When the group are ready to leave the bridge, Kakashi reminds Sakura that she left something behind to which he is refering to Kiba and the others. Team 7 and Karin are later seen with the sleeping Kiba, Akamaru, Lee and Sai and Kakashi expects Sakura to apologise to them after they awake to which she will. After returning to Konoha, Sakura is seen present with the rest of her friends, wondering as to what Naruto is hiding from them, remembering his statement about his and Sasuke's death in a possible fight. She is then seen out of breath when she meets up with Naruto at the Ramen Ichiraku, and she is happy to inform him that Tsunade is awake. Teuchi then offers her a bowl but, being in a rush to tell people the good news, she turns it down. She then tells Naruto she will see him later.

Adventures at Sea Arc

Main article: Adventures at Sea Arc Sakura is placed into a team with Ino and Chōji to pick medicinal herbs. After having wasted their time because of some shinobi from the Benisu Island, they receive the herbs after Naruto saves the Benisu Island shinobi from a monster that was protecting the Elixir Mud. Her team later goes back to Konoha. She is later invited by Tenten to a girls night out at Yakiniku Q. While there, she talks about Naruto with everyone.

Shinobi World War Arc

Sakura healing Guy before the start of the war. Sakura is placed within the Third Division and is later seen using her Mystical Palm Technique to heal Might Guy and wondering how he got to be in this condition right before the war, while a worried Lee looks on. Later on, Sakura is seen with her division as a red flare goes off and Kakashi orders them to go the Surprise Attack Division. Along with her division, they encountered Zabuza and Haku who were about to attack the Surprise Attack Division. She was shocked to see Zabuza and Haku again. After Haku and Zabuza's personalities were wiped out along with those of Pakura and Gari, Kakashi orders his squadrons to group themselves around the sensor ninja in the Manji Formation. Lee then tells Sakura that he'll protect her no matter what, to which Sakura tells him to also be careful as last time Zabuza attacked from the only weak spot of the formation: the centre. When the battle began in earnest, Sakura began healing the wounded.

As the battle came to a halt when night fell, Sakura went to the Logistical Support and Medical Division compound to heal all the wounded that were being moved to a central location. She attends to an unknown ninja's wound before Neji arrives. After she finishes she tells him that he should take the opportunity to get as much rest as possible. She is later seen outside one of the barracks after being alerted that three jōnin level medics were killed by an unknown assailant. When they surmise that a spy must've entered their numbers despite their stringent security measures, she dismisses the Transformation Technique as their method as the sensors would've detected them and assumes that one of their own must be under the enemy's control. Later as she prepares to start her rounds again, she is approached by the ninja she had healed earlier who hands her a love letter saying that he didn't know if he'll survive the war or not. She takes the letter and thanks him, but tells him that she loves someone else. After one last compliment, the Iwa shinobi leaves the tent visibly disappointed that Sakura was in love with someone else, Sakura soon afterwards becomes saddened as she starts thinking about Sasuke. Moments later, Neji then enters her tent asking her if she was ok. He then tells her that he doesn't blame her for being upset given the current situation. Sakura says that they need to be vigilant to which Neji agrees. He then asks for Shizune as he had made some headway in uncovering who the culprit was. Sakura tells him that she's attending to Tonton who had sprained her leg. Neji then says it's better than her arm to which Sakura agrees that she would still be able to form seals. He then asks her to take a look at his hand again to which she agrees, telling him to sit down. As he draws for a kunai to kill Sakura, she slams him to the ground. Surprised he inquires how she knew and retorts that piglets don't have hands. After being punched the transformation technique wears off and the White Zetsu clone resumes him original appearance. Sakura then interrogates the Zetsu about how he was able to get onto the compound undetected. Together with this information and a report Yamato had compiled on Zetsu, she pieces together the Zetsu's abilities and then leaves the clone in the hands of two shinobi to inform headquarters of this latest information. After reporting the findings to Shizune, they then perform an autopsy on the body of the clone and realises the similarity in their DNA to that of Yamato and by extension, Hashirama's. They then begin to piece together the truth behind the White Zetsu Army clones.

The next day, they are approached by a pair of ninja, one of whom appears to be gravely injured and the other desperately requesting her assistance. The Akimichi guarding the medics is adamant that they stay back, uncertain of who's who. Sakura, unable to turn them away after hearing the kunoichi beg them not to let her husband die in her arms, agrees to help. The pair then reveal themselves as imposters and attack. Before she can be attacked however, Naruto's shadow clone promptly takes them down, much to the surprise of Sakura and Shizune. After being informed by Inoichi from HQ that Naruto and Killer B were fighting the masked Madara, Sakura and the rest of Konoha 11 rush to his side, As she runs, she thinks to herself that Naruto always got left with insurmountable tasks but this time would be different as not only her but everyone would be there fighting alongside each other this time.

Fourth Shinobi World War Climax

Upon arriving at the battlefield, she immediately began to tend to the wounded Kakashi and Guy. She later stood with the remaining members of the Allied Shinobi Forces as they prepared to face Madara and Obito. Positioning herself behind Darui to lend support, Sakura was buffeted by the Ten-Tails s it emerged from the hole it had been trapped in. Sakura later watched in horror as Neji sacrificed himself to protect Naruto and Hinata. Sakura and the rest of their allies received chakra from Naruto as Obito ejecting multiple weapons at her which were protected by Kurama's chakra tail. Sakura and the others rallied around a wounded and exhausted Naruto in a defensive line and she healed his injuries. As the Ten-Tails grew impatient and proceeded to fire a larger Tailed Beast Ball, Sakura rallied the troops with a rousing speech in which she declared she would do her all to heal Naruto completely and no matter what, they should not give up fighting because if they were to die any way, it would be better not to simply give up. While Sakura healed Naruto, she was shocked as the Fourth Hokage appeared before them and asked if his son, Naruto, was okay. Questioning who the person befor ethem was, Sakura was later shocked as the ocean behind them arose up and the stranger before her simply noting that he had sent the Tailed Beast Ball out to sea. Akamaru's behavior soon alerted Sakura and the others to the fact that Minato had been reincarnated. Minato questions his son about Sakura being his girlfriend, Naruto's response prompted Sakura to lash out at him and tell him to focus on the situation. She soon looked on as the other previous Hokage arrived on the battlefield but later in total disbelief when Sasuke arrived. Questioning his reasons for coming to the battlefield, Sakura and the others were shocked to hear Sasuke announce he would become Hokage to change the village. As Sasuke and Naruto left to fight the Ten-Tails, Sakura refused to stay behind and stated she was not a weak woman, also saying she was trained by a Sannin and almost stored up enough chakra to unleash her true power, and would not stand by and watch them, which Naruto smiled and declared Team 7 had returned.

As the original Rookie Nine prepared themselves, Team 7 led the Allied Forces through small holes in the barrier to strike the Ten-Tails. Sakura remembered her place on the team and how she vowed to one day catch up with Naruto and Sasuke. She formed the Strength of a Hundred Seal and charged towards one of the Ten-Tails' clones, impressing her teammates and others. She was about to be attacked by two other clones before being saved by Naruto and Sasuke; she was happy that Sasuke saved her and ignored a dismayed Naruto, and she believed she had finally caught up with them. She also warned them she would snatch the Hokage hat from him if they continued fighting. Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto each used the Summoning Technique and she summoned Katsuyu, whom she asked to split and heal all members of the Allied Forces. Sai later asked Sakura about her opinion of Sasuke's return, and she replied she was happy he was back and she trusted him. Sai noted, however, that while her words were sincere, her smile was fake. Later on, she watched in horror as the Ten-Tails' body disappeared. She asked Hinata to use her Byakugan to find out what happened, and learned Obito had become the beast's junchuriki. Sakura then asked Hinata what the current condition of her teammates were.

Birth of the Ten-Tails' Jinchuriki

With the situation looking grim as the Allience was trapped in a barrier with a Tailed Beast Ball firing tree, Sakura and the other shinobi found themselves shrouded in the previous Version 1 mantles again. Shocked it had reappeared, Katsuyu informed her this was not the case and it had noticed when healing the shinobi that it had only diminished in size but not disappeared. She and the others found themselves on the outside of the barrier, escaping near fatal attacks thanks to Naruto and Minato. However, the Ten-Tails began transforming into its tree form and many shinobi, including Sakura, were attacked and their chakra was assimilated or became injured while escaping. As countless shinobi were killed from the Ten-Tails attack, Sakura asked Katsuyu to heal the field after noticing Shikamaru was mortally wounded but Katsuyu tells her it is unable to as its clones suffered the same fate as the shinobi. Sakura rushes to see how she can help her comrade, and as she tends to Shikamaru, Hashirama contacts everyone in the Alliance telepathically via Ino's Mind Body Transmission Technique to inform them of what his original had heard from madara during their fight and rally the troops to continue fighting. While Hashirama's words failed to inspire anyone, Naruto's senjutsu enhanced Tailed Beast Mode causes his feelings and personal memories to be transferred to everyone, leaving Sakura astounded as these feelings were conveyed to her.

She is later amazed when the Version 1 mantle begins to surround Shikamaru once more, thinking Naruto was overextending himself, though Ino tells her this was being done involuntarily. Releived as Shikamaru recovered, she was surprised when Tsunade arrived and praised Sakura for her hard work. Master and student later stood side by side to release their Strength of a Hundred Seals in order to summon a larger portion of Katsuyu. As the slugs began to deconstruct to form a recovery area of sorts, they remotely heal the injured using Katsuyu as a medium. While helping Tsunade, Sakura wated as her comrades from the Konoha 11 and Sai dealt a devastating blow on Obito's defences and his weapon and silently spurred them on. Though Obito was defeated, they were soon faced with a revived Madrara and Tobi who appeared and began assaulting the Alliance with its massive wooden statue. Gaara appeared with Naruto who was close to death after Madara extracted the Nine-Tails from inside him. With the three other medical experts out of chakra, Sakura went with Gaara to take Naruto out of the battlefield while struggling to keep him alive, begging for him to stay alive for his dream of becoming Hokage. As Naruto's heartbeat grew weaker, Gaara informed her that the Yang Kurama was extracted him him but before it was sealed away, the beast told Gaara to carry Naruto to Minato who had the Yin half sealed inside him. When Naruto's heartbeat stopped, Sakura made an incision in Naruto's chest using what little chakra she had left and began manually pumping his heart and performing CPR on him, all the while remembering the times they had together and she would not allow him to die so easily. Finally, they found Minato and relayed the message to him from Yang-Kurama. Minato quickly began to transfer Yin-Kurama into his son, only for Black Zetsu to intercept him and absorb Yin-Kurama before retreating. Suddenly, Madara arrived - now the Ten-Tails' jinchuriki - to reclaim his left eye from Obito.

As Black Zetsu attempted to return to Madara with the left Rinnegan and Yin-Kurama, Obito managed to overpower him and stopped him. Redeemed, Obito chose to fight with the Alliance and stop Madara. After Kakashi teleports Sakura and Naruto Kamui's dimension, a terrified Sakura tried to regain her composure while contemplating Madara's power. When Obito arrived and announced he wished to save naruto, Sakura was skeptical and Obito admitted he walked down the wrong path for a long time but wished to correct that mistake. Chhosing to trust him, Sakura let Obito transfer Yin-Kurama into Naruto, who later regained consciousness. While Naruto went to join Sasuke in fighting Madara, Sakura was left alone with Obito, who felt the Black Zetsu try to take over his body. Sakura told him that while he is her enemy and he killed many of her comrades, she is thankful he saved Naruto. Obito requests her not to consider him an ally but begs her to destroy his Rinnegan. Sakura agrees but hesitates before Madara arrives and Obito teleports her out of the dimension, where she meets with Kakashi (who's Sharingan was stolen by Madara) and Sasuke. Sakura gives medical aid to Kakashi's emoty eye socket but was shocked when Naruto restored Kakashi's original eye and intrigued how he could pull it off. As Team 7 discussed the situation, Kakashi noted that Sakura still loves Sasuke and, despite him trying to kill her once, her love is stronger. Prompted by Kakashi's questions on Sasuke's current dream, Sakura wanted to know what Sasuke meant by becoming Hokage but the conversation was cut short by Madara's arrival. The trio then heeded Kakashi's words to use teamwork like they were taught for the first mission. Madara emerged with both Rinnegan and Obito no compltetly under Black Zetsu's control. Although scared of Madara's new powers, Sakura activated her Ninja Art Creation Rebirth - Strength of a Hundred Technique and charged at Madara while shouting to Naruto and Sasuke to take advantage of the diversion. However, she is stabbed and one of his limbo clones prevent her from landing a blow on Madara. Naruto and Sasuke come to her aid, with Sasuke attacking Madara and Naruto retrieving her. Sakura was saddened by Sasuke's seemingly disregard for her but she was shocked to see her possessed a Rinnegan. As Madara casted the Infinite Tsukuyomi, Sakura, Naruto, and Kakashi were protected by Sasuke as he shielded them with Susanoo. Sakura asked what was happening and Sasuke replied she didn't need to know because there was nothing she could do. Despite Naruto and Kakashi's protest against his words, Kakashi ultimately agreed that, with the situation as it was, Sasuke should take control of the team. As the light from the Infinite Tsukuyomi faded, Sasuke deactivated Susanoo and Madara confronted them before being betrayed by the Black Zetsu, who impaled Madara through the chest, shocking everyone. When Black Zetsu decried Madara and declared that his will was that of Kaguya Otsutsuki, Sakura and Kakashi were at a loss as to who Kaguya was.

Kaguya Otsutsuki Strikes

When Sasuke and Naruto were captured by swirling masses of hair, Sakura moved to aid them. Kakashi stopped her and stated that acting rashly would mean their deaths. Sakura was later petrified as Kaguya closed the gap between them in an instant and altered the terrain below them and sent them hurling into a river of lava. Sakura was saved when Kakashi used a scroll attached to a kunai to save themselves, and she was deeply troubled once more by Sasuke's disregard for her, though she admitted he was right that only he and Naruto stood a chance at defeating Kaguya. When the scroll was set on fire, she and Kakashi were saved by Naruto who sent a shadow clone to look after them and retrieve Obito as they confronted Kaguya once more. Later, she was shocked to see that Naruto's Sexy: Reverse Harem Technique worked against Kaguya. Despite Naruto's success in landing a punch, Kaguya quickly rebounded and separated Sasuke from the group in another dimension. After Obito was resuscitated by Naruto's clone, the team explained the situation to him and Obito conluded he could possibly save Sasuke by synchronizing his kamui with the portal. As Obito noted he didn't have enough chakra to make the journey both ways, Sakura offered to use the chakra of her Strength of a Hundred Seal. Sakura activated her seal and wrapped it around Obito in order to transfer her chakra to him and they began their painstaking effort to breach each one of Kaguya's dimensions to find Sasuke. One dimension contained a sea of acid which started pouring into them when opened, causing Sakura to get burned on the right arm and she discarded her flak jacket in the process. They finally open a desert dimension where Sasuke was and shouted out for him, but the portal started to close he rushed towards them. Thinking they were too late, Sakura began to collapse from exhaustion before she was caught by Sasuke, who explained he used Amenotejikara to switch places with Sakura's jacket and thanked them for helping him.

After Obito teleported Sakura and Sasuke back to the normal dimension, Kaguya, realizing the threat of Naruto and Sasuke being back together against her, shifted dimensions again to one of intense gravity. Her attempt to kill them was thwarted by Obito, who sacrificed himself to save them and Kakashi. Before dying, Obito passed on his chakra and Sharingan powers to Kakashi, who manifested the Sharingan in both eyes and activated Susanoo to protect Sakura from Kaguya's attacks. Regaining control of herself, Kaguya then shaped herself into a tailed-beast mass. Kakashi devised a plan with his students and told them to be ready for their last mission as Team 7. Quickly enacting this plan, Team 7 was able to coordinate their efforts and penetrate Kaguya's defenses When Kaguya attempted to escape Naruto and Sasuke by flying upwards, Sakura dropped into action and decalred that, as women, they weren't supposed to underestimate each other. She proceeded to send Kaguya plummeting back towards her teammates with a single punch, snapping off one of Kaguya's horns in the process. She then watched as her teammates sealed Kaguya and they were left wondering how to escape from the dimension they were in. Hagoromo was able to use his abilities, along with help from the previous Hokage, to summon them back to the real world. As they discussed their plans for the future, Sasuke announced his intention to kill the current Kage and seize control of the tailed beasts. After Sasuke swiftly accomplished the latter with his Rinnegan, he said he wanted to change the world as how he felt it should have been, doing so with destruction and rebirth. As Sasuke turned his attention to Naruto - the only person able to stop him - Naruto firmly stated he would end the feud between the Sage's sons. Angry and heartbroken of Sasuke's words, Sakura cried out to him that she still loves him and feel pathetic for not being able to do anything for him, and she wants to now if things back return to how they were before if he still had a spot for her in his heart. After telling her that she was still annoying, Sasuke casted a genjutsu of him impaling Sakura through the chest, causing her to lose consciousness. Kakashi and Naruto scolded Sasuke for this but he said she would have followed them. As Naruto reaffirmed his promise to Sakura, Kakashi criticized Sasuke for his actions by telling the latter that Sakura is not trying to win his love and her love for him is only making her suffer to the point where her heart is breaking. Sasuke dismissed Sakura's desire for romance by saying there was no reason for them to love each other, and her feelings are from a failed past. As Sasuke and Naruto had their final clash in the Valley of the End, Sakura woke up and became worried when she learned they were facing each other for the last time. She arrived at the Valley of the End some time later and found them severally injured, and was sad to see they each lost an arm. As she started healing them, Sasuke tried to speak to her but she told him to be quiet because she needed to concentrate, Sasuke then sincerely apologized to Sakura for everything he had done, which Sakura reacted with a bit hesitation but tearfully accepted as Kakashi watched on with joy at the sight of Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto smiling and laughing with one another.

Sasuke's Departure

After the war ended, Sakura was promoted to a jonin. Several months later, Sakura and Kakashi, now the Sixth Hokage, were standing at the village gate with Sasuke, who was about to leave on a journey to seek redemption. She asked him why he was leaving before his prosthetic arm is finished, which he replied he needed to see the world with clearer eyes. Blushing, she asked if she could go with him, but Sasuke declined and said his sins had nothing to do with her, which left her disappointed. Then, Sakura was surprised and touched when Sasuke affectionately poked her on the forehead and promised he'd be back, ending it with a "thank you" as she blushed from the realization that he was starting to reciprocate her feelings.

The Last: Naruto the Movie

In a flashback from their Academy days, Sakura and her classmates were asked to write the name of the person they wanted to be with if the world ever came to an end. Naruto, who dismissed the assignment as stupid, told Sakura he would protect her but she rejected him while admiring a disinterested Sasuke. As Sakura wrote Sasuke's name down, she freaked out as Iruka scolded Naruto for not doing his assignment and she hid her paper from Sasuke. Two years after the war, Sakura witnessed Hinata with a bag of knitting equipment and, realizing she was planning to make something for Naruto, encouraged Hinata to give the scarf she knitted to Naruto. They had lunch together and discussed how Naruto has become popular since the war but he doesn't understand what love is in her opinion. After fan girls of Naruto's show up while they and Naruto were having dinner, interrupting Hinata trying to give him the scarf, Sakura told him to walk her home since its dark but Naruto was oblivious and said she was already strong to go on her own. Hinata walks away depressed and Sakura called Naruto an idiot before going off to walk with Hinata, and told her that she needs to be more confidant. When Hinata asks why Sakura is helping her so much, Sakura replies that they need to look out for each other, as she thinks about Sasuke.

Sakura is placed on a team consisting of herself, Naruto, Hinata, Shikamaru, and Sai to retrieve Hanabi Hyuga from Toneri Otsutsuki. As they fall under a genjutsu, Sakura was the only one able to see through it and released the others. Emerging from underground, she notices Naruto and Hinata have not followed them but before they can approach the matter, they are attacked by the moon's Gatekeeper. They manage to defeat it with Sakura striking its upper carapace, crushing it along with its inner organs. After Hinata left with Toneri, Sakura exhausted herself for three days trying to restore Narutp's chakra that was lost by Toneri. After waking up, Naruto fell into a deep depression over Hinata leaving him, and Sakura talks to him about his feelings for Hinata. She goes to explain she believed his past romantic feelings for her were part of an extension of his rivalry with Sasuke, knowing Sakura loved Sasuke and Naruto didn't want to lose to him. Sakura assures that Hinata truly loves him and the feelings of a girl who truly falls in love will never change. While they launch an attack on Toneri's palace, Sakura and Sai storm in search of Hanabi, while fending off a brigade of Toneri's puppets. Once they find Hanabi, Sakura discovers the tattered remains of Hinata's scarf, which she gives back to Hinata later on when they regroup. Even with the scarf ruined, Naruto still wanted to have it and Hinata gave it to him, and he declares he will treasure it, as Sakura watches them with a smile. The group is then attacked by Toneri who activated Tenseigan. After Toneri admits defeat, Sakura and the group travel back to Earth and then watched Naruto and Hinata share their first kiss in front of the moon. Several months later, Sakura attends their wedding and expresses happiness for her good friend, all the while thinking what Sasuke is doing at that very moment.

Epilogue

A couple of years after the war, Sakura followed Sasuke on his journey and they eventually got married. She quickly became pregnant with his child but refused to leave his side. As a result, when Sakura went into labour, Sasuke brought her to one of Orochimaru's hideouts and had Karin help with the delivery. Sakura gave birth to a daughter, whom she and Sasuke named Sarada. Afterwards, they returned to Konoha and were able to live as a normal family for a couple of years. At some point, Sakura attended a Five Kage Summit with her husband and learned he uncovered evidence of a new White Zetsu army and a potential threat greater than Kaguya. Ultimately, it was agreed between Sasuke, Naruto, and the other Kage to keep this information a secret from the public and to allow Sasuke continue his research. Due to Sasuke leaving for his mission, Sakura raised their daughter on her own. Over the years, Sarada would ask about her father and Sakura would reply by telling her Sasuke was away because they are important to him and Sarada will understand it some day.

A few years later, on the day of the Five Kage Summit meeting in Konoha, Sarada came home to find her mother cleaning their home. As Sarada complained how stupid boys were, Sakura asked her daughter if she was talking about Boruto. Sarada noted that the two of them had something in common: their relationship with their fathers.

Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring

About 15 years after the war, Sakura has devoted herself to raising her daughter, Sarada, while Sasuke is away on his important mission. While doing house work, Sarada started asking questions about her father, and when Sakura wasn't able to give straight answers, Sarada began to question if Sakura was even really married to Sasuke. Angered by this, Sakura struck the ground before realizing her daughter was acting out in sadness rather than anger, and apologized for raising her voice at her. Sakura assured Sarada that Sasuke will come home soon and said their feelings are connected to him. The after effects of Sakura's punch caused their house to crumble, much to Sakura's horror and she fainted. Sarada then took her mother to Shizune before going back home to collect some valuables. Sarada then discovered that the photo of her parents together was a fake and instead found a photo of her father with Team Taka, including Karin. This led her to question her parentage and follow Naruto, whom she learned was secretly planning to meet with her father.

Later on, Sakura woke up and Shizune explained the situation regarding Sarada's questions about her family and her sudden departure. Sakura chuckled at her daughter's recklessness and rushed out to find her. Discovering the threat her family had come under, Sakura angrily plummeted Shin intot he ground while berating him for trying to kill her husband and daughter. She then apologized to Sarada for not explaining their family situation but Sasuke said it was really his fault and they look guilt-ridden at each other. As Shin retreated, he teleported his son and Sakura to his hideout, where Shin began doing a transplant surgery on himself with his son's organs. She refused because it would kill his son, to which he responded by saying the blame was hers. Angry, Sakura defended herself by saying he tried to kill her husband, daughter, and good friend. She was then disgusted when Shin insisted on pushing through the surgery without any regard for his son's well-being. Once shin completed the surgery on his own and made his goal known of ridding the world of naïve peace lovers, like Sakura, she prepared to attack him and revealed she pretended to be a helpless hostage so she can gather information on him for Sasuke. However, Shin quickly overwhelmed Sakura when he manipulated countless scalpels into a makeshift arm and projectiles. Sasuke arrived and crushed Shin into submission with Susanoo before grabbing Sakura. While exhausted and lightly wounded, Sakura was happy to see her husband after so long and thanked him as he removed the scalpels from her arm. As Sasuke made sure Sakura was okay, Sarada witnessed how much her parents love each other and smiled. Realizing he needed to retreat, Shin called for his clones to distract Sasuke, Sakura, and the others before he is stabbed by the clones who said he is no longer needed. Sakura wondered why such a thing hadn't occurred before. When the clones start to battle Sasuke and Naruto, Sarada quickly jumped in the fight and defeated numerous Shin clones by crushing the ground with the same immense strength of Sakura. This shocks Sakura and makes Sasuke proud of their daughter.

With the Shin clones defeated, Sakura rushed to check on Sarada and hugged her in relief she was alright. She then told Sarada that she heard the girl's doubts from Shizune and insisted she is Sarada's real mother. Sarada greed because she said she learned that what is most important is that their feelings are connected to each other. Sakura smiled when Sarada asked Sasuke if he believed this and he confirmed it because Sarada is the proof of their bond. Upon returning to Konoha, the family had dinner and later posed for their first family portrait. When Sasuke prepared to leave to continue with his mission, Sakura happily watched Sasuke hug Sarada and affectionately poke her on the forehead while promising to return home soon. When Sakura leaned in to receive a kiss form Sasuke, he was amused and instead turned around and bade them farewell, leaving Sakura comically disappointed as she waved goodbye to her husband with their daughter.

Boruto: Naruto the Movie

Several months later, while hanging out with Ino and Temari, Sakura noticed Naruto sending shadow clones to tend to the villagers as he was too occupied with his duties as Hokage. On the first day of the Chunin Exams, Sakura saw her daughter off at the front door. Sarada mentioned that Sakura is in higher spirits and believes it is due to Sasuke coming back home after so long, which causes Sakura to blush and get embarrassed. Amused, Sarada said she can see those kinds of things through Sakura before going off to meet with her team. Sakura then insists it is Sarada who is the happiest that Sasuke is home.

During the third round of the Chunin Exams, Sakura sat in the audience with Ino and Temari, and proudly cheered for Sarada after she easily defeated her opponent but she only embarrassed Sarada. When Momoshiki and Kinshiki Otsutsuki attacked the arena, Sakura defended the evacuees by punching out falling debris and later healed Hinata after she was injured from trying to save Naruto from being taken by Momoshiki. When Sasuke, Boruto, and the other Kage prepared to travel to the other dimension to rescue Naruto, Sakura, accompanied by Sarada and Mitsuki, helped Hinata to meet with them so she could stop her son from going on such a dangerous mission. Seeing Boruto wearing Naruto's old jacket and Sasuke's headband, Sakura smiled when she was reminded of Naruto when he was younger.

At the end, Sakura is seen sitting on a rooftop with Sasuke, as they both smile and watch their daughter, along with Boruto and Mitsuki.

Relationships

Sasuke Uchiha

Sakura's relationship with Sasuke plays a critical role in the series and is, by far, the most significant relationship in her life. sakura has had a crush on Sasuke since she first saw him during their days in the Academy when they were small children, rooted from his good looks and his calm, collected attitude. Despite knowing he was popular among all the girls at the Academy, including her best friend Ino, Sakura vowed to win him over and grew her hair long after hearing a rumor that Sasuke liked girls with long hair. After being placed on the same team, Sakura was overjoyed and spent more time trying to win his affection rather than focusing on her ninja training. However, Sasuke had a low opinion about her due to her immaturity and inconsideration for others, especially for Naruto. After he called her annoying for criticizing Naruto for being an orphan, Sakura decided Sasuke was right and she made attempts to be nicer to Naruto. During their time as Team 7, Sakura continued trying to impress Sasuke and blush at anything he said or did that she found attractive of him. However, her infatuations began to change when she believed Sasuke had been killed by Haku and cried over his body before reacting with relief that he was okay. As she started to realize that Sasuke was actually a person with imperfections and was suffering physically and mentally from his past and desire for revenge, Sakura became very caring and worried for his well-being, and made it a priority to help him as much as possible. This allowed Sakura's feelings for Sasuke to grow stronger and she genuinely fell in love with him, to the point where she is able to know his true self; she instantly knew he wasn't himself as he was under the Cursed Seal of Heaven and convinced him to stop his rampage on the ninjas who hurt her earlier by hugging Sasuke and pleading for him to stop. It seemed that Sasuke started to develop romantic feelings for Sakura as well as he noticed how much she really cared about him and he was willing to risk his life to protect her because he didn't want to lose someone dear to him again, and even exhibited jealousy when Sakura learned Naruto saved her from Gaara. Ultimately, thinking his bonds with his friends made him weak, Sasuke decided to sever those bonds and defect from Konoha and Sakura, who had suspected this, met with him at the village's gate and they talked about their times together. When Sasuke refused to change his mind, Sakura broke down and confessed that she loved him and wanted to join him if she could make him happy. Although touched, Sasuke feigned indifference, called her annoying, and knocked her out to keep her from alerting the village but not before thanking her for everything. Over the next three years, Sakura trained with Tsunade to grow strong enough to where she can help Naruto find Sasuke. When they reunited, Sakura was shocked when Sasuke denounced any connection to her and was willing to attack him to bring him back to Konoha. Sakura still held deep care for Sasuke to where she didn't tolerate anyone bad-mouthing him. However, as Sasuke became a dangerous international criminal, Sakura became distraught when her comrades concluded that killing Sasuke was the only way to prevent him from starting a war among the nations. Sakura attempted to deal with Sasuke on her own but realized not only was she outmatched by him but she couldn't bring herself to do it, which almost caused Sasuke to kill her twice and this left Sakura visibly shaken in horror. With Naruto's resolve to save Sasuke no matter what, Sakura decided to put all of her faith in Sasuke and Naruto of fulfilling her dream of seeing Team 7 together again. As the war was announced, Sakura was uneasy that she and her comrades would likely be fighting against Sasuke and she also rejected a fellow comrade's love confession because she was in love with someone else, who was revealed to be Sasuke. She was shocked that Sasuke was offering to help the Allied Forces in the war and, when Sai asks about Sakura's feelings about Sasuke's arrival, she smiled and said that she was happy that he was back and that she trusted him. Sai noticed that her words were sincere, but her smile was fake . This was confirmed when Sasuke announced his intent to start a revolution through destruction and rebirth. Sakura tried once more for Sasuke to return home by telling him she loved him but Sasuke knocked her out with genjutsu and said he found no reason for them to love each other. Kakashi counters that Sakura wasn't trying to win his love and she was suffering from loving him. Afterwards, a redeemed and guilt-ridden Sasuke apologized to Sakura for everything he put her through, to which Sakura reacted with hesitation but tearfully accepted. Before leaving for his journey of redemption, Sakura and Sasuke spent some time together and began a relationship, leading Sasuke to truly fall in love with her. Sakura asked to accompany him on his journey but he declined and promised he would return to her. A couple of years later, Sakura did join him on his traveling, during which they got married and she quickly became pregnant with his child, and gave birth to their first and only daughter, Sarada. Despite Sasuke being away from his family for years, his and Sakura's marriage turned out to be a good one. Sakura remained truly in love with Sasuke for the rest of her life and she is very supportive of his ninja duties.

Naruto Uzumaki

Sakura's relationship with Naruto is a second significant bond she shares in the series. Having known each other since childhood due to being classmates at the Academy, Sakura had a low opinion of Naruto and though of him as annoying due to his tendency to pull off pranks. While she knew that Naruto had a crush on her, she was unaware for a long time that Naruto was actually deeply in love with her and that Naruto was holding back his feelings due to her feelings for Sasuke, whom he felt needed Sakura the most. When they are were assigned to Team 7, Sakura was disappointed while Naruto was delighted, and she went as far as to criticize Naruto for his actions by blaming him having no parents. This angered Sasuke, who was also an orphan, and his criticism of her caused her to realize how much she hurt Naruto's feelings and decided to make attempts to be nicer to him. During their time as Team 7, while Sakura was still annoyed with Naruto and vented her anger at him for his immature actions, her attempts to befriend Naruto turned out to be sincere, to the point where she felt sorry for him when he was struggling in the first test of the Chunin Exams and was willing to forfeit to help him, but Naruto vowed to never give up, which inspired her to give her best in her fight against Ino. Sakura also came to support Naruto's dream of becoming Hokage despite her earlier claims it was a stupid dream for someone as childish as him. Naruto is very considerate and protective of Sakura, and he often risks his life to save her from danger, which she is very grateful for and she often tries to find ways to repay him for everything he does for her. By the time Sasuke defects, Sakura had come to view Naruto as a dear friend and a brother-figure. In her despair of being unable to stop Sasuke, she went to Naruto and pleaded with him to bring Sasuke back because he was the one person who could do such a task. Despite his own feelings for her, Naruto made a "promise of a lifetime" to Sakura that he would bring Sasuke back no matter what. When he ultimately fails but still vowed to keep his promise, this inspired Sakura to become Tsunade's apprentice so she can get strong enough to help Naruto find Sasuke. After three years of separation, Sakura was amazed of how mature and grown up Naruto looked but was still annoyed with his perverted and idiotic actions. Some people suspected that Sakura was a little attracted to Naruto after this but she continued treating him as a best friend. After learning he is the Nine Tails jinchuriki and is targeted by the Akatsuki, Sakura realized the validity of the hardships Naruto went through as a child and she became protective of him, and willing to do anything to help him as much as possible. When Sai told her how much Naruto loved her, she was left in shock which then turned into despair as she came to believe the promise Naruto made to her was making him suffer. She tried freeing him from this promise by telling him that she loved him, but Naruto didn't believe her because he knew how much she loved Sasuke. It was later revealed that Sakura indeed lied because she was planning to kill Sasuke without getting Naruto involved. Thankfully, Naruto was able to save Sakura from being killed by Sasuke and his vow to save Sasuke at all costs gave Sakura some hope in having Team 7 together again. Overtime, Sakura came to believe that Naruto would in fact become Hokage and was willing to do anything to help him achieve his dream. Once Sasuke reciprocated her feelings and Naruto was developing feelings for Hinata, Sakura offered him advice on love and how to confess to Hinata. As the years passed, Sakura and Naruto remained close friends.

Kakashi Hatake

Kakashi is Sakura's teacher from Team 7. Being the only girl on the team, Kakashi seemingly had a soft spot for Sakura due to him unwilling to let her directly confront Haku and Zabuza, and he was always near her during combats. Kakashi tried to reassure Sakura that naruto and Sasuke would make up when Sasuke forced Naruto into a battle, but when Sasuke defected and Sakura was left in despair, Kakashi blamed himself for being an ineffective teacher. He also condemned himself for "lying" to Sakura when he knew the possibility of Sasuke betraying them was high. Kakashi considers Sakura to be a very simple girl who can easily be understood, such as when he immediately knew that she was lying when she told Naruto she loved him. Initially, Kakashi was unwilling to kill Sasuke but after saving Sakura from being killed, Kakashi was enraged and told Sakura he would deal with Sasuke so that Sakura wouldn't have to take on such a heavy burden. Kakashi has a high opinion of Sakura due to her powerful strength and intelligence, but he is still protective of her, even going as far as to criticize Sasuke for ignoring the pain he was putting Sakura through.

Ino Yamanaka

In is Sakura's former best friend, although they reconcile after the Chunin Exams. They first met when they were children; Sakura was bullied for her large forehead and Ino became her first friend after teaching her how to show more of her cute features. They were best friends for a while until Sakura announced to their friends that she had a crush on Sasuke and was surprised when she learned Ino also liked Sasuke. Because of this, both girls ended their friendship so they can compete for his affection. Although avoiding each other sometimes, they were matched against each other in the Chunin Exams, which they used as a way to see not only who was the strongest but who deserved Sasuke more. At the end, the match ends with both knocking the other out and the two reconcile but still intended to fight each other for Sasuke. While still being rivals in some sorts, they became friends again and were often helping each other in combat and on personal matters, often related to Sasuke's troubles. As adults, after Sakura marries Sasuke and Ino marries Sai, the two are more friendly with each other and considered best friends again.

Tsunade

Tsunade is Sakura's superior and teacher. Both are similar in personalities in regards to their short tempers and tendency to be blunt and criticize others. Tsunade cares a lot for Sakura, after the girl came to her on her own accord to ask Tsunade to take her as a student, which Tsunade agreed because she knew Sakura was determined to help Naruto find Sasuke at all costs. Sakura holds deep respect for Tsunade for being the Fifth Hokage but, like so many others, she is afraid of Tsunade's temper and often warns others to be careful how they speak to her. During the war, as Sakura proved herself as a worthy successor of Tsunade's, it was believed that Sakura would surpass her teacher.

Sarada Uchiha

Sarada is Sakura's daughter with Sasuke. Sakura loves her daughter dearly and she sees a lot of Sasuke in Sarada. After Sasuke left home for his mission, Sakura raised their daughter on her own and the two have a close relationship. Sarada had no problem telling her mother her feelings about boys and particularly about Boruto. However, as sarada got older and began questioning her parents' marriage due to Sasuke being away for so many years, Sakura reacted angrily but then she apologized for yelling at her. Over the years, as Sarada asked questions about her father, Sakura always told her that Sasuke was an important mission and he would come home once it was over. While she was speaking the truth, Sakura didn't explain what kind of mission Sasuke was on because of an agreement she made with Sasuke to keep it a secret out of concern any knowledge of it spreading and bringing threats that would endanger her and Sarada. As Sarada thought Sasuke didn't care about them, Sakura was always quick to insist that Sasuke loved them both and he was protecting them. Although annoyed with Sarada running away to find the answers to her questions, Sakura didn't blame her because she felt she and Sasuke should have explained the situation to Sarada earlier. When Sarada believed Sakura was not her real mother, she was enraged but after calming down, she realized she still loved her mother. Sakura later admits she was told of Sarada's doubts and confirms Sarada is her biological daughter, also expressing relief that Sarada is alright and joy when Sasuke tells Sarada that she is the proof of his love for Sakura. After this, Sakura and Sarada's relationship improves significantly, and Sarada finds it amusing to tease her mother by telling her how happy she gets when Sasuke comes home. Sakura also has deep pride for her daughter, but her ways of expressing her pride for sarada often embarrass the girl.

Comrades

Movies

Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow

Sakura joined her fellow members of Team 7 on a mission to protect the actress Yukie Fujikaze, as she and the production group she worked for travelled to the Land of Snow. Throughout the movie, Sakura encountered the Yukigakure-ninja Mizore Fuyukuma, and eventually distracted him with her Sakura Blizzard Technique. She was later seen looking out at the newly created Spring country, holding Sasuke's head in her lap.

Naruto the Movie 2: Legend of the Stone of Gelel

Sakura was sent out on a team with Naruto and Shikamaru to deliver a pet ferret to a village where its rightful owners could pick it up. After arriving and finding the village in ruins, they were attacked by mysterious warriors led by Temujin, a knight wielding the power of the Stone of Gelel. Their conflict with him resulted in Sakura and Shikamaru becoming separated from Naruto, only to rejoin him later after several conflicts with Temujin's allies. During a final battle with the wolf-like Fugai, Sakura killed her by using metal pillars to reflect her ear-splitting howl, which caused the pillars to collapse in on her.

Naruto the Movie 3: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom

Sakura's healing technique.Sakura was assigned along with Naruto and Rock Lee to protect the Land of the Moon's prince during his world trip. Sakura displayed some of the immense strength learned from Tsunade by destroying a wall with a single punch, and her improved taijutsu skills during a fight with genjutsu user Karenbana, who was hired to kill the prince. For Sakura's second fight with Karenbana, she could tell where she was because she could smell her perfume. Sakura was almost knocked out during her first encounter with Karenbana. During her second encounter with Karenbana, Sakura got trapped in Karenbana's genjutsu, resulting in her being knocked out by Karenbana, then after waking up (before the final blow), she shattered a chandelier above the two combatants' heads with two thrown shuriken, causing glass to fall on the floor. Sakura was then able to hear Karenbana's movements by the sound of the glass crunching under her feet. Sakura delivered a bone-crushing punch to Karenbana's jaw, ending the genjutsu and the fight. In the movie, Sakura used some healing techniques on the King and tried to heal an injury. Sakura was assigned to protect and escort Shion, the head priestess of the Land of Demons, to the tomb of the ancient demon Mōryō. To aid her in this mission, she was joined by Naruto, Rock Lee, and Neji (who was assigned as team captain). Upon their arrival at the temple, Sakura and her team were forced to face off against a group of ninja, with unusually powerful mastery of elemental ninjutsu. Sakura used her tremendous strength to aid Lee in fighting them off as Neji went in search for the priestess.

During the journey to Mōryō's tomb, Sakura was put in charge of carrying Shion, something the latter claimed was very uncomfortable (causing Sakura to go into a fit of rage), but she was paralysed after Kusuna injected her with his Secret Anaesthesia, causing her to fall off a tree, but luckily Neji caught her and had enough time to recover. After a hard battle with Shizuku, Sakura was able to join her team in taking down their opponents by first tricking them into using up their medically-enhanced chakra.

Naruto Shippūden 2: Bonds

Sakura was first seen at a hospital during/after the attack on Konoha, and commenting on the injured villagers who had been saved by the mysterious old man, Shinnō. Sakura was assigned with Naruto and Hinata to escort a boy (who was really a girl) named Amaru, and Shinnō, her sensei, back to their village. During their journey, Sakura and Naruto were separated from Hinata. They both then found the Zero-Tails, which fed on the darkness of human souls and somehow took over Amaru's body. Sakura tried to fight it, but was defeated easily. She was then left behind when the ruins began to fly away, and only reappeared to watch the ruins explode from Naruto's repeated Rasengan attacks. Sakura was last seen lecturing Naruto at the end, most likely for being so reckless. Hinata was talking to her afterwards, probably telling her about Sasuke.

Naruto Shippūden 3: Inheritors of the Will of Fire

Sakura was first seen with Naruto and Kakashi when Sai got ambushed by a bunch of birds which knocked him down and Naruto aided him and both got attacked, only to get saved by Kakashi and Sakura. Sakura healed both of them and forced them into the hospital bed. Naruto and Sai who both got out of the hospital bed and went to the restaurant to celebrate their recovery both got slapped by Sakura for leaving the hospital. After when Hiruko announced a Fourth Ninja War will start, Sakura was one of the Konoha 11 who got assigned to secure the village. Later Tsunade said that Kakashi is a missing-nin and that they shouldn't go after him. She got dismissed and overheard Tsunade's talk with Shikamaru that Naruto is locked up. She went there to go see him and he told her how Kakashi was controlled and he's planning to die for the village. Sakura broke the cell and freed him then they both went after him.

On their way they found Kakashi, but got stopped by Shikamaru and the rest of the rookies. Sakura and Naruto both stated that they're going to rescue him no matter what and that they won't abandon their sensei. They got ambushed; Shikamaru decided they can go ahead while they hold off the enemies. Sai later comes and brought Naruto and Sakura with him on the ride to save Kakashi. Gaara then attacked them and said that he won't let them go any further. Naruto then fought Gaara while they went ahead. When they found Kakashi, he was still under the technique that Tsunade put on him, and Naruto, Sakura, Sai, and Shikamaru all engaged Hiruko in battle, but due to lack of knowledge of the bloodlines he acquired, they were defeated. After Naruto saved Kakashi, Sakura engaged the combined summon form of Hiruko's minions with the rest of the Konoha 11 while her team-mate and sensei fought Hiruko himself. After the battle, Sakura stood victorious with her friends while smiling softly.

Naruto Shippūden 4: The Lost Tower

Along with Naruto, Sai and Yamato, Sakura is assigned to capture Mukade, a Konoha missing-nin whose purpose is to get the power of the Ryūmyaku from the ruins of Rōran, once a glorious city which was destroyed during the war. Mukade manages to absorb the seal the Fourth Hokage used and is engulfed by a huge light. Naruto tries to stop him and disappears along with Yamato. Sakura tries to follow them, only to be stopped by Sai's ink bird while she cries and screams Naruto's name.

Almost immediately after, Naruto and Yamato come back from the past but they don't remember what happened to them. As Team Kakashi leaves the ruins, they are approached by a girl who claims that she felt a disturbance on the Ryūmyaku. The girl says she's the daughter of the former Queen of Rōran and bears a Konoha Chakra Blade, telling them that her mother received it from a hero in a dream. As she leaves, Naruto claims that he has the feeling he saw her in a good dream. Annoyed, Sakura then grabs and pulls on Naruto's ear and yells at him for being a pervert.
